Happy Monday! What do you guys think of the initial FSD Beta V10 videos?!
A step in the right direction. Lev 5 autonomy seems inevitable but they have a lot of work to do.
tbh with this insany lobbying shit going on elon should sell some merch dedicated to an anti-lobbying pool of money to lobby themselves. I would pay tesla $1000 dollars to anti lobby this rediculous bullshit or maybe they could dilute 5% to have an insane lobbying/advertisement push
🤗🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍
I really want to see a video on the summon feature and watch that once it’s on the same stack. I feel like highway has been solid for a while and even city was only rough on some edge cases I would never see in my day to day driving. The summon has always been an achilles heel and something I think is a better test of overall progress.
Who doesn’t look forward to getting out at the front door and have the car drive off and find a parking spot? I can’t wait for reverse summon but we need progress in basic summon first.
Better for sure. Think we’ll see faster improvements now.
Dillion, one other things that FSD did in reverse: Summon and enhanced summon. Elon even mentioned when they first set it up, the car would backup all the way to you in the parking lot. They changed it because it looked weird. gr8 show as always
What? Are you speaking in Starbucks? Summon? A demon? You zombie , your car is gaye. Like yer dad.
Thanks Dillon for sorting through the test drives. I was particularly interested in the roundabout example as in France we have them all over the place!! Wow .. first time I see Tesla handling this with confidence and no particular hesitation. 👍
Can you imagine Marry Barra or Jim Farley discussing "voxel heights"? That's the difference between Tesla and all the other car manufacturers.
Can BarrLey imagine them knowing what a pixel is
Thanks for the straightforward explanations. Well done, as usual.
pat your Tesla when the job is well done.
7:00 Now the EV meeting between GM and Biden that Tesla wasn't invited to makes perfect sense.
Thanks Dylan! Another great update.
Good recap, thanks
You caught me by surprise using the Saint Lucia pitons! Great job!
The tax credit is not supposed to benefit the American taxpayer. It's supposed to benefit the handlers of the politicians involved. I thought that should be clear by now?
From the politician's standpoint it's all about economy stimulation. Aiding GM in making cars does that much more than aiding Tesla. Not that I agree with it, mind you.
@@WolfHeathen Man, you got to stop being naive and fall for the shit they tell you.
@@john0constantine people are asleep! We’re toast!
There's a lot of big red flags with this proposal. A union-made plugin-hybrid that may never actually be plugged in by the customer may receive a whooping $9k credit, if I understand the proposal right ($4k base, $4.5k union and $500 domestic). And what if it's union made in Mexico, it gets $8.5k?! Another big red flag is that they have sorely underbudgeted it. They only expect it to cost $15.6B between 2022-2031, which if you assume an average of $10k per vehicle that's only 1.5M EVs - and Tesla alone is easily going to sell 1.5M domestic vehicles in just 2-3 years, so to think it will take all brands 9 years to get to those numbers...
"Winner Winner Chicken Dinner". Never heard that before. Love it!
It's a winner
I think his assessment is correct. No one would be valuing Tesla as just an automaker at these prices. But, giving them credit for self driving is totally appropriate given the FSD beta status. Nothing wrong with valuing a company for future expected growth.
Thanks for including the fsd beta clips. Very useful segment!
Whomever explained FSD software build by referencing a mountain hike did a phenomenal job in critical consideration comparison. As a U.S. Vet I have climbed many mountains, some for combat missions and many for fun, from The Afghan cliffs to mountaineering school in Argentina. It is disappointing when you are trying to get to high ground and every time you get to a possible summit you see a higher summit; demoralizing but the best continue to press on. “Whooah, CATAMOUNTS!”
Really good video. I always watch yours until the end. Other producers usually provide B/S with old news or zero worth. Congratulations from an old fart of 70 (CFO/MBA/Investor).
Good content!
1:30 They are not done updating the Model S or any of the other cars. Tilting screen may still come to future cars... and many more features 👍
James talks to his fsd just like i do! they even patted it on the head! glad im not alone!
Awesome Leader Awsome Team Awsome Company TESLA 😀
This brings up another thing: We all get irritated with fake news on Tesla BUT the flip side is all the free advertising corporate news accidentally provides, the two go hand in hand.
Difference is that we are going to pay ( remember the tax payers???? ) GM to make a pile of shit Mach E!!! Money isn’t free!! You don’t just print it!! We are being forced by these commie in office to subsidize a shut product! The Bolt??? Give me a break!
Ok wth! I had no idea Elon was getting a dog let alone gonna name it Flóki. But I just got a Gerberian Shepsky and named it Flóki. (3 weeks ago)!!! Crazy!!
Good boy! that last clip, owners are petting the car.
I can't imagine driving a large car in Japan. Over there a Juke is absolutely huge. I had an old Jeep Wrangler YJ over there and I did not take back roads as the passing with a car from the opposite direction was way too iffy. Don't get me wrong, I did see huge American cars over there, but those people had much better parking options than most and I would imagine they took main roads like I did.
Great and informative vid!!!
The made in union redistribution is to slip by the Nafta II treaty. They are subsidizing the made in more directly.
Ah, but watch Rob Mauer's two videos. They (as an older driver who perhaps should have his license lifted to protect himself and the public) terrified me. But Rob really, really gave FSD B a real test. No soft pitches there!
Good explanation for Japan...similar problems in urbain Europe(narrow, twisty streets) but not as acute. France (and more specifically Paris) is trying to make it easier to install charge points (à la JuiceBox, etc.) in underground parking lots of apartment buildings, almost all of which are organized as co-propropriété (roughly, condos). Paris also trying to build out on-street charging infrastructure.
Great video! Ford Tax benefit: Anything that employs Mexicans in Mexico and not here is a great idea! We do need some Mexican workers but we should cherry-pick those from the universities. You know; like Spain currently does. The unconstitutionality of the Tax benefit law for the Ford Corporation vs the Tesla Corporation is glaringly obvious. It flies in the face of the original patent law policy.
Lol! You think the democrats give a flying fuck about the constitution?? 😂😂😂🤣💩😂😂😂
Tesla is killing it!
I vote that we call the new car the model 42. After all, it’s the ultimate answer….
Best name yet for the $25k Tesla
Welcome back buddy boooooyyy!!
Good to have you back! Just some more information about two of the items you covered.
Regarding the EV tax credit (aka help the big 3 and the uaw bill). The $4500 for the uaw built cars is getting push back hard from, surprise surprise, Toyota and others who (I forgot this fact) make cars here in the USA in non union factories in the South East of the USA that are Republican controlled. Let's the rumble begin.
The second story is China wanting car makers to consolidate for EV's. China (a few years ago when the started the subsidies for EV's) warned that this free money would not be forever and that it would end with the best (survival of the fittest) being who they would allow to live. Everyone in China has to make an EV but whoever is the best at making them that people want would be supported, those who just took the money, would be done.
Tesla isn't in any danger here on what China wants to do. If the USA did the same thing here, Tesla would also not have anything to worry about, but they are instead helping the lame horse to try to keep them in the race.
Tesla bounced back before the bell and is currently still green in aftermarket so I hope anyone who saw the sale price was able to get a few shares.
This bull is not about EVs! It’s a buy off of the people! Biden is at 35% with independents and falling fast! That happens often to a president that got the most votes in US history, no? 🤔. He’s a total loser and this catadle to grave socialism bill is what he hopes saves his impeachable azz!! Lol. lefties live free shit! Elon says it best’ “ if nobody makes the stuff, there’s no stuff.”
Thanks for the resume.
Let's push for the new smaller model to be the Q :)
is there birds eye view for parking, whether it be for outdoor parking lot or indoor parking lot? I'm from Toronto
aah, you cut out the nice part at the end, where they say "good tesla" :0
No home charging. no problem with FSD
Let it go and park where it can charge the whole night. Or whenever.
When it can do that, i.e. when it's level 5, then it will be worth ten grand. Probably more. ATM, it's not on my car, but V10 is a clear improvement. It now really looks like there's a path to level 5.
Hi Electrified, You should do a video on Nano One Materials Corp. I'm sure you will be very interested in their cathode technology that make cathode materials less expensive, higher voltage, safer, less degradation and more environmentally friendly. Nano One has created partnerships with names such as VW, Pulead, and an undisclosed USA OEM and multi billion dollar non-chinese cathode manufacturer. Their technology has already been proven. Scale up and commercialization should occur in 2022
Loved your explanation using Mount Ararat!
The tax thing doesn't target ONE company. There are quite a few that don't use union...
In America, just Tesla. All other production car makers do.
I need Gali to explain those glasses lol They are kinda growing on me but dang grampa haha
You would think that FSD would include an option for a driver to record a trip manually the way he wants it done, and have the car repeat it on demand. Or does that make too much sense?
Probably an aftermarket tilt kit 👀
@ 10:15 - Elon's tweets are often literal; being on the autism spectrum that's "normal". Sayingj the stock valuation is high compared to legacy auto is just a literal comment, & not likely a brag or criticism of those businesses. It was the same with his tweet that the stock was too high. He was considering the retail investor who was rapidly being left out as the stock went high. If you recall the split happened shortly after that. Contexts is important.
Also they give their employees options and shares as bonuses, as the price gets higher hard to do. (quite a few Tesla millionaires working at Tesla, even on the lines)
I Want a Tesla Bot ? The Tesla bot could drive my old car cook my dinner wash the dishes clean house put me to bed and tell me a bedtime story LOL
FSD like beer that gets colder and tastier.
EV tax credits dont benefit tesla that much, they already have huge waiting lists, the demand is gonna be impossible
Adds to the margin! If they up prices to share the credit 50/50 or figure out some other split.
I'd say it argueably helps tesla more than the others. As for Tesla it will lead to more profit while I dont see the credits safe the other oems from having a very bad decade. To add an exponential component to this, Tesla is good at investing, so the extra profits are likely going to lead to even more profits in the later future (when the investments start to pay off).
Teslas are part of the Zeitgeist.
To show disapproval of the $4500, Tesla should charge non-Teslas 100% more at Superchargers and automatically apply those profits to pay down Tesla owners Supercharging bill until each Tesla owner receives $4500 haha. UAW won’t know what’s going on.
Beta 10 definitely does not stop without recognizing the object. At least in robs 2nd FSD video and in the latest from "ai addict" the Tesla drove straight into some sign that not this way.... But sure that will improve.
More US dollars going to subsidize production in Mexico. WTF?
Anything to make America last… psst, the democrats hate this country. It’s called communism, AOC, Biden love it. Get your shot, wear your mask, exclude white people and shut your mouth!! 😆
Steady Mobbin
that's quick!
Would love to see a narrow, smaller tesla…something like a Willys Jeep as a low cost AWD runabout that works for city dwellers and for most local short range driving (plus tow behind RV). Then my other vehicle would be a heavy duty long range utility vehicle like the cybertruck truck!
Who knows...in 2 or 3 years you won't need a tow behind because the car can just follow you RV. You might laugh at that but typically RV mileage goes from terrible to really terrible when towing and the EV would be more economical. Heck, since we are day dreaming, why not have your tow behind self drive in front as a path finder for your RV?
@@genephipps6421 Maybe not so bad, often a tow vehicle is essential equipment…if you use the tow vehicle’s regenerative braking and battery storage your “mileage” might even be reasonable. Electric camping is the next disrupting trend replacing generators and propane, no?
What do you want, a big discount on a so-so EV or a smaller discount on the best EV ?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hey Dillon, do you have any idea why trading volume of Tesla stock has been dropping since May even as the price has gone up 5 months straight?
I've been adding to my position lately, but I'm really bothered by the fact that average trading volume in Tesla stock has dropped from 625 million in May, as the price started to rebound, to a low of 382 million at the end of August (and much lower than the averages over 1 billion the previous year).
I can't help but feel a bit worried since the common wisdom says that higher prices on lower volume isn't good. What's your take?
Supply and demand as well as general investment and stocks insecurity in the current climate
@@j.pgoodwin9020 Supply and demand don't apply in stocks, if no one's selling the price would spike/run up over much shorter time frames.
I do agree that the current climate has me worried as well, and wonder if it's one of those situations where big money is slowly unloading shares leaving retail investors holding the bag (AGAIN, smh).
Can't read the tea leaves, this pandemic and all the govt. money propping up a potentially fragile economy, idk, just have to sit back and watch 😬😬😬
Tesla MODEL Q TO THE MOON!
Tesla needs to form a Faux Union!
No no no! We don’t want to play lefty games!
It will take 6 months for each mountain to be concurred till you top the tallest in the world ,Everest in 2025
FSD is like a toddler for first couple years they just register in their mind before they can handle their environment .
👌
Engagement boosting comment. Thanks Patreons!!!!
Get it? Summon a demon.
The best AI driving computer will never be as aggressive as humans, nor should it be. Humans take chances all the time, many with horrific consequences!
Yea like voting for a feckless old fool!! Horrific! Lol
FSD IN CHINA TOWN WAS "OUT OF THIS WORLD"!
" It did it " 😀
Doesn't matter re tax break. The Tesla will make many re tax f it than any other.
I haven't had an update in 6 weeks. No update with new game, no update with car wash mode, etc. Nothing.
Have you checked your wifi connection strength in your garage? Sometimes I need to restart my router.
Rather then have a company that is successful enough to reward the employees with appreciating stock, the legacies need the taxpayer to help fund their emoyees union wages. Pathetic at best. Criminal at worst.
Doge, the cat??? New alt coin? Catcoin?
Why is it called EV bill???? It should be called Hybrid bill.
It’s neither!! Is a cover for a catadle to grave socialism that will bankrupt the USA. That’s what the Dems want. They hate this country. It’s to get dummies like us to talk about EVs and not the MASSIVE unpaid for Medicare food stamp expansion, free community college, loan debt forgiveness….
Say bye to the dollar, and tsla shares with it. Make no mistake, this bill will crush the US. It was a good run, but I’m sure a communist USA will get “ it “ right. AOC says so.
Tell ALL your fans to CALL THEIR SENATORS to NOT vote for this HORRENDEUS/INSANE bill. Keep jobs in the USA for the EV industry.
Better still would be Doge Cat
All things considered, I question the legality of tax incentives being solely for Union-built automobiles when it forces the taxpayers, and indeed burdens them, to support and benefit ONLY employees that have joined a Union. I support the American workers to organize Unions, but these new incentives appear to me to be an unfair representation and penalize us by removing freedom of choice. In essence, it unfairly subsidizes Unions. Unions should stand on their own and be a choice and organized for and of the employees. Government has no place in playing favorites. I feel all tax benefits and incentives should be fairly and equally allowed without prejudice. Look at it this way, say a benefit, an incentive, was available at the expense of ALL taxpayers, but only allowed to be granted for those purchasing items from businesses that only employ men, no women. Those that prefer to purchase from other firms, that may employ women, cannot be allowed the benefits. You want the incentive, you must support a men-only manufacturing company. Sound fair to you? Incentives are great to promote businesses to move toward a healthy planet and environment, it benefits EVERYONE... just administer them fairly, level the playing field, and allow companies that exceed the employee benefits WITHOUT union organization, where the employees chose NOT to unionize, to compete. Unions should compete with non-union houses and their respective benefits, transparent competition is
Whose side should the government be on, ours or corporations?
@@incognitotorpedo42 Government should alway be for the people common good, certainly. Sadly, that has too often been lost... but I digress. Corporations that the government engages with with regulations and incentives, both, should all be treated fairly and equally without prejudice and with transparency. All this serves the people's common interests and welfare. Clean up government, honest and fair first comes to mind. But that is just me... thanks for your comment.
@@incognitotorpedo42 - gross oversimplification to a well reasoned comment. Unions have their place but in many ways can be a destructive force that focuses on perpetuating its own existence at the ultimate cost of additional jobs and places of employ. Sure the “few” may end up with better pay but union shops avoid hiring much more aggressively than a right to work shop. The union workforce is a liability to most business owners and is a greater encouragement for automation than most other factors. Incidentally, high minimum wage numbers have the same effect.
Unions workers making 30%+ more than similar jobs in their area and $15/hr minimum wages sound good / feel good - but when you have to pay unskilled labor $30k+ over 3 shifts, those $150k robots start to look mighty attractive. The robots do create more technical jobs and the unskilled folks get even more screwed.
Not to mention that multi-million dollar manufacturing facilities literally build new operations so that they can eliminate their union shops. Why? Because they aren’t able to compete with their competition that doesn’t have that restriction - especially against imports.
And to continue to soap box, steel tariffs are another feel good action but it hurts manufacturers to the tune of every steel job they create costs 3-10 in the manufacturing sector. This is my industry. Tariffs pushed steel prices up on domestic steel because the USA mills didn’t have the same competition - so they just made a lot more money and hired some people while we had customers offshoring work because it was cheaper importing finished goods than buying from us - my whole industry lost 4-5x the jobs that we gained on the supply side. That’s a shit deal.
So what side should the government be on? The side of overall prosperity. Full stop. Screwing businesses over screws the public over. Propping up businesses that literally screw the public over *ahem bank bailout* is also wrong. We have to balance supporting business and protecting workers to continue to prosper.
Jesus, when are pille going to realize the the democrats give two fucks about the law!!!
Wow the climate change club is starting to sound like the conservative right wing guys. Conservatives have been saying for years to invest in American made products, bring jobs back from places like Mexico, and support local business to help grow our own economy. President Trump had the same idea which is why he did all he could to incentivize big companies like Ford to move manufacturing back to the US. I would love to buy an electric car that's made here in the US. Good on Elon and Tesla for recognizing this and fighting for the American tax payer.
I miss President Trump. So much better than Potato Biden.
Confused. How does making cars in China or Germany help the American taxpayer?
the credit may be even worse in that a hybrid with 7 kw battery can get 4500 credit plus 4500 for union made. so maybe 9k credit for a bullshit hybrid.
I noticed the unidentified object problem in both Rob and Gali's test drive. Seems like if the labeler cannot identify something it returns no object instead of a voxel approximation. Look at Robs parking lot adventure to see how the labeler ignored planters, barrels, chains, even uneven pavement (curb) as a safe to drive on space. Alas, they only have the first 9. Many more 9's to chase.
Elon was waaay better off with Trump as President than Biden. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
4500 discrimination of Tesla - immoral and UnAmerican
Do you want Trump back in the White House in 2025? Or someone like Trump?
If you don't then you need to realize that Biden needs to build up support in the Upper Midwest. And that means making nice with auto unions and auto manufacturers.
Tesla will be OK. Their manufacturing costs are lower than Detroit's. Tesla has the Supercharger, Autopilot, FSD, and over the air update advantages. Tesla won't have problems selling all the cars they can produce.
So all (tax paying) Americans are funding Bidens reelection campaign by offshoring jobs to Mexico? If the man's mission is a sustainable future and believes EVs are a large contributor to that goal, he wouldn't ignore the firm forcing legacy auto to change...and producing the most American made cars on the road. He might get UAW vote but is alienating quite a few who see this simply as corrupt politics.
@@collinshead
If you want purity then go start your own country. This one has its flaws and even the best intentioned person who wishes to hold office and make things better for others has to play the game to some extent.
Our election campaign financing laws are truly f'ed. It takes a ton of money to run for a major office and you can't raise that money with fifty cents here and a quarter there. That means even the most noble candidate is going to have to raise some corporate, union, or influential group money.
I really do not like seeing the word "corrupt" used in this situation. The candidates are not necessarily doing anything illegal. They're just playing by the rules we set up for them.
And I don't think you've got things very straight by "offshoring to Mexico". Besides Mexico being connected to the US by land it's not to the unions benefit for Detroit to manufacture in Mexico. Supporting Ford, even though they do some of their manufacturing outside the US, helps keep the Midwest afloat.
FSD needs to work better with potholes, water, avoiding parked vehicles when making a right turn, knowing when it is in a parking lot (I've seen a lot of confusion when starting FSD in parking lots), etc. But is 1000 steps in the right direction. The only thing is I don't understand why when training Models you have to start from 0?. There should be many preconceptions that should be fitted in the model before training.
Just so people understand, Japan is not one landmass. It's a series of islands. Not good for FSD. Also signage, road guidelines are different.
Every region will be different. As for Japan being islands, that's meaningless in the context of FSD.
What gave you the idea that it is about the American taxpayer.?? It's about the 0.0001 %. As allways in the US.! According to the fascist British Elite Dogma. Racial issues included.
3D printers use Voxels. Screens use pixels.
Time that Elon starts an EV workers union with only Tesla amployees in it, one that holds comunity and staff events to keep them happy and makes them unionised !
Time for DEMS to stop their constant pandering for votes, and also stop ignoring true American innovation like Tesla

It seems to be better but still nowhere near ready for Robotaxi… maybe 5 years or more left
AI progresses very rapidly and DOJO will be online soon.
I suspect since you're doing the same thing they're doing, making projections on something that has never been done before. Considering the lack of insight you would have vs insiders likely your projections offer a lot less fidelity. Lots of improvements needs to be made, but how fast those improvements will be coming is something an outsider has little chance of gauging correctly.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom I would agree.
That said I have been watching for 3 years and it seems the insiders are way too optimistic. I’d be happy with 5 years anyway.
CNBC: "Elon Musk says FSD 'Horrendous'"
Not sure Japan needs an EV revolution, they have bullet trains. More efficient than a self-driving electric fleet.
They still have 70 or so million ICE vehicles that need replacing.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom Then why is Tesla failing? Are those ICEV just really small? A segment Tesla doesn't offer? I remember reading Japanese culture encourages uniformity, so maybe someone wouldn't want to be the only person with a Tesla?
Treat much of what Elon Musk tweets about FSD and Neural Networks (N-N) "with a grain of salt", since he seems to just throw around terms with no detailed explanation, such as "corner case" and "local maximum". He recently tweeted that FSD might have been "over-fit" for the San Francisco Bay area, which seems to demonstrate a lack of understanding of N-N and other non-linear "curve-fitting" in general ("regression" to statisticians). Over-fitting can happen when the algebraic equation(s) you are trying to fit is too complex for the amount of data points you have. Surely, the SF Bay region has some of the most data stored by Tesla, assuming they actually collect such video data as they imply, so seems like the exact opposite problem. If anything, they might need a "higher fidelity model" to fit the massive SF Bay data, though don't quote me on that since real-world results suggest it is all mostly babbling.
One also has to take the opinions of youtube experts with a large grain of salt. Lots of people like to pretend.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom
No need to "take" anything and no "opinions" were expressed. Anyone well-educated is capable of googling, then reading and comprehending what they find, though most are not, especially English majors.
Clearly your not a hiker, Mountain A was far taller than B or C. I could point to all the evidence but that would just be rubbings it in.
This local maximum is utter rubbish.
There is clear and definable global maximum....is the fsd producing results that enable the fleet of cars on the road at any given time to have a lower accident rate than the fleet of human drivers at any given time.
This, any given time ,would actually be over a period of say 12 months and it would be the average number of road accidents (clearly produced by the fsd system or a human) over this period.
So the regulators can have a window of measuring when fsd is at level 5) where the Tesla fleet or a sample set is monitored .
If the results show that this sample fleet has say half the number of accidents than the human fleet, regulators give the green lift for full scale adoption and regulatory oversight and the entire open fleet of tesla can access fsd.
If the open fleet accident rates increase in any given window to be the same or worst than the historic average human fleet, then fsd is taken offline for assessment and review.
When Tesla finds the problem and solves it, then a new sample fleet is monitored and has access to fsd.
Over the next 12 month period the hurdle rate is still to achieve half the accident rate as the human driving fleet historically achieved. If fsd fails then it is taken off line, if successful the entire tesla fleet can access fsd.
And so this setup is how society regulates tesla's or any other level 5 fsd that is not geo-fenced.
Tesla needs to unionize, regardless of whatever political pressure is going on, ezpz
Nonsense.
The unions would destroy it and turn it into a loser company like all the other companies they effectively control like they did with NUUMI (Fremont) which led to Fremont closing thus protecting UAW jobs in Michigan but costing NUUMI Fremont workers and contractors and suppliers their jobs and businesses. Why unions are hated in Fremont and the employees voted against being union members
Thanks for the explanations!
