Anyone else spot the mouse at 5:18? Great video man, I'm long due to invest in some electric saws so it's great to see a well put together carvers view on these in action, thanks for your efforts
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, we had had a ton of mice, that would just be darting all around us. I tried editing them out. I've since changed the camera direction to the red pine board wall and set traps . It looks better, in my opinion. Thanks for commenting, and I hope to hear from you again!
Pretty cool video. This is the first one of yours I have seen. Interesting enough the name I came up with for my shop is Emperfectly Made Carving and Crafts. I don't intend anything to be perfect either. Just wanting to have fun and hopefully make someone smile when they see my work.
Thank you sir! My 9 year old son and I love watching your videos. The info on your saws is really great because we are trying to decide our next saws and setups. We both use the 140 for detailing now and he “needs” those two smaller bars right away, lol!. I am going to look into the 220 because we need a bigger battery solution for blocking. Really appreciate you and also loved the doodling approach you show some great character and joy for the art form. It’s really important and thats what I hope takes away the most. All the best!
A friend told me if you think you know it all, then just put your tool box away your done, a real professional is aways learning something new and experimenting, that's what's sets you apart from the rest. I'm new to carving so I'm soaking up ad much info as I can. Another thing if someone is looking for saw, make sure you can get a 1/4 pitch sprocket for it. I had 3 saws for firewood cutting when i started carving and none I can get the right clutch and sprocket setup for them to run 1/4 pitch. But I did manage to find a 12" quarter tip 3/8 low profile for my T540xp, it makes a big deference detailing with a smaller bar now.
I was watching you paint that wall for that wildlife preserve and it looked like you where really experimenting and laying colors with that dry brush technique. That really came to life after you did that, your carving and skills are amazing!
Nice work! Great video, well said, fun times! I love the humerus stuff, keep up the good work J!
Thanks for watching!
good laugh. Love doing those little sketch carvings. Amazing how just little tooth cut can change the look or expression or detail.
Yes, sir, thanks for watching !

What chain do you use?
I use only Stihl chain, most in .043 except on the bigger saws.
