    Just stumbled across your channel and really like to watch how others carve. Proper anatomy and proportions go a long way to making a carving look correct and you’ve got it. Well done

      Thank you. I glad you like my work.
      I'm still learning as I go. Never totally happy with a lot of the stuff I do, but hopefully people can pick up a few ideas from it.

    I really like your videos. They are not as sped up as most others and you give quite a bit of information about how to carve. Great job. ~ David

      Cheers David. That comment is really appreciated. I try as far as possible to just edit out the thinking time between cuts. This reduces the video time quite considerably but let's people see the cuts in a reasonable amount of detail. (Not always easy when carving and filming on my own) I do however speed up some of the repetitive stuff. Editing takes forever, but to be honest I quite like doing it. Thanks again for the feedback mate.

    Hello. I am a brand new Carver from Canada. I am wondering what do you use to coat the Bears? It looks like it goes on beautiful. The stuff I’m using is frothy and white and a little bit of a nightmare. It’s like I’m prepping the bear for a shave.

      Hi, thanks for subscribing. I use Barrettine Decking Oil. It comes in a variety of shades. I mix it 50/50 with Barrettine wood preserver.

      It’s just hard watching with size of wood. I’ve a rough idea but things need to be in proportion. Thanks and I’ll let you know how mine turns out

    • @robertwilson9746
      @robertwilson9746  Год назад +1

      Hi Nigel, it's not so much case of measurements as proportions. As the video shows, I divide the log into thirds. And then divide the front portion into thirds. Watch it a couple of times and you'll soon get the idea mate

    • @robertwilson9746
      @robertwilson9746  Год назад

      The logs probably about 2ft long
