প্রাচীন ইতিহাসের সকল আধুনিক গবেষকই কার্যত স্বীকার করেছেন যে, যীশু এক ঐতিহাসিক ব্যক্তিত্ব। যদিও ঐতিহাসিক যিশুর অনুসন্ধান করে সুসমাচারগুলোর ঐতিহাসিক বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা এবং বাইবেলে চিত্রিত যিশুর সঙ্গে ঐতিহাসিক যিশুর কতটা মিল, সেই বিষয়ে খুব কম ক্ষেত্রেই মতৈক্যে উপনীত হওয়া গিয়েছে। যীশু ছিলেন একজন গালীলীয় ইহুদি। বাপ্তিস্মদাতা যোহন কর্তৃক দীক্ষিত হবার পর তিনি পরিচর্যা ও প্রচারণা শুরু করেন। তিনি মৌখিকভাবে প্রচারকার্য করতেন। প্রেরিতগণ প্রায়শই তাঁকে “রব্বি” বলে সম্মোধন করতেন। ঈশ্বরকে অনুসরণ করার ক্ষেত্রে কোন উপায়টি শ্রেষ্ঠ তা নিয়ে তিনি সঙ্গী ইহুদিদের সঙ্গে বিতর্কে অবতীর্ণ হন, রোগগ্রস্থদের আরোগ্যদান করেন, রূপক কাহিনীর মাধ্যমে শিক্ষাদান করেন এবং অনুগামীদের একত্র করেন। তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করা হয় এবং ইহুদি কর্তৃপক্ষ তাঁর বিচার করে। তারপর তাঁকে রোমান সরকারের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয় এবং রোমান গভর্নর পন্তীয় পীলাতের আদেশে তাঁকে ক্রশে বিদ্ধ করা হয়। তাঁর অনুগামীরা বিশ্বাস করতেন, মৃত্যুর পর তিনি মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে পুনরুত্থিত হয়েছিলেন এবং তাঁরা যে সমাজ গড়ে তুলেছিলেন সেটাই কালক্রমে আদি মণ্ডলীর রূপ নেয়।

The four canonical gospels share the same basic outline of the life of Jesus: he begins his public ministry in conjunction with that of John the Baptist, calls disciples, teaches and heals and confronts the Pharisees, dies on the cross, and is raised from the dead. Each has its own distinctive understanding of him and his divine role: Mark never calls him "God" or claims that he existed prior to his earthly life, apparently believes that he had a normal human parentage and birth, makes no attempt to trace his ancestry back to King David or Adam, and originally had no post-resurrection appearances, although Mark 16:7, in which the young man discovered in the tomb instructs the women to tell "the disciples and Peter" that Jesus will see them again in Galilee, hints that the author knew of the tradition. Matthew and Luke base their narratives of the life of Jesus on that in Mark, but each makes subtle changes, Matthew stressing Jesus's divine nature - for example, the "young man" who appears at Jesus' tomb in Mark becomes a radiant angel in Matthew. Similarly, the miracle stories in Mark confirm Jesus' status as an emissary of God (which was Mark's understanding of the Messiah), but in Matthew they demonstrate divinity. Luke, while following Mark's plot more faithfully than does Matthew, has expanded on the source, corrected Mark's grammar and syntax, and eliminated some passages entirely, notably most of chapters 6 and 7. John, the most overtly theological, is the first to make Christological judgements outside the context of the narrative of Jesus's life. Scholars recognise that the differences of detail between the gospels are irreconcilable, and any attempt to harmonise them would only disrupt their distinct theological messages.
Matthew, Mark and Luke are termed the synoptic gospels because they present very similar accounts of the life of Jesus. John presents a significantly different picture of Jesus's career, omitting any mention of his ancestry, birth and childhood, his baptism, temptation and transfiguration. John's chronology and arrangement of incidents is also distinctly different, clearly describing the passage of three years in Jesus's ministry in contrast to the single year of the synoptics, placing the cleansing of the Temple at the beginning rather than at the end, and the Last Supper on the day before Passover instead of being a Passover meal. The Gospel of John is the only gospel to call Jesus God. In contrast to Mark, where Jesus hides his identity as messiah, in John he openly proclaims it.

ধন্যবাদ আপনাকেও সময় দিয়ে শোনার জন্য, বইটাতে যিশুর কথা শুরু হয়েছে বেশ খানিকটা পর থেকে, প্রথমে দুটি অধ্যায়ে যিশুর আগমনের প্রেক্ষাপট বুঝাতে, ইহুদি জাতির ইতিহাস বর্ননায়। প্রথমের এই ইতিহাস অংশটাতে দ্বিধায় ছিলাম শ্রোতার বোরিং লাগবে কি না। কারন পরের দিকে যিশুর জন্ম থেকে অংশগুলো খুবই কৌতূহল উদ্দীপক।
আপনার ভালো লাগছে জেনে ভালো লাগছে। বাকি পর্ব শোনার আমন্ত্রণ রইল।

বেশ কয়েকদিন ধরে চেষ্টা করছি বইটা শোনার, কিন্তু ১ম এপিসোড টাই শেষ করতে পারছিনা, কেমন যেন বোরিং লাগছে! লেখক সকল ইতিহাস টাচ করে গেছে কিন্তু কোনোটাই সম্পূর্ণভাবে ও সাবলীলভাবে বর্ণনা করেননি, পাশাপাশি লেখকের শব্দচয়ন গুলোও তেমন মন্ত্রমুগ্ধ নয়.. এমনটা লাগছে😢
হ্যাঁ সুহৃদ। এই বইটির ভাষা একটু বেশি অলংকৃত। মেদবহুল, তৎসম, তদ্ভব বেশি। তার উপর, প্রথম অধ্যায়ে যিশুর সময়ের আগের ইতিহাস বলা অংশটা আমারো বেশ বোরিং লেগেছে। আপনি দ্বিতীয় পর্ব থেকে শুনতে পারেন। 💚
