I’m English and Jim Reeves has been and still is my all time favourite country singer, I remember in 1964 while watching the evening news on BBC a newsflash appeared and a picture of Jim Reeves on the screen. The newsman said “ The Hillbilly singer JIm Reeves has died in a plane crash.” I was 14 years old and I’d been a big fan of Jim since I first heard him in 1962 and today at 74 years of age ,Jim is still singing in my house, especially on Sundays when I play his Gospel songs.
I love all these country music stars and the songs. I grew up in the 1950's. They are all great singers. I'm glad that Larry Black and Bill Anderson as the host. I have seen a lot of them I have seen in concerts or the Grand Ole Opry.
I know George said, “who will fill their shoes”. That is very true, but who will fill the shoes of these guys who bring these shows together to honor all our beloved Country stars? Every one of of them brings a memory to my mind, as far back as late sixties, when my 17 year old heart swooned over their voices and lyrics, having been raised with a mom who belonged to a Sweet Adelines quartet. Learned a lot about harmony and perfect pitch from her. Lived in Nashville, raising my son, for 23 years. Absolutely love all of them. To this day, play the Classic Country daily. Want my house filled with it. Music heals the soul. God Bless all of you.
Thanks for the moments of nostalgia. I grew up listening to a great many of these songs. Someone said there will never be another time like this and I totally agree. So many of the personalities in this show are like old friends to me!
I've just laughed and cried more than I have in a long time. In talking about Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff I saw so many Country music icons that have joined them. I am so grateful they gathered together and shared so many memories with their fans.
I'm almost 68 years old and I can remember as a small child listening to these great singers on my little transistor radio at night when my Mom and Dad thought I was sleeping. I grew up with all of them, thank you for all the memories you have bestowed upon me.
Oh I was fortunate enough that my Mom and Dad took 4 children to Watermelon Park in Virginia, many times to see a lot of the singers who have since died, especially Patsy Cline, who was also from Virginia.
I have been watching all these Obrey reunion shows & enjoying them so much. I am 81 & have always been a country music fan. I am so amazed at how many know the words to all the songs the others sing. They surely are a Country Family. Love it. ❤

Today's country music doesn't hold a candle to the 50s 60s 7os
Unfortunately nobody can fill the shoes of these legends
I love all of these country music stars and I think that they are great singers. I'm glad that Bill Anderson is the host.
