There's an interview with MacArthur by Todd Freel here on the tubage where he basically says the polar opposite of what Scripture says. In other words, the apostle Paul's thorn in the flesh was so that HIS power was made perfect in weakness when Scripture plainly says that it's THE LORD's POWER which is made perfect in weakness. The interview continues by the mention os Paul and HIS church, HIS ministry, etc. The reality is EVERYTHING is Jesus THROUGH a person. That person doesn't have a thing. John 1:1-4, Romans 11:36, etc. are BEYOND self-explanatory. There are no contradictions in Scripture...EVER.

We've both decided that since we're in LA, we need to get to John's church soon to hear the Word in person. I dont suspect John craves human validation for what he does... but be encouraged in knowing that your frankness in presenting God's word is appreciated and edifying to a lot of people.

This is long but for anyone, praying this all helps. If there’s any “ammo” here that’s either wanted or needed, go for it. As Scripture implies - “Freely you have received, freely give”...
This is like the polar opposite of what Scripture says. Was watching a part of an interview with John MacArthur but ended up stopping it. Link to it is here:
The Tubage doesn't do links so here's the search term instead:
      wretched interview #2: John MacArthur
In the interview, Paul’s thorn in the flesh was the conversation subject of the moment. The explanation was that the thorn was given in order for the ministry of Paul to be under constant opposition in order to teach him to not rely on himself so much as his strength is made perfect in his weakness. That all begins at the 9:15-mark.
Why would anyone even say that?
The reality is that it’s God The Father’s strength that is made perfect in HUMAN weakness. In the video, there’s also mention of “PAUL’s church”, “YOUR church”, and so forth.
There’s no such thing as a “human’s church”. Paul was GIVEN stuff over which to be a STEWARD. None of it was HIS.
The way that part of the interview went is basically a works-based righteousness. Here’s what that passage REALLY says:
      2 CORINTHIANS 12:7-10 (ESV)
So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
      ____________________
      1 CORINTHIANS 13:12 (ESV)
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
      www.biblegateway.com/
The interview explanation basically places the emphasis on humanity while the passage places it on The Lord where it SHOULD be.
A comment by someone which ALSO makes one think: “I can’t listen to a minister who doesn’t believe that God heals! His stance on the gifts of the Spirit ceasing with the death of the last Apostle is not biblically sound! He has lead many astray with his false teachings and his attributing the works of Holy Spirit to the devil is potentially blasphemy!”
According to Ephesians 5:11, instructions are to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness but rather expose them and according to 1 John 4:1, instructions are to test the spirits. Lordship Salvation is also addressed in the interview. Be careful what you read and/or hear in general. If one thinks about it, by the time Jesus is Savior, He’s ALREADY Lord...Back to that “Born again?” question again. (Be highly encouraged to study John 3:1-21 for more information.)
Ask The Lord for wisdom if necessary.
There ARE NO contradictions in Scripture...EVER.
God The Father can speak for Himself. He owns the place, after all. WE humans don’t.
Always state Biblical truth. The results are between the recipient and God The Father. Make sure what’s stated is Biblical truth, however. If it is not, fix it so it is.
It’s only The Holy Spirit Who can guide into all truth (John 14:16-17, 26, John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 3:5-9, Hebrews 4:12).
(SIDE NOTE: The term “Christ” is a title, not a name. It means either “The Anointed One” or “Messiah”.)
      Some additional feedback received:

For the question which consumes the biblical writers from beginning to end, "Why doesn't God intervene to ensure his righteousness and protect his people?: MacArthur answers, "God has abandoned the field! God is in the locker-room actively doing nothing!"
Whatever the rationale, the situation is always the same. God never appears to play the game. His human spokesmen never stop cursing their fellow man from the bleachers.

"I can’t listen to a minister who doesn’t believe that God The Father heals! His stance on the gifts of the Spirit ceasing with the death of the last Apostle is not biblically sound! He has lead many astray with his false teachings and his attributing the works of Holy Spirit to the devil is potentially blasphemy!"

For anyone, praying this all helps. If there’s any “ammo” here that’s either wanted or needed, go for it. As Scripture implies - “Freely you have received, freely give”.
“Salvation by works” never works. No one is saved BY good works but rather UNTO them. HUMONGOUS difference. It is impossible to goody two shoes into Heaven. Jesus did 100% of everything salvation-wise (Mark 1:15, John 14:6, John 19:30). By comparison, a human does 100% of nothing (John 15:5). Salvation’s a GIFT, not a “WAGE” (Romans 6:23). The Lord’s The CreatOR while we’re merely the creatED.
According to Ephesians 5:11, instructions are to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness but rather expose them and according to 1 John 4:1, instructions are to test the spirits.
Over the years, there has been quite a lot taught about Christianity. The problem is, many of those things simply are not in The Bible. Makes one wonder at times - Human opinion versus The Lord’s opinion...Wonder who would win? Additionally, Mosaic Law and/or other types of Legalism - Sad, huh? One thing to also remember is that there are dozens of each, cults and false religions. Many of them have done a SPECTACULAR job of messing up the Gospel message with either bogus teachings, fake literature based on fake Bibles and so on.
Sometimes love must be tough. The desire is for everyone to hit as close to 100% as possible of everything for which The Lord created that person, self included. No one is perfect and there is no one righteous...AT ALL (Isaiah 64:6, John 8:7, Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:21-26). EVERYONE needs a savior (1 John 1:8-10). As long as a person is able to identify from the heart with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus...ONLY...that person is justified (Galatians 2:20-21, Romans 5:10, Romans 6:5, 2 Corinthians 5:17). Anything above and beyond that is merely some human attempting to push some “religion”, or “sin management”, or “man-plan”. (SIDE NOTE - The term “Christ” is a title, not a name. It means either “The Anointed One” or “Messiah”.)
Rather than ask, “What would Jesus do?” Perhaps instead inquire as to what He may be doing in you. It’s more accurate and allowing Him to live in you is more feasible than merely trying to imitate behavior(s).
“...and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:31-32). (Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 27:17, Hebrews 4:12, Hebrews 10:14, Jude 1:23, etc. are additional motives.)
Psalm 118:8 implies that it’s better to trust in The Lord than it is to put confidence in man.
“To sanctify” means “to set apart”. “To put to its intended purpose,” in other words.
In Hebrews 10:14, “For all time” means (may I have a drumroll, please) “For all time”. (That’s spiritually-speaking, or course. The rest of you? Welcome to being human.)
(ANOTHER SIDE NOTE - In some translations, “For all time” is worded as “Forever”, “To the end” or “For eternity”.)

All denominations combine the gospel of the kingdom (which Jesus and the 12 taught) with the gospel of the grace of God, which ONLY Paul taught.
The gospel that Jesus Christ taught is John 3:16 - " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
With the John 3:16 (gospel of the kingdom) you have to keep the Law of Moses to be saved!
Matthew 19:17 - ""And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
With the gospel of the kingdom, you have to endure until the end to be saved!
Mathew 24:13- - "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
With the gospel of the grace of God (I Corinthians 15:1-4) we are saved (at the exact moment) when we believe the gospel.
Ephesians 1:13-14 - "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
    I Corinthians 15:1-4
    1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
The gospel of the grace of God is the gospel by which Jesus Christ was raised from the dead.
II Timothy 2:8 - "Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel."
We will be judged by Paul's gospel.
Romans 2:16 - "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."
Do you want to have your sins forgiven by Paul's gospel, be saved by believing Paul's gospel, and be raised from the dead by Paul's gospel, or do you want to listen to a false gospel preached by false denominational preachers?

Those are to believe in Him (John 5:24, John 6:29) and to live in love, ESPECIALLY for each other (John 13:34-35, John 15:5, 9-12).
      JOHN 6:29 (RSV)
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
      www.biblegateway.com/
Somebody attempting to blend the Torah and the finished work of Christ is basically wasting your time. They do not blend. By contrast, salvation is “Just Jesus at Calvary and with His Resurrection. No artificial anything”. (“The Gospel ONLY”, in other words - Keyword: “ONLY”).

@@alvinhickling901 Sorry. Not even REMOTELY close. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of context. Anyways, this one should be simple...I hope. Meanwhile...How is one saved again? (Four commands and / or principles. Someone born again can answer them eventually. Scripture references are nice but not mandatory. The principles, on the other hand, those are MOST critical.) That's quite important to answer since forever's a long time. Thanks in advance!
