As part of the ReForest London vision of creating a thriving community in a healthy urban forest, programs like Neighbourhood ReLeaf are aimed at increasing the number of trees in communities across London, thereby contributing to improving air quality, reducing urban heat, and enhancing biodiversity.
This program, along with other initiatives, encourages members of the community to mobilize and get involved in planting trees and caring for them. One way that the London community can access a tree is directly through ReForest London each spring and fall at ReForest London’s office and often throughout the city. These depots ultimately aim to increase London’s tree canopy and promote a healthier environment.
As experts in trees and species naturally found in this area, called native species, the ReForest London staff are eager to provide education and help locals to determine which size and species is best for their homes. Whether it be through maple, oak, tulip tree, hackberry, or fruit trees - growing our urban forest is not a mission ReForest London can tackle alone.
