Tip for the beach farm. Sprinklers don't work on the sand but there is a patch on the left that they will work on. Also. Check the shores for foragables and crates. They can be opened with a scythe.
Check the trash cans in town. Just be sure the villagers can't see you.
Chests can be made and placed anywhere in the world not just your farm. If they are in villager paths they will just knock them out of the way.
Potatoes are my go-to for planting first. 6 days to grow and chance of harvesting more than 1 potato.
Check the TV everyday for weather, luck, and a third channel that'll give you recipes (Sundays/Wednesdays only) or hints.
Not sure how much you want to explore on your own but there is a comprehensive wiki you can check out.
    Have fun!

Your personality is so calming, and then it made me laugh when you got mad that Pierre’s was closed lmao. This game is HUGE, there’s a ton of stuff to do. Barely scratched the surface is right. You can interact with a lot of things so make sure to explore and click on stuff - you can investigate things in people’s houses to learn more about them.
A lot of people have trouble with fishing, my strategy is to bounce the bar up and down gently like *clickclick* *clickclick* and that helps control it for some reason.
The daily tasks will build up in this game so don’t stress trying to get things done, take time to relax! Spend a day fishing or exploring or talking to the villagers, whatever you want to do. But make sure you go back to the building by the playground, it’s important.
Excited to see more of your videos!

I recommend going into settings and choosing "show tool hit location." You can always turn it off if it bugs you but it really helps.
Also, if possible flip and move your camera to the left side of the screen because right now you are blocking the calendar/clock and quest log.
And for filming purposes, the game auto saves when you sleep so make sure not to quit mid-day.

I wish I could play this for the first time again! A few game changer tips to really help you get the hang of things (if you don't want tips just ignore this):
    1. Always keep at least 1-2 of EVERYTHING you grow or find (items, crops, minerals...) because it may come in handy to, say, have a few parsnips ready to go! People will ask for things, you might need to exchange an item for something else, etc. And certain things are quite tricky to find so definitely keep one and sell the rest!
    2. Avoid selling resources (stone, wood, fiber, etc) because you'll need a lot of them eventually
    3. On the note of resources, if you have energy left at the end of the day, use up your energy to chop down some trees, break some rocks etc!
    4. You will pass out at 2am so get to bed before then
    5. Make sure to talk to the villagers every opportunity to get! You can also give them gifts, which will increase your friendship with them and unlock new story scenes. Certain characters are also single and ready to mingle ;) Gifts are worth double the "friendship points" on their birthdays. You can find the character friendship page in the pop-up menu.
    6. Relax and have fun! There are almost no irreversible choices in this game so you can always change your mind and re-do something, even if you may have to collect new resources/money.

Seeing your joy and surprise at the wonderful discoveries in what is one of my favorite games had me smiling the whole video. I know you asked for tips and tricks, and there are lots of helpful suggestions in the comments. However, there is a lot of lore and hidden things that are so much more satisfying to learn about and discover on your own. So just be mindful when browsing the comments and the Wiki if you want some things left out to figure out on your own, which I think can be more gratifying and fun. But to each their own! You’re in for such a treat - I’m glad I found your series!

Cutting all the weeds early isn't a bad idea (at least on this farm. On the forest farm it's debatable) but if you find grass (it looks slightly different and you can walk through it), try to leave some of that. Once you get animals, they will eat it.
I recommend reading item descriptions. Sometimes they tell you useful things, like how long seeds take to grow or if something can be used for crafting. Crafting materials are best kept. They don't sell for much and you can never have too much of them.
On the top right, there should be a pulsing exclamation mark. If you click it, it'll show you your current quests. Those also teach you some things early in the game. You can also press F to reach the quest screen.
Keeping a bit of everything is usually a good idea. Villagers can ask for crops, forage, gems and other stuff for quests so having these things lying around is useful.
If you struggle with the fishing mini game, I recommend buying the training rod. It's super cheap and helps make the process easier while your fishing level is low.

  • @RamblingRose08
    @RamblingRose08 8 дней назад +2

I'm so glad that i found your channel! Can't wait to see your journey playing my favorite game!!
Regarding the weeds that give you fiber, you may not want to sell all the fiber because you need some for crafting. But feel free to cut down all of the weeds.
Regarding grass, animals can eat it fresh and then you can cut it to get hay after you get a silo. You always want to leave some fresh grass growing. It grows out in all directions so if you go to the middle of a grassy area and cut a few holes in the grass they will fill back in. That way you always have fresh grass and can still harvest some for hay.
Regarding trees, some players have a hard time with wood because they cut all of their trees down. I choose an area to let the trees keep growing and every time i see at least one baby tree growing (trees can drop seeds in all directions) i then chop down the big tree. That way you always have a replacement tree growing and you still get tree seeds from cutting down the big tree to use in crafting.
On the Beach Farm you can plant anywhere you want, but later when you can get sprinklers they can only be placed in the darker beige dirt area to the south west of you house (by the green grass).
Those are my tips for the main farm resources, but you can play any way you want! That the beauty of Stardew. Have fun!!

Always love watching a first playthroughs or streams! Your reactions are perfect. It's a great game for playing as you like, no rush, do a little bit of everything and just enjoy finding the little details that will lead you on to other parts of the story.
The biggest tip is the wiki, it's always clear on spoilers, but looking at it for the first time can make you realise how big the game can get!
Money is always the first hurdle, early game you can probably sell just about anything and buy seeds, you can concentrate on collecting items a bit later as you get more quests or craftables, keep looking at the craft menu to see what you need for new recipes you get as you level up.
Chest colours? Aww cute...unless you're a hoarder, then it's an organisation tool for the crazy control maniacs, of which I am one.
I hope you enjoy all the stories and paths in the game!

there is no "wrong way" to play stardew, there is no event you can truly miss (they will always come back), there's not really any way to soft or hard lock yourself forever. but I've found my favorite crops are strawberries/potatoes in the spring (not avail until the 13th at the egg festival), blueberries/melons in summer, cranberries/pumpkins in fall, and depression in winter (I mean other activities than farming like mining, fishing, foraging, but I recommend ranching with animals and mining like a madman in winter)

It's such a great game! Inventory management is key early on, and I really recommend learning to fish for money early on; buy the training rod if you have to. The mountain lake and the rock at the beach are good places, plus you can sell your catch in the shop at the beach to make room. You can eat the seaweed and algae for energy to keep going as well.
Once you harvest your parsnips you should get level 1 farming so then you get the scarecrow instructions.

I'm almost on year 16 in my game and I still get tips from the internet. Google is definitely your best friend for this game when you don't wanna find things out on your own.
The best ways to make money:
Kegs for wine, vegetable juice and green tea. They also can be used to make coffee. 3 coffees combined makes triple shot espresso, which makes you run faster.
Preserve jars make jelly and pickled vegetables.
The mill makes flour from wheat and sugar from beets.
Dehydrators make dried fruit and mushrooms.
Eggs can be turned into mayonnaise.
Milk can be turned into cheese.
Putting fish in ponds gives you roe, which can be turned into aged roe and caviar if you have sturgeon. You use preserve jars for that too.
Tree tappers can give you maple syrup, pine tar, oak resin and mysterious syrup.
You need a basement to age wine and cheese in casks. Ancient fruit, star fruit, banana, mango and pineapple wine are the most lucrative, especially when aged.

Early on, my plan is to alternate days of fishing and finding/planting seeds i find or buy. Fishing will get easier as you level up too. And if you buy a bunch of kale with the 500, then when it sporuts , sell it all and keep 1 for energy. Then repeat 1 more time so you can have plenty of strawberry money by the 13th for the festival. Also, in the begining, its best to maximize time by passing out. And theres no penalty if you have little to no money, like under 9g i believe.

  • @amypetty5013
    @amypetty5013 8 дней назад +2

Fishing is easily the best money maker early in the game, although the minigame can be more than a bit of a pain in the ass, make no mistake.
I don't see anyone who has mentioned this yet. It's kind of a big spoiler so I'm trying to be careful. Joja and Pierre are, well, in competition. The game essentially asks you to make a choice between your values...are you for or against capitalism? The primary quest of the game is central to that question. There's no WRONG answer - you can't FAIL the quest, but which route you go makes a significant impact on the internal narrative of the game.

Just scratching the surface is correct, lol, this game is a gem! It can absolutely be min-maxed, but you can also absolutely just play at a slow, stress-free pace and chill. 🫠 The Stardew Wiki is probably the most comprehensive game wiki I've ever personally explored! It can tell you anything, down to exactly where a specific character will be on the day and time you're looking for them. And there are a ton of guides online on different ways to min-max, speed-run, etc if that's what you're into. *Gaming Tips*
*Early Game Fund Creation (making money)*
    *-Fishing!*
One of the best and easiest ways to make money early game.
----Buy a training rod from Willy's shop for 25g. This will make the mechanics of fishing much easier.
----Best place to fish is the mountain area. This is the upper right corner of the map by Robin's home. The fish caught here are worth a little more.
----You can fish at your farm. The rates will not be as good as elsewhere, however the Beach Farm is one of the better farms to fish at and it is convenient. You are more likely to get fish from the surrounding ocean than at the small pond.
    *-Help Wanted Quests!*
Next to the calendar, there will sometimes be a 'help wanted' quest available. It will be a request for an item or task from various townsfolk. There will be a money reward for completing the request and it will raise your friendship level people as well.
----Some of these quests are easier to complete than others and some have greater rewards than others. You'll have to decide which are worthwhile to do.
    *-Preserve Jars!*
Preserve jars can be crafted once you achieve level 4 farming skill. You can process produce into jellies and pickles which significantly increases sell price.
----In order to quickly level up your farming to access preserve jars, plant a lot of parsnips. Farming skill levels up when you harvest a crop. Parsnips grow quickly and are cheap, so you can plant a lot, harvest a lot, and level up quickly. It is an investment of sorts.
----Save up money until the egg festival. Buy strawberry seeds from the shop. Plant the strawberry seeds before you go to bed (one plant will keep producing strawberries). Process strawberries with preserve jars to make strawberry jelly and sell the jelly. Generally speaking, strawberries are the most profitable crop of the spring.
----Cauliflower also is good to make into pickles, but it's very slow growing and an expensive initial investment.
*Answers to Questions You Asked + Starter Advice*
-Stardew Wiki is very helpful, if you'd like to use it.
-There will be a scarecrow available to craft after you have harvested your first batch of parsnips. (This will level up your farming skill). It has a range of protection to keep crows from eating your crops.
-Plant a little of each crop and keep some. Especially 5 gold star parsnips. They're needed for various quests, etc.
-Giving townfolk a birthday present will increase your friendship with them. With higher friendship you will unlock cutscenes to learn more about them and you might receive presents in the mail.
----Each person has their preferences. Gifts that they dislike or hate will lower friendship. Gifts that they like, love, or are neutral towards will increase friendship. You can look this up on the Stardew Wiki.
----For Spring Birthdays, by gifts you will have on hand. Parsnips are a good birthday present for: Lewis, Shane, Pierre, Emily, and especially Pam (she loves them). Daffodils are a good birthday present for: Vincent, Haley, Pam, Pierre, and Emily. A better gift for Emily will be any gemstone that you get out of the mines (she loves them).
----Higher quality (having a star) gifts result in more friendship.
-The Beach Farm sometimes has crates wash up on the shore with items for you! Check for those. Sprinklers can only be placed in the rectangular dirt area to the left. There's lots of space for animals and fishponds though! (Also, leave the grass to grow--the animals need to eat it.)
Most importantly enjoy and make it about having fun, not stressing to get things done! :D

Some spoiler-free tips from one newbie to another - definitely go to Pierre's when it's not closed, sell lots of fish (that's a big moneymaker), and try to explore everywhere and meet all the people. You can give gifts to people and raise your friendship with them. On their birthday they'll be happy if you got them something they like! It can be very rewarding to talk to everyone each day and make friends with them.

I play for a about three years and I may suggest, take your ax and make some wood. You than may diy a crest and with that you are able to collect more items. Your lack of space in your menue will soon be a problem.
Take a look at the icon on the right side of your screen. !!!!! that one. You will find your quests there and right at this point it says: Talk to the villagers, there are 28 of them right now and in the moment you are talking to one, you can see the name of the person and start get to know them.

Always great to watch someone discover a game for the first time. Thanks for taking us on this journey! This game is actually huge, there are all kinds if things you can get up to. When you have the time and resources, I recommend upgrading your watering can as it will help make up some of the difference of not being able to use sprinklers on the main farm.

What a treat to find someone playing SDV fresh. There are way too many tips and tricks to list, but honestly just explore and don't worry about maximizing until you've played more. But I will leave a few thoughts I had as I watched.
I'm a little stressed about not being able to see what time it is because of where your video is sitting. 😅
Don't worry, Journey of the Prairie King is ridiculously hard, it's not just you.
Don't bother going back to Joja, your initial instinct was right.
Clear out some of the trees, but at some point you'll want areas with certain trees.
Fishing minigame is definitely a bit of a learning curve. I recommend practicing at the mountain lake (northeast on the map, near the carpenter shop), there's an easy fish there to level you up which makes your fishing bar bigger. You can catch fish on the farm, I don't think in the small pond though.
Mining pick can pick up an empty chest and nearly anything else you put down.
Check the TV every morning. Tips, cooking recipes, weather report, lucky days. I believe they mention things like scarecrows there as well, but you may have missed it.
I guarantee you don't have enough money for the backpack yet even though I can't see it. But yes, Pierre being closed on Wednesdays is a common complaint. I never realized that he sends you the message about the backpack on Wednesday though! 🤦‍♀
Looking forward to watching more from you while I play on my own farm as well. I'm working toward perfection in my current playthrough and it's getting a little grindy near the end, so I enjoyed watching your video while I went about my daily chores.
Glad you enjoyed your first time playing! See you next time.

    Making money with crops:
Always fertilize if you can (made from tree sap).
Every season has different crops that take different amounts of time to grow. Typically the longer the crop takes to grow the more money you will make off of them. But every season also has crops that can be planted once and then harvested over and over. For a multi-harvestable crop you want to plant them as early as possible to get the most out of them. Berries are fun because you get muliple at a time and you get them over the entire season.
Spring: $ is cauliflower and multiple harvest is green beans and strawberries.
Summer: $ is melons and there are a lot of multiple harvest crops. $ is blueberries. And i like coffe beans because you can replant each harvest. Same with sunflowers.
Fall: $ is pumpkins and multiple harvest $$ is cranberries.
I usually plant a couple of everything and keep some crops for later cooking and quests.

My biggest piece of advice in early game is to make friends with Carolyn (Pierre’s wife) so that she will give you the recipe for tea saplings. They are worth a lot of gold. Once you get to two hearts, go to her kitchen in the morning time and try to enter her sunroom.

Have fun! But you will! Myself been a gamer since the 80's but last few years haven't played any game much longer than a few hours, except for Gta5 and Cyperpunk.
With this game however, started about 3 weeks ago, already have 70 hours in and by now got a super nice comfy and cozy farm, married to one of the local girls and make about 400k a season with my little farm. Could be much more but I'm playing it to relax and not to become the richest farmer.
Either way, this game doesn't force you to do anything...that's the beauty of it. Can play it exactly how you want.
    it's insanely good and addictive.
When in real-life my kids and girl go to bed in the evening, i pick up my Switch and play for hours on end...really have to force myself to go to bed, otherwise i would be playing through the night...enjoying and improving my farm...just one more day...one more...
Dare i say it...its one of the best games ever made.
Once you get the hang of it, you'll be an expert farmer/money maker in no time!
Also, it's just fun, relaxing, designing your farm, watering your crops, feeding your animals, seeing your abandoned farm really bloom and come to life. It's truly a cozy game.

Awww bless! Playing the game for the first time! I love how I get to experience it new through you!
If you want to make actual money these tips will help you. According to the comments this is super spoilerly. I knew of the thing that was spoilerly in this game because... We'll. It's everywhere. It's like never watching star wars but knowing Darth Vader is Luke's dad. It's hard not to know. So. I guess come back to my comment after going into the town square from the bus stop between 8am-1pm on day 5.
Diversify! Make sure you fish (the hardest thing to do, at least until you level up!), go caving when it opens on day five, make sure you save enough money for strawberries on spring thirteenth (so sell everything you can bare to sell -NOT wood, please- to buy as many seeds as possible at 100g each), try to get most spring exclusive things (fish, plants you pick up from the ground/foragables, and fish) for the community centre!
Also... you can make MILLIONS, stinking MILLIONS... people will spend 70k on bread for a quest because they can't be bothered... once you're late game, that's peanuts.
You can't do everything every day... try to focus on one or two things at a time.
Also, check the tv. Luck is important for the mines--> easier ladders.
Also... sigh... you're on the beach farm. You will not be able to use sprinklers on the sand. You will want to prioritize your watering can upgrades. So check the weather on the tv... if it's going to rain tomorrow and you have enough money/smelted bars from the mines, you should water everything and hand in your watering can THAT day.
This is ideal, because the next day will be raining and you won't have to water. The day after rain, you can pick up your watering can and go home to water. Then you don't lose a watering day for your crops.
If you level up, you can stay up til 2:00am and pass out and there will be no energy deduction.
Anything after 12:00am will start deducting energy.
If you pass out at 2:00am you will incur a fee... can be up to 15K so I wouldn't push it. But if you have no money (keeping money zeroed out is a good idea) then there's no fee, just the energy loss for the next day.
    Anyway. I love this game.
Good luck on the beach farm... it's so cute. But the majority no sprinklers is a no for me!

The directions for the arcade game are under the main window when you start, wasd to move, directional arrows to shoot, and space to use items.
If you stay up after midnight you will be tired the next day, you will pass out at 2 am even if you are out and about. If you level up in a skill then you get all of your energy back even if you get into bed right before 2 am. If you pass out while outside your home then you lose some money (for various reasons) but you wake up in your own bed.
If the area was sand before you used your hoe you can't place sprinklers there, but you can place them on that rectangle of dirt where all the large logs are. I normally skip the first level of sprinklers because I don't think you get enough out of them to be worth the materials put in and it doesn't take long to get the second type.
A bigger bag can be purchased at Pierre's shop, there are two upgrades that each grant you another inventory row.
Fishing tends to be easier if you use many small fast clicks.
You can watch tv every day. There are channels to give you hints, tell you the weather for the next day, and tell you the days luck. If it's going to rain the next day you can plan to do something without having to make time to water your crops.
Those little statues all around are places you can eventually teleport to once you find and/or learn how to make the totems.
If you talk to people and give them gifts then their friendship goes up (you can check what it's at under the heart tab). Giving someone a gift they like on their birthday is worth extra friendship. People who like you will send you gifts in the mail or send you recipes to make once you can cook.
You may notice little wiggly worms or sticks in the ground as you are walking around, you can use your hoe to dig them up for a chance to find various things. Green ones give you seeds and black ones give you a random assortment of things from artifacts for the museum/library, clay, lost books that you can read in the museum/library for more game hints and secrets, stone, and other things. You can clear the weeds, boulders, and logs from all over the town and surrounding area to open up more spots for forageables to spawn. Forageables can spawn on any tile of green grass and are free for the taking like the daffodils. Playing single player means if you chop down the trees and clear the stumps in the forest south of your farm the trees will keep growing back over time. You will soon start getting tree seeds from shaking or cutting down trees as well so you can choose where to plant them on your farm.
Beside the calendar in town there is a quest board for quests that the towns folk you have talked to will offer and you will have two days to complete them from the day they are posted.
It is a good idea to set aside one or two of each item that you can find, fish, or farm so you have them on hand in case you need them for a quest or bundle.
This game is pretty chill because even if you somehow lose all your money and have no seeds you could still fish and forage to build up some money to rebuild. Don't worry about making mistakes as it's very easy to come back from them.
Just saw you have a second vid out so hopefully some of this is still useful.

Watch the tv daily. It's all useful. Luck and weather is a factor. Fish with the training rod til you can get the fiberglass and use bait. Bubbles are good. Clear the farm and plant crops. Always carry the hoe for worm spots in the dirt. Forage the entire map by Saturday before it resets on Sunday. Always check to see what you can craft. Chest can be handy even outside the farm but keep it out of the way of villagers pathing. Follow your journal. Don't sell what is labeled as resources. Gift on birthdays for sure. Gift base on personality or look it up. Shops will get new items as you level up, so check back. Bring food to the mines. Salmonberries and blackberries are plentiful free food not good for selling. Explore. Plan ahead. Always organize your inventory. Dont run around with things over your head. Remember you can always pause and Reset the day if you need to before the game saves. And that's the basics.

Using you scythe and picking up forage do not use energy, except maybe the spring onions since you are actually kind of harvesting them from in the soil rather than regular forage with is just laying on the ground.
If you haven’t done so yet, go into settings and set Auto Run on, you can also adjust FOV, among a few other things. I like to turn off flash because the lightening can be annoying or even uncomfortable at at times.
Don’t worry about missing out on events or anything, everything happens every year. Didn’t get this item you needed, you will next time. 🙂
