When you see the guy making the video getting electrocuted by the way he's cutting the wires, maybe he's not the guy to be making this video... Cut the wires ONE at a time and in a way that none of the wires can touch another exposed wire. Put them in salt water (regular water with some regular table salt mixed in) and let set for several days so that the cells are totally discharged and show 0 volts. THEN TAKE THEM TO SOMEWHERE THAT DISPOSES OR BATTERIES...usually the local hobby shop (or in my case, my local University) where they have a recycling or disposal process for the batteries. DO NOT JUST THROW THEM AWAY IN THE TRASH!
I was actually trying to cut them separately one by one but some still made contact with the pliers. I didn't get shocked, just scared from the sparkles. All was done outside in a safe area - do not try this at home or anywhere. If you do, you're responsible for your actions. It's a good show of what a depleted Lipo battery can do before the salt bath. And they are not thrown in the garbage but in some countries, you can't recycle them so that's the safe way to discharge them after you do your discharge cycle or resistor discharge. Thanks for watching the whole video without skipping and for the comment.
