While it is a great idea to make everything run on one type of fuel (the US Army does this) I suspect this was powered by gasoline for reasons that a gas engine is lighter. Then again this vehicle is obsolete and not in production anymore.
Doesn't get much lighter than an air cooled petrol engine. So yeah this engine makes a lot of sense. Asuming you want the thing to float, less weight usually means more float.

@@nickvervoorn Right. The wheels act as paddle wheels in the water. It's not designed for speed, but just enough propulsion to cross small bodies of water. The BMP also uses its tracks for propulsion (it is amphibious).
Hi Milo, I have a question for you, my scooter has 38 000 km, I was thinking to put some WD-40 on tank to restore the injection, but I don't know what kind of consequence WD-40 can have on the carburator, can you help me?
In my experience, it won't affect it that much. Just don't put too much in. WD40 doesn't burn as well as gasoline/petrol. The best thing you can do to clean the carburetor is taking it apart completely and then clean it.

Curious the use for something like this... Sub 100 horsepower(probably sub 75 from that parallel twin) Extremely low, so offroad is out. "Amphibious" if you want to be stuck on a water crossing going 2kph in wartime setting...
Not parallel twin, but a v4. Its more some sort of scouting or transport vehicle. Mastermilo’s version has a fence around it and fixed chairs, but the original had the capability to be completely flat. Both for transporting people on stretchers and staying unnoticed. The windshield can lay flat amd the steering wheel can be lowered to reduce its silhouette. And it needed to be transportable by air. So light and tiny.
It is almost ostensibly a low visibility battlefield support vehicle--a purpose-built niche vehicle for transporting the wounded on stretchers. Not a front line vehicle, nor was the WWII German Type 166 Schwimmwagen. The 166 had a fold down propeller for propulsion but wasn't much faster in the water, nor was its ground clearance much better. Neither were designed for crossing the Atlantic ocean

Ik heb met veel plezier de voortgang gevolgd en volgens mij is dit de eerste keer dat ik een afgerond project van mastermilo en co zie 😁. Nu nog hopen dat het gevaarte blijft drijven straks 🤞🏻. Ik zag trouwens laatst een documentaire over het paleis van de oud president van Ukraine en daar stond ook een Luaz in de collectie. Proost mannen, prettig weekend!

Watch the workshop vlog channel. They are prepping the main gun to put it back in the turret, and Milo has another two "tanks", a BMP with a winch and recovery crane, and a T-55 variant he recently bought, that is also a recovery vehicle (winch and crane).

Probably because that's light, small and cheap, and it's what they had. According to google, the engine was the same as in the ZAZ-965 civilian car.
