It's a very safe crossing - if you somehow get trapped between barriers they give you enough time to dismantle the car into pieces that will fit under it so you can reassemble it safely on the other side.
🤣. Yep.
👍
🤣🤣🤣
It did take a while lol!!
If it's an Italian car just going over the rails will shake the thing apart.
Fun fact: The length of the train was shorter than the video itself.
😆 exactly what i was thinking 🤣
😀😀😀
Lol. It was like waiting the results of a test!
Good thing after 2 minutes I kept skipping through it till the end, only to find out it's a useless clickbait video.
This train is the friend who says "I am near your home" but wouldn't have started from theirs
They patiently waited for over 6.5 minutes for the little two car train to pass by!! Cute little train though!
Having the gates down too long before a train comes is what causes people to get impatient and cross around the gates which leads to accidents. Happens all the time in the USA.
Tehran good
@@MiguelSantini19-57 Right. But there is only one vehicle the whole time. Every single person that we can see waiting on the gate is on a bike (i.e. pedestrian).
@@MiguelSantini19-57 But that was not your point at all.
The opening comment was that it "causes people to get impatient and cross around the gates." You say that you think a pedestrian could do it, but that a vehicle couldn't. Ergo, there is effectively no danger of a car crossing, while there remains the danger of a pedestrian crossing. The fact that this collection of about ten cyclists do not cross does not negate the observation.
It is dangerous to have it down too long. There simply is no need for it. We deal with crossing trains every day where I live. If such a wait happened each time, you can count on people saying screw it, I'm crossing.
If your time isnt more valuable than going around on a bike then sureley 5-10 minutes standing there wont matter that much!
@@MiguelSantini19-57 It is extremely easy to carry your bike around, which is exactly what I would have done
I was starting to think there was a system malfunction.
A took a while for arms to come down and a couple of months to see the train

Wow. They don't play around. That's the most ultra-super-extra-incredibly maximum safe railroad crossing ever. Over six minutes. That's like safe + some. Almost a middle finger in your face amount of safe.
It's probably mainly because tunnel derailments are some of the worst you can have, and with the tunnel opening onto a road they don't want to take any chances with having an accident there
Yes it is civilised Europe, not America
We stopped with a long line of cars for a similar time period at a rail crossing in Sicily. On a more recent tour of Provence we had to stop and wait in a village street for 20 mins while a meat supplies truck was unloading at a butcher. I even went for a walk about the village taking photos while we waited.

This rail crossing is very close to one of the two entrances to the Strait of Barba ("Stretto di Barba" in Italian, 41°02'26"N, 14°46'39"E), in the municipality of Chianche (province of Avellino, Campania region, South Italy), not far from Ceppaloni, a small village well known all over Italy for its most eminent citizen, Clemente Mastella, an important catholic politician. It's really a wonderful place, once haunted by bandits and also connected to the legend of the witches of Benevento (sometimes it has even been identified with the Caudine Forks, where the Samnite warriors, in the year 321 b.C., entrapped and humiliated their Roman enemies), but it's such a big sin that the Sabato river, which flows through these beautiful gorges after crossing the industrial area of Pianodardine, is so polluted that many fishes are scarily deformed (I know that for sure because I was so reckless that I used to go fishing there when I was a boy, and sometimes I still dream of that dirty and stinky water): fishing and any other recreational activities have actually been forbidden in the last years along that river. My grandfather was once stopped by bandits in these gorges, but when they realized he was dressed in mourning, because he had recently lost a 22 years old daughter in a car accident, they gave up on robbing him and let him go away. May God have forgiven all their sins for that single act of humanity!
I traveled on that road for work, every day for almost ten years, from Avellino to Benevento. Once, because there was some gravel on the road just before the level crossing, I had to stop for a train coming, but the wheels of my Fiat Duna slipped on the gravel, and I rammed in to the back of a cyclist! He didn't get hurt fortunately! That place is named "Lo Stetto di Barba". There is river that flows parallel to the road and in summer time it's very cool.

It's caused by the fact that the signal protecting the level crossing is located 3.2 km away from the station, and it needs to be clear before the train reaches it. Unfortunately closing the gates that early and for so long only encourages scofflaws to go around, under, or over the gates, especially if it is the norm for all crossings or for one particular crossing. Beautiful location, etc. What happens when an ambulance cannot respond for a call on the other side of the rails for nearly ten minutes? I think Italian patience would wear thin if one's own family were bleeding to death under those circumstances.

'cept not in Italy
There are others roads to get on the other side if there's necessity, we don't worry. And yes, on the older lines almost all the gates are like this but even on the newest ones the gates close earlier and for a long time, we know it so we don't fret, we wait patiently.

I Think the Gates closed before the train Starts at the last Station.
So the traffic controller can Stop the train wenn the gates are broken.
@@glx1987 yes, in most of the case it is like that: gates are being closed once the traffic controller commands the train to depart from the station. If the gates are being "damaged" in this phase, controller will see it and the entire system won't allow him to let the train depart.
If gates get damaged while the train has already departed from the station, there's no 100% chance to stop the train...

Moral of the story. Slow down, enjoy the ride. Life can be more relaxed...if we'll take the time to let it be that way.
Sure had that crossing shut down for a long time. Here in the states, from the time the gates went down to the time they came back up, could have cross 2 mile and half long freight trains plus cleared all of the backed up traffic.

Admirable.
We do that here too, Don
Thank God that it's a lovely spot, shaded with birds singing (at least in good weather). Otherwise, the wait would be unbearable.
Short train, but it kills by sure. Safety Is a serious matter.
That was a crazy long period of time to wait for the train to pass.

No it is Right time for safety
SIX minutes??!! What do they do, close all of the gates on the line, load the tram at the first stop and "then" start the journey?
