Adventures of Batman and Robin for Genesis is one of the most impressive 16 bit games ever created. Clockwork programmed the entire thing in assembly, hence the insane scaling effects on hardware that didn't natively support it. It looks better than most ps1 games.Throw in a challenge, smooth gameplay and one of Jesper Kyd's finest soundtracks and you have a classic.
I agree with 75% of what you said...80%...maybe 82%. Batman and Robin does indeed look ridiculous on the Genesis. It's one of the best graphically of its generation. However, I do not think it looks better than the majority of PSX games. It might have aged better than the 3D games, but there are 2D games it can't hope to compare with. Why would it? The Playstation is by far a more advanced console in every conceivable way.
Shadowrun for Genesis is a great game, and hands down the best one, just avoid enemies until you get a good weapon. How to get into the game: get few jobs done, retrive your brother's stuff, then do jobs in other parts of the town to get a lot more money and you should be able to log into the Matrix and that's where things get really interesting. It's a VERY hard game.
Time and time again you two show me just how little I know about so many classic games, amazes me every time! Thanks for the many hours of solid entertainment.
Game Sack It's been 2 episodes, and you mentioned in this one that you got suggestions for this video from the comments in the last one, so I posted a few. So I'm not sure why you replied that way.
Shaun Ginty I replied that way because it assumes that there will be no more entries in the series. If they're not in this episode, maybe the next time we do this they will be. Or maybe the time after that. Your comment is very similar to those that say "You forgot Ninja Gaiden, etc". We didn't forget. We just chose to cover other things in this episode. We're happy with suggestions, just not those accusing us of neglecting to put them in a specific episode. :)
I have an idea for an episode: "Same game, different name." There are games that were released on different regions or consoles with little modification and a different name. Contra & Robotron. Doki Doki panic & SMB2. Tecmo cup & captain Tsubasa........ you guys are the experts and can find more obsecure examples ;)
Some quick IDEAS for future Episodes: Games with horrible voice acting, Games game breaking bugs (Escape of Monkey Island is one of them), Adventure Games on Consoles (Glass Rose), Rythem Games like Gitaroo Man, Mad Maestro, Games that SCREAM Japan all over the place (heavily influenced by Japanese culture), Left in USA (Mega Man X Compilation), Left in EUROPE/Japan (The Simple Series), GAMES that aren't well known (Rule of Rose), GAME sequels that failed in 3D (Castlevania 64), Franchises that failed in a new genre ( Castlevania for the Wii), Clones that are better than their original, Games that take place in a Western setting (Samurai Western PS2), Games that are published by XXX (505 Games, CAPCOM, Konami), Forgotten games (Mobile Suit Gundam Arcade Games - Federation vs. Zeon) Strategy games on consoles (Herzog Zwei, a obvious one), Left in JAPAN Rainbow Man Wii, Games based on cartoons (Gregory Horror Show), Arcade type of games (Under the Skin, The Red Star), Mario Kart Clones (Freaky Flyers, Space Race) And so on and so on. I suppose you have a LOT of ideas either ,-)
Games with the worst voice acting is good topic. I would like gamesack to please cover Resident evil on the ps one and Dreamcast's house of the dead in their awesome way.
The skit at the end where Dave is telling Joe rare/valuable games are worthless, while saying the junk is high value, is hilarious. I guess that was the idea though.
THANK YOU for covering the Batman and Robin games and the Shadowrun games!!!! Just as a side note to Dave on the Genesis version of Shadowrun...the maps for the areas in the game are in the back of the manual. :) As usual, a great episode...and I am super Jealous of Joe's collection!
This show has to be the best produced on RUclips. The quality is astounding every episode. I have almost worked my way through every one of them. Great job, guys...and gal. :-)
Not sure if anyone has said this or even aware of it, but Fun Fact: Someone is working on a translation Patch for Shadowrun for the Sega CD. I think its still a long ways off from being finished but thought you'd like to know.
I believe there was actually another Power Rangers game on the SNES; this one just called "Might Morphin Power Rangers" (minus 'the movie' in the title). It was also a beat 'em up, but with 3 1 on 1 Zord fights at the end.
Yes. Also, there were actually 4 SNES Power Rangers games, the other two being Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition (a fighting game featuring Megazords and monsters and using the same engine as a Gundam fighting game) and Power Rangers Zeo: Battle Racers (a Mario Kart clone; no, I have no idea what they were thinking, either)
In Shadowrun for Genesis, just don't be a Samurai. Be a decker or shaman. Samurai really really sucks. Get your cyberdeck and jack in to the matrix. Then you'll start having some more fun. Raid some corporations and hack their security and grenade some doors.
Game Sack If you're having trouble near the start of the game, then its worth abusing the fact that you walk faster when going diagonally (no idea why) then you can get some more distance before you try to shoot them. Alternatively, if you get far enough away that they aren't on screen anymore you can just enter a building. You should definitely give the game another go, its one of my favourite games on the mega drive.
goodall18 It;s not worth abusing, it's pretty much required. I think Shadowrun is definitely dated, but I really got into the world when that game came out. My friends all started playing the pen and paper Shadowrun because of this game too. I was never that into pen and paper games, but I played a bit.
Uncle Joey Yeah. I kind of dislike doing that because it makes the game a bit too easy and repetitive. That's definitely the best way to earn cash. I like the matrix runs personally, but I try not to do that much when I play these days.
The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Genesis is one of my favorite soundtracks ever. I find myself looking up the music on RUclips on a regular basis.
David White rotaryfreak3 I recorded the music from my Genesis to listen to elsewhere. But I think I need to do that again since I rebuilt the pre-amp in my Genesis. Now I can do it with less distortion. Damn Dave now I have to make re-record Cart Tunes. All of them! Oh man I wish I had the time.
Worth mentioning the main mechanic in shining is your cursed sword eats life energy so if you don’t kill enemies fast enough it will start to absorb your life hence all the enemies your killing
Dave's right, I always had a thing for the Pink Ranger, Kimberly (shaa-WING). But I find it strange that, when in her suit, they pretty much use the same sprite as the guys', just in a different color.
Definitely need to include Ninja Gaiden in the next episode of this series. The difference between the original arcade and the home console versions are drastic!
Jesper Kyd's soundtracks are simply amazing. Especially the Batman one. It's weird how they don't get boring when stages can take up to half an hour, but they really don't.
I like Shadowrun for sega genesis quite a bit. It was one of my favorite games back in the day and I've beaten it numerous times throughout the years. Yeah the start of the game can be really tough, but once you get deeper into the game it gets easier and more interesting. It has a really nice skill tree where you can level up any skills, including melee, ranged combat, magic and computer hacking skills. You unlock new areas and quest givers as you progress. You can upgrade your equipment, including cyberwear. The computer hacking is pretty interesting. It will help in missions, or you can use it outside of missions to steal files from corporations and sell them.
The Shadowrun games are great. If you wanna give Shadowrun on Genesis another go, just do courier missions at the beginning to rack up some karma and money (you can do them as many times as you like) That way you'll be better equipped to handle the enemies. It starts off as a bit of a grind but gets a lot better some time in. Also, you missed the opportunity to cover 2007 Shadowrun for the Xbox360 and PC, but I can't really fault you since as a multiplayer-only game it's most likely long dead. Could have been worth a mention though.
David White You can just duck into a building to ditch them. Also (if I remember right) it's a lot easier to make money as Decker doing hacking missions.
David White Really? I guess I'm remembering it wrong, it's been a lot of years. Still, I never did have problems with getting killed a lot early on. I must have just run away a lot and stuck to the safer areas.
You guys forgot about Sparkster. It's the sequel for Rocket Knight Adventures (was a Genesis game)They released Sparkster on both Super Nintendo and Genesis. Both are completely different games with similar style. They are both great in their own ways. Check it out!
Dave, I hope you find the patience you require in order to play Shadowrun for the Genesis. It is such an awesome and rewarding game. Once you get through the early stuff the game really opens up, and you can lose yourself in extra side missions, or push on with the main quest... it's totally up to you. The game was way closer to the table-top RPG than the SNES version was (though the SNES one was every bit as good, for totally different reasons), and had really deep game play. The matrix portions were great and really immersed you in the setting. Not sure what you meant by there not being much music in the SNES version. There is music everywhere in the game. I like that they used subdued/ambient stuff in the matrix and the graveyards etc... and I think the opening scene has the best music on the entire SNES library, hands down. The soundtrack really nails the cyber-punk theme and it is one of the only SNES games I routinely listen to on my ipod. tl;dr, I hope you give the Genesis version another shot, it was simply amazing. Keep up the good work guys, your videos are consistently great and I am always happy when I notice you have uploaded a new video.
Thanks! I will give the game another chance. I own it so it's not going anywhere. On the SNES version I had the music turned off in the options. A dumb mistake on my part.
Shadow Dancer and Ghostbusters were the main reasons of me getting a Genesis. It's a shame to hear Shadow Dancer is so overlooked because it's probably the best Shinobi sequel ever made. And yeah it's better than the arcade version too.
Dave, Darkwing Duck on the NES actually used a modified version of Megaman 5's engine, which is why it plays so much like the blue bomber's games. Great Video guys, but if you do another, cover Sparkster!
I disagree with you guys about the music in Power Rangers the movie on Genesis. I loved the songs because they were 16-bit versions of all of the fight songs from the show. I even found myself singing along to the ones that have lyrics
Shadowrun on the Mega Drive is a great game. The game has a deep story, great combat once you have leveled up, the matrix combat is amazing and I can go on. You should give the game a second chance.
SEGA Genesis's Alien3 game is a good one. Controls / gameplay can be a bit frustrating at times but they're still easy to handle & as for the others points : nice visuals with some cool parallax + great music! + lil' scoring stuff which increase the replay value = a fine game overall.
Hooray Shadowrun! You should really give the Genesis version another shot. At the beginning of the game everyone you encounter is augmented in some way, whether cybernetically or magically and you're just a regular dude so yea, you die a lot but it gets easier after some upgrades. Anyway, "Johnsons" are mission givers, "runs" are missions and upon completion of runs you receive "NuYen" or money to buy upgrades so you don't die as much. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good 16 bit RPG. I just need to track down a copy of the SNES version.
The SNES version of MMPR: The Movie is honestly my favorite SNES game. It's a lot of fun to play, and it has an awesome original soundtrack. The Genesis version, however, isn't very good. Enemies take too long to defeat, the backgrounds are pretty forgettable, their attempt at having an actual story that follows the movie is pretty pathetic since it randomly goes to flashbacks of Season 2 of the show in order to pad out the game, and Tommy really gets shafted in the Megazord stages, as the White Tigerzord Warrior Mode and Falcon Zord are far less powerful than the Thunder Megazord and Ninja Megazord, respectively.
Absolutely loved Shinobi for the Sega Master System. Nothing more gratifying than making it to the final boss with the gun and the chain. And good call on Shadow Dancer for the Genesis. I couldn't believe that I actually liked a home console version of a game better than the arcade. I beat it on expert mode/no shurikens about 23 years ago and remember there were no female hostages for power ups, bosses had twice the health, and if you finish the game it says "The End" as opposed to "To Be Continued..." on easier levels. Nice vid guys!
Oh my goodness. I'm having a fangirl moment right now. David White responded to me. But anyway thank you for making me feel more like a normal person lol
I really like the Genesis version of Shadowrun, I have played through it multiple times and never had issues with constantly dying. Make sure you avoid the southern area where all of the Halloweeners hang out until you're able to get yourself a better gun and armor. Do a few of the fetch jobs that the first Johnson offers you to build up a bit of cash, and if he offers you a job that takes you near the southern part of the map, don't accept it. Talk to him again and he'll offer you a new job, they're randomized.
You forgot about the Game Gear version of Beavis & Butthead; to be honest, y'all aren't missing much as it looks incomprehensible. Also, the creators of the 3DS Shinobi went on to create a new indie studio (named Crazy Viking Studios) to create a Ghouls 'N' Ghosts-Rastan hybrid called Volgarr the Viking for the PC. It's an awesome game I would recommend checking out.
guys dont ever quit the end skits. ive come to look forward to those almost as much as the episode itself. i just wish they could be a bit longer. just a bit like 5 mins, but my fav are the ones where dave abandons joe for having 'lame' consoles and comes back later and rewards him for getting 'good' setups. Anyway, looking forward to the next vid.. thanks mates
Surprised you didn't mention the Xbox 360 game called Shadowrun. It was a Counterstrike-esque FPS with good gameplay and some clever ideas. The game was online only, and as such it's now dead as a doornail, so your footage would likely be limited to training mode. Still, it existed, and was called Shadowrun.
I was familiar with the differences between the Beavis and Butt-Head, Shinobi and Batman & Robin games, but the rest I wasn't aware of. Another really good episode guys. Hilarious ending to boot.
I... I think Dave might have sold me on a Power Rangers game. I do like beat-'em-ups, and both versions of Power Rangers: The Movie appealed to me based on footage and description. Now I have to keep my eyes open at my usual retro stops for one (or both) of these. Also: The Adventures of Batman & Robin for both Genesis and SNES now have my attention, despite my general lack of knowledge about this IP's source material. I either didn't know or conveniently forgot that WOW Entertainment had a hand in the design of Nightshade for the PS2. Honestly, I've been halfheartedly looking for it since I found Shinobi for cheap (which Joe covered here), but now I'm more intrigued... because WOW. It's the little things, I guess. Thanks for another really enjoyable video-- and the ending skit still has me laughing, as I type this. You guys rock. (But you already know that.)
I personally like the Genesis version of the Power Rangers The Movie game, due to the music being closer to the show and the character sprites being more accurate, unlike it's SNES counterpart.
I hope you guys do a third episode of this series. Some other same name, different games that I can think are Sparkster, Taz Mania, Home Alone, and Jurassic Park.
Dragon's Lair also is one that had radically different gameplay on every console. Among 8-16bit *consoles* the Gameboy Color was the only one to attempt the quicktime style original gameplay. Impressive too for what they crammed into a GB color cartridge.
There is two reasons as for why the Sega CD version of Shadowrun is a Japanese exclusivity. The first is that "Japanese" Shadowrun isn't the same as "International" Shadowrun, because in the original, Japan is like a dictatorship and puts all "non humans" in goulags so the japanese version of the game was changed. The second reason is that the game actually is the adaptation of a novel series set in the Shadowrun universe, this was a rather common thing in Japan to make novels based on tabletop role playing games
That's one possible reason, but another could be that it's on the 3ds and people refer to it as Shinobi 3D because of that. Just like how people refer to Sonic the Hedgehog on Xbox 360 as Sonic 06
The PS1 game was not called Alien 3, but rather part of the three mini-FPS release called Alien Trilogy. Also released around the same time as Die Hard Trilogy on the PS1 and Saturn. I'm not sure if they covered Die Hard on the NES and PC-Engine, though.
Just two random things: If the music playing during the part showing Mega CD Shadowrun is from that game, it definitely uses some Sega CD PCM in the music like the "past" stages in Sonic CD do. Also I agree with Dave in that I also like the Gameboy's chararacteristic sound chip.
I am on the verge of completely writing Dave off for his review of Shadowrun on the sega genesis. Just because you guys are bad at video games and can not understand how to play a game you write it off. Also really bad job reviewing Sega CD version of Shadowrun because you would realize that it has a battle system similar to Shining Force. I really expected more from you guys. I love your other episodes but you guys totally dropped the ball on this one. Also I am a Nintendo guy and even I can understand that Shadowrun is better on the Genesis if you put your time into it. Learn how to play a game before reviewing it. The damn footage you showed was you shooting neutral enemies that weren't even hostile. Stick to reviewing stupid boring platformers because anything other than that is too hard for you. My god. I can't even imagine you guys reviewing in depth games made by companies like Koei. There is a reason why so many people hold Shadowrun on the Genesis as one of the best games on the system. If I was a reviewer inclined to trash a game I would look deeper into it to show why I disliked it to make a more valid point.
LukeTSManager You might be on to something but... I wonder why Dave picked Genesis versions of two different games in this very episode as his favorite then.
Cheers for doing the Alien³ comparison, but why such hate for the film? Okay, the theatrical release wasn't too great and for years I considered it mediocre when compared to the first two films, but when the Assembly Cut was released on dvd in 2003, I was blown away! THAT was the version of the film we should have had in 1992!
Really cool video, once again! Before part 1, I didn't even know about games that are different but shared the same name ( apart from reboot). Can't wait for part 3 (please).
Ironically, the PAL Batman Forever Woolworths Box Set is one of the rarest and most expensive games on the SNES. Even more rare than treasures like the Donkey Kong Competition cart and Starfox Super Weekend according to many collectors.
I don't know if this is remedied in a latter episode (I'm watching them in order) but Castle of Illusion (SMS vs Mega Drive) and Sonic Unleashed are two other examples I guess.
Ninja Gaiden had FIVE different games under the same name - an arcade beat-em-up, three different 2D platformers (NES, Game Gear, Master System), and a 3D action game for the Xbox. There was even a sixth game also called Ninja Gaiden canceled on the Genesis. Great series all around.
Great show!! Here are a few examples of “same name, different game” that I can think of: Jurassic Park - SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, 3DO…are there any two that are alike? Dragon’s Lair - NES, SNES….nothing like the arcade. Also, the Gamecube and Xbox 3D remakes Space Ace - SNES….nothing like the arcade Strider - NES, different from any other version of the game Bionic Commando - NES, different from the arcade version Willow - NES, different from the arcade version Doom - N64, unique Toki - Genesis, pretty different level design from other ports of the game Terminator - SNES, Genesis, Sega CD (weak example, but they are definitely not the same game)
Shadowrun for the SNES's story seems to be inspired by the 1980s cyberpunk novel Neuromancer. The concept of the "matrix" and "jacking in" is first mentioned in that book, and even features a character named Armitage too. Currently reading it :-)
Adventures of Batman and Robin for Genesis is one of the most impressive 16 bit games ever created. Figures Joe would figure out a way to put 6 Shinobi games in this episode. I approve.
Could've done more, as there are two "Revenge of Shinobi" games also.
Nightshade on the PS2 was called "Kunoichi" in Japan, Kunoichi being the female version of Shinobi. IIRC they were supposed to be in the same series.
Yep!
Time and time again you two show me just how little I know about so many classic games, amazes me every time! Thanks for the many hours of solid entertainment.
Awesome! Thanks.
Also. I loled at calling the Pink Ranger cute, because the SNES version uses the same male body type sprite for all 5 rangers when they wear the suits
Lol
I think we can agree that the actress on the show was cute, though.
Also they're supposed to be teenagers lol the pink ranger is around 15yrs old in the show😂
@@jcruz5050 *police siren noise*
I've noticed that a lot of people here, many of which who are actually asking questions, do not allow replies to their comments. Strange.
I think you missed a few obvious ones. Ninja Gaiden Arcade, NES, and Xbox are all different. Also Strider Arcade/Genesis, and Strider for NES
Shaun Ginty
Were we supposed to include them all in this single episode?
I've seen multiple channels/uploaders complain that there's missing Reply-buttons in the past week. Weird.
Game Sack

horrible voice acting? resident evil 4 of course
Games with the worst voice acting is good topic. I would like gamesack to please cover Resident evil on the ps one and Dreamcast's house of the dead in their awesome way.
tonytigeer haha yes, but resident evil and house of the dead are very good games, with bad voice acting
They just did the terrible voice acting games episode!
You should really watch the extended version of Alien 3, it is by far a better movie and you'd be surprised at how different the movie is.
The skit at the end where Dave is telling Joe rare/valuable games are worthless, while saying the junk is high value, is hilarious. I guess that was the idea though.
man i love this channel so much. it is the hidden gem of youtube

I toured with GWAR and have been buddies with them for 20 years. Nice to hear you talk about them.
GWAR!!!
A LOT of Shinobi series love in this episode!
Isn't there always?
Always look forward to game sack on a Sunday, it's the first thing I do. Sunday mornings. Get over a hangover and watch some. 'Sack.

True, but that's (very) compressed audio.
You must find the time Joe! I demand it.

That's because the fighting and Zord scenes where actually footage from a Japanese show, and the pink ranger is actually a dude in that one.
It’s the yellow ranger that was a dude not the pink

Jesus christ when you said Beavis and Butthead gameboy was a run and gun shooter and the first level is a school you had me a bit worried
Came in in 2023 to say that it's practically an American tradition by now.
If someone hasn't mentioned it already, the dog in the arcade version of Shadow Dancer only attacks when you press down and attack... it's not random.
Yes I will eventually try it again. Courier missions are easy enough until you start getting followed.
David White You can just duck into a building to ditch them. Also (if I remember right) it's a lot easier to make money as Decker doing hacking missions.
Actually you can't go into any buildings when you are being followed. That really sucked as it would have saved my life many many times.
David White Really? I guess I'm remembering it wrong, it's been a lot of years. Still, I never did have problems with getting killed a lot early on. I must have just run away a lot and stuck to the safer areas.
I had no idea about Shadowrun on Sega CD! There is a fan translation project for it and I'm so amped to go hunt this game down in my upcoming trip
What about an episode where you cover games that are rip-offs of other games? Tetris alone could probably fill a half hour.
You guys forgot about Sparkster. It's the sequel for Rocket Knight Adventures (was a Genesis game)They released Sparkster on both Super Nintendo and Genesis. Both are completely different games with similar style. They are both great in their own ways. Check it out!
Man i love these same name different game episodes!
I love your mom!
David White OOOOOOOOHHHHH G8 B8 M8 I R8 8/8
She's a little hottie for sure, haha
Man, the music for Shadowrun on the SNES is legendary!
I'm sure this has already been suggested, but Dave, Castlevania for the NES & Castlevania for the N64. If there is ever a part three that is.
Oh &, BTW, the Genesis version is the best one. The Amiga version is not bad but doesn't run fullscreen with its added HUD bar & lacks the parallax.
Another great episode from the greatest channel in youtube.
Keep it up guys!
PS: My favourite Alien 3 version is on Master System (for some reason).
It's also my favourite version of Alien 3, it's one of the best looking Master System games too imo!
I love the skit at the end so much I went back and enjoyed it again. "Batman Forever, you are mine forever."
Is it weird that I get so excited when a new GameSack video comes out? I think my husband thinks so lol
I don't think it's weird. There's other youtube channels that I get excited for when they put out new content.
Oh my goodness. I'm having a fangirl moment right now. David White responded to me. But anyway thank you for making me feel more like a normal person lol
murdahboo
Don't get excited. I sure don't when Dave talks to me.
Lol Ok. You guys have officially made my entire month! Now Joe has responded to me. Life=complete. Now to just finish raising my children...
How old are your children? I have a 6 year old daughter and that's a handful. More then one would be really hard.
You should check out Shinobi on the Game Gear. It's my favourite of the lot.
Yeah I didn't include those because the title screen is Shinobi GG.
21:10 "It plays really well and you can duck".....
I see what you did there, Dave.
Great ep guys :) loving the look of the Batman games.
It's pretty cool how you made the title rhyme like that. Can you do one about me?
Rogaface is in our face tryin' to get us to rhyme all over da place.
Game Sack Thank you so much Joe you have made my heart sing
guys dont ever quit the end skits. ive come to look forward to those almost as much as the episode itself. i just wish they could be a bit longer. just a bit like 5 mins, but my fav are the ones where dave abandons joe for having 'lame' consoles and comes back later and rewards him for getting 'good' setups.
Another great episode guys. I sure wish you guys did weekly episodes but I guess genius takes time.
I always liked Darkwing Duck better than Megaman. Mostly because of less trial and error and because you can duck. Get it? Duck?
What a fowl pun.
Horzzo I know, when it comes to puns I'm such a quack
Ghost81 I really laughed with your puns, please, continue!
protossevolution I would continue, but I'm out of quarters =(
+Ghost81 It took until X5 for any side-scrolling Mega Man to be able to duck without a dash or slide. ...Which X then forgot three games later.
That ending skit made my day. You guys are amazing.
Will there ever be a 'Same Game, Different Name'?
Great episode, as always.. long live Game Sack!
Beavis and Butthead on the Genesis was infinitely bet then the SNES version.
Totally. And in spite of that it still sucked.
Salahh Salahj
Briand games
There's also one of those "interactive movie" versions for the Mega CD/Sega CD.
+Neoand12 Agree 100% Ahhh, the memories...
New game sack? New reason to hit the like button.
Dragon's Lair also is one that had radically different gameplay on every console. Among 8-16bit *consoles* the Gameboy Color was the only one to attempt the quicktime style original gameplay. Impressive too for what they crammed into a GB color cartridge.
I just don't understand why some people don't like Alien 3. I consider it a masterwork.
I think Shinobi 3D is the Japanese name. Not entirely sure, though.
That would make sense since the soundtrack (OST) is called Shinobi 3D.
That's one possible reason, but another could be that it's on the 3ds and people refer to it as Shinobi 3D because of that. Just like how people refer to Sonic the Hedgehog on Xbox 360 as Sonic 06

Great videos, great channel, mates, keep up the good work.
Jungle Book on Genesis is clearly the better game, almost as usual ;D
lol, Jake Armitage makes a cameo in the Shadowrun Returns game. :D
You guys forgot about Alien 3 on the NES. It's an okay game...I just hate how the aliens appear out of nowhere.
Great episode. :)
They also had a Sega Master System and Game Gear version; however, like the NES game, they are more or less copies of the Genesis version.
PinMike
I haven't played the SMS version yet...but yeah, the NES one is like the Genesis version. Still a tough game though.
And the PS1
The PS1 game was not called Alien 3, but rather part of the three mini-FPS release called Alien Trilogy. Also released around the same time as Die Hard Trilogy on the PS1 and Saturn. I'm not sure if they covered Die Hard on the NES and PC-Engine, though.
PinMike Mustave been cancelled cause i have a old EGM2 mag that has a promo for Alien 3 on PS1, says 3 not Trilogy.
Another great video guys! Thank you!
You heathens! Alien 3 is a fantastic movie and very underrated. Fuck da haterz, I stand with Alien 3 allday erryday!
The game still sucks though.
As usual guys, great video. You guys have become a staple in my Sunday morning wake up routine.
Marilyn Monroe in a Shinobi game?
There's a winning combo!
Just two random things: If the music playing during the part showing Mega CD Shadowrun is from that game, it definitely uses some Sega CD PCM in the music like the "past" stages in Sonic CD do. Also I agree with Dave in that I also like the Gameboy's chararacteristic sound chip.
Does Dave's wife know about this obsession Dave has with the Pink Ranger? Such a hotie! jk
Nope and she never will.
Kimberly was pretty hot, and her actress STILL is.
Angie2343 Alpha-5! 😂
Super happy to see more content coming from Game Sack. I love this show!
The show more and more just feels like two guys trying to trash games on other systems that aren't their favorite. Pretty upsetting.
LukeTSManager
You might be on to something but... I wonder why Dave picked Genesis versions of two different games in this very episode as his favorite then.
Game Sack
He picked it that time because he couldn't put forth more than 20 mins of game time to review a game.
thank you again, both of you, for the nice 30 min!
There is even another Nightshade game, made by Ultimate Play the Game, for 8-bit computers.
I'm glad to see a couple of my suggestions made it to this video, thanks Game Sack!
How you did NOT mention that on the Snes, the Power Rangers are all reskins of the frikkin red ranger, really blows my mind.
Cap'n Crunch plus Game Sack makes a great way to start a Sunday.
WOW great episode guys. always the best thing on RUclips.
I don't know if this is remedied in a latter episode (I'm watching them in order) but Castle of Illusion (SMS vs Mega Drive) and Sonic Unleashed are two other examples I guess.
Great idea for a video series. Congrats.
I love that your intros are not too long nor too loud. Way to do proper post production.
you what about the shadowrun game for thexbox 360/ pc? it's COMPLETELY different to those other shadowrun games iv'e never even heard of
Ninja Gaiden had FIVE different games under the same name - an arcade beat-em-up, three different 2D platformers (NES, Game Gear, Master System), and a 3D action game for the Xbox. There was even a sixth game also called Ninja Gaiden canceled on the Genesis. Great series all around.
Great show!! Here are a few examples of “same name, different game” that I can think of:
Jurassic Park - SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, 3DO…are there any two that are alike?
Dragon’s Lair - NES, SNES….nothing like the arcade. Also, the Gamecube and Xbox 3D remakes
Space Ace - SNES….nothing like the arcade
Strider - NES, different from any other version of the game
Bionic Commando - NES, different from the arcade version
Willow - NES, different from the arcade version
Doom - N64, unique
Toki - Genesis, pretty different level design from other ports of the game
Terminator - SNES, Genesis, Sega CD (weak example, but they are definitely not the same game)
The Immortal John Lambchop has ALL of these games, boxed, in double-mint gum condition.
Shadowrun for the SNES's story seems to be inspired by the 1980s cyberpunk novel Neuromancer. The concept of the "matrix" and "jacking in" is first mentioned in that book, and even features a character named Armitage too. Currently reading it :-)
