I felt a disturbance in the force at the end of this episode, as if thousands of collectors suddenly cried out at once...
Great comment.
How. Fucking. DARE HE!!!
I thought it was brilliant.
The freaking Box😭.
I screamed at my tv when that box was ripped open.
Don't do that to me again Game Sack , it hurts too much!
😭
I'm not 100% sure why but this is one of my favorite reviews of Game Sack.
Maybe it's because you both give your impressions on the same game, that's a nice twist and maybe that should be done more.
I actually yelled "OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD"[/Troll 2] when he tore open that Tetris box
"I might even play it someday", every person with a backlog EVER! Classic.

Thank god! I almost had a heart attack when he did that...
How did you do that scene ?
I feel better now.
I don't quite understand why a game that was sooo common like Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt, could be so rare. I would think the Tetris version from Tengen would be more rarer.
I don't know what's funnier, the way Dave ripped throughout that box or the predictable way some people would be upset by it. Great stuff.
*****
I was gonna say the exact same thing.
Same bat time, same bat channel, same bat name, different bat game!
If we're counting handheld titles, the GameBoy Advance version of Bionicle Heroes is a pleasant surprise, a top-down shooter with colorful graphics, good levels and some of the best music to ever come out of the GameBoy Advance's speakers. Definitely a forgotten gem on the GBA.
Oh man I've passed that up several times. Nice tip!
The GBA version of Pitfall The Lost Expedition is quite possibly my favourite in the series, yet it's so unknown to most people. The GBA has a lot of those overlooked gems.
The Teen Titans GBA is a kind of cool old school style side scroller where you switch between characters on the fly.
You destroyed a mint NES Tetris box?! I damn near cried.
Did we?
😫Is it a fake box?@@GameSack
"Reggie Feelsaman" had me dying, lol.
I dunno why your show is so addictive. Simple, but entertaining.
Game Sack
Holy crap.
In Episode 34 of Game Sack (8 and 16-bit Disney Games), Dave and Joe were really harsh on both the Genesis and SNES versions of Aladdin, proclaiming each to be mainly average platformers. Now they're singing it's praises like nothing else! Most notably, previously Joe said the Genesis music was awful and now he's saying it's better than the SNES! It's a complete 180!
What happened? Did the Committee for Everyone Should Have The Same Opinion give you a less-than-peaceful warning to shape up?
The C.E.S.H.S.O. wishes it to be known that they had no involvement in Game Sack's change of opinion. If we _were_ involved, then you'd easily be able to tell.
Maybe changed their minds after playing the other mediocre licensed games on this episode?
A few that come to mind to maybe toss into part 2...
Darkwing Duck (NES/TG16)
Crackdown (360/Arcade)
Overlord (PS3&360/C64)
Shadowrun (SNES/Genesis)
Ninja Gaiden (Arcade/NES/SMS)
Dante's Inferno (C64/PS3&360)
Metal Gear (MSX/NES)
I actually cringed when Tetris' box was torn.
probably is a custom box
I doubt it was real but considering the amount of rapped Tetris boxes its worth 30 in that condition.
I didn't. What makes me cringe is idiots keeping games sealed, or buying games just for the sake of having a sealed copy. It is hording.
well, if you keep a sealed copy as the time goes on, you can sell it for a lot... and a mint condition collection isn't bad either... the problem is the money.... i buy things for cheap and my "collection" looks like crap...
deathaxe I'd rather just play the game as well, but if I ever come across a sealed copy of something I'd sell it on the and buy a loose one for a fraction of the price. No point in denying someone the opportunity to get a game sealed.
Great Episode, and the ending had me in stitches. I nearly spit my drink out on the screen when you "delicately" opened the box.
Great episode guys. It's always cool how each episode has its own theme showing different games rather than just reviewing a single game for the sake of it. Again great episode and great channel
Thank You!
Tommy Tallarico composed the music for Genesis Aladdin?
Mind. Blown.
Fantastic episode as always, gentlemen. Keep it rockin!
Much love from Canada!
Tommy Tallarico also composed The Terminator music on the Sega CD, which is one of the most amazing video game soundtracks ever. It's also really a great game too.
Thanks!
He also did the music for Global Gladiators on the Genesis.
Did you also know that Tommy Tallarico is the cousin of Steven Tyler? I learned that from Continue?'s episode on Wild 9 :O
His mother must be very proud
Another great episode, thanks guy's!
You're the Top Gear of Retro Video Games review ;-)
Just bought a few stuff from your store to sponsor your show.
I can't image the scrutiny a game would go through today if the differences were that profound. A great historical perspective.
This was a good concept for an episode, comparing versions of similar games.
i absolutely love your show! i get happy when i see you guys have uploaded a video haha
Thank you!
You guys are getting a ton of views now! Well deserved, great show.
Thanks!
This feels like a old game sack video, Which I love! Keep up the good work!!
Awesome episode! I love the unique concepts, and this was a great one. Another great example of the "Same Name, Different Game" category is Shadowrun for the Genesis and SNES. Vastly different games coming from the same source material.
The best part of waking up is Gamesack in your cup!
I like your policy on having no policies. When you show the same games you always have something different to say so I hope you keep these great shows coming.
Bataman Returns and Pirates of Dark Waters on SNES are just Final Fight.
you guys are great, so well put together, entertiaing and a great polish
Now that I'm done with that episode I can only do what I do when I finish every episode of Game Sack...wait for the next one! By far my favorite show around you guys knock it out of the par every time.
Man... I count the days between these episodes!
that last bit.... haha! another sunday made better with Game Sack!
this time it almost hurted :D
Great video as always. I recently found your channel and have been having a blast going through your old videos. Thanks a lot!
Awesome! and Thanks!!
This was a fantastic episode. It's really interesting to me especially because you really don't see games being dramatically different between systems except when you go between handhelds and consoles or exclusive DLC. What's funny is now you you have people looking for differences in the tiniest details like 1080p native vs 1080p upscaled instead since all else is equal.
You guys always do your segments separately so it was interesting to see you guys mix your parts together a bit. :)
Great episode again guys!
Other names with different games: Sparkster, Jurassic Park, Power Rangers, WWF Super Wrestlemania, and Taz-Mania. I'm sure there's others I'm not thinking of.
You guys should make more of these! I find it to be helpful to see the differences between the versions!
I love this because it helps me remember games I've liked or wanted to play as a kid and never got around to it. Have bought several games on these shows after watching them on here.
Sweet!
The ending is amazing. I couldn't help but feel it might be a reference to ***** destroying Tomcat Alley's case?
I haven't seen Rerez destroying a Tomcat Alley case. I was mimicking the people out there who don't realize that the packaging of a game is just as important to collectors as the game itself.
great concept for an episode!
I enjoy your channel more than most television shows
I just want to say that I think your intro music is the best intro music in the history of youtube. It makes me want to play my NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, PSX, and Dreamcast all at the same time.
I want an extended edition and I'm not even kidding.
Another awesome episode!
Games that come to mind for me are Strider, Beavis and Butt-head, and all those Capcom fighters that are so much better on the Saturn than the Playstation i.e. X-men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter.
Batman Returns in Sega CD FTW!!
Everything on Sega CD FTW!!
Cheers for the Sen No Kiseki music. I was whistling along with that particular track the whole time while playing the game.
Lol, nice ending Dave. Really wasn't expecting that.
The proper way of opening boxes. Thanks Dave.
Yeah who needs a game box anyways!
David White That was the definition of a cringe moment.
Batman Returns on SNEs is etherically awesome
fighting Catwoman brings my piss to a boil though
Etherically?
bummaggots yes. Its so good it transcends normal time and space
I Googled etherically and I'm still not completely sure what it means lol. I got the result etheric which is a colorless, highly volatile, flammable liquid. Or etheric body which is some kind of religious thing.
I think you mean ethereally
Thanks for another show, I always look forward to gamesack.
Great episode again guys. Thanks for making me spit out my coffee as I watched you remove tetris from the box :-) made my morning!
My jaw DROPPED when Dave opened that Tetris box. I'm sure it had top be a fake.
Regarding Pirates of Dark Water. The TV show was actually quite excellent for its time, and we'll worth watching. The animation and voice acting were top notch for a Saturday morning TV show. The games do it no justice. Unfortunately, it was never finished, which is a shame. I think that the original creators intended to finish the series with comics though.
really enjoyed this episode! i think we need a kickstarter to preserve your minds after your deaths as it would be a loss to humanity when all that knowledge is lost!
seriously the shirts you guys wear are awesome this is one of the best channels on youtube
Finally you guys talking about Sunset Riders.
Love this game!
Holy crap... last night I was playing the SNES Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters, thinking about how it was different from the Genesis edition. That's when I thought "you know, this would make for a good topic on Game Sack: games that would seem like ports from console to console, but would be developed and play differently." Way to read my mind :-p
Also, as someone who collects boxed games... that Tetris box... I think my heart stopped O.o
Hmmm you can foresee things huh? Do you have any random numbers popping in your head for powerball?
08 16 85 02 23 84 You can't miss!
I think Joe and Dave review their games in a time-frozen room where it's always 12:16. (notice the clock in the upper right?)
Look closer!
That Animaniacs game on SNES...oh man.
I remember loving the show as a kid, renting the game was a no-brainer for me back then, little did I know I would be embarking on such a painful expedition.
I've missed you guys. Around the time you uploaded your last video I finished watching the last episode of Game Sack on the list. Well, technically the very _first_ one, but the last one I needed to watch to complete the entire series. I haven't watched any of your videos since then, making it *2 MEGA WEEKS* without Game Sack!!! Naturally this hasn't been easy for me so I was very relieved to find a notification in my inbox telling me that you uploaded a new episode! It was a really good one too, I might add :)
Thanks!
i love the genesis version of aladdin, still play my copy today… there are some really cool cameos like you mention! another one I have noticed is Sebastian the crab from little mermaid locked in chains of the background of the dungeon level!
Cool. I never noticed Sebastian but I will look again next time I play.
What's up Dez... from 8 years ago!
@@chid255 😎👍😄
A! Aaaaaaaaaaaa! Tetriss nooooooo! WTF man that kind of abuse is cruelty.
Hey Dave & Joe, thanks so much for this episode. It just goes to show just how deep your sentiments are as gamers. I would love to see more on this series. Aladdin brought so much nostalgia to me whatching you guys cover it. Dont ever stop making Game Sack! Congrats on your tetris from Reggie Joe!!
My heart literally sank when he ripped that box.
Not sure if you guys are into them, but maybe Strategy or Real Time Strategy games would be an awesome topic! Great video as always!
I like the idea of RTS games but when it comes to playing them I suck. I would make a horrible battlefield commander.
Dave you made me cringe and practically jump in my seat when you tore open that Tetris box lol..couldn't imagine where you were going with that segment until that horrible moment!
Pretty sure that is the funniest ending of a GameSack I've seen yet.
Thanks for all your work guys- it's very much appreciated. I actually look more forward to your guys' show than anything else out there (including Game of Thrones!)
A noble compliment indeed. Thanks!
I haven't watched the video yet, but I can already tell you I love the topic of this episode.
I love AVGN's review of batman sega cd, 'boring as shit, next game'.
I can understand not having another batman game in this episode, but I suggest the adventures of batman and robin, You can also mention the sega CD version again, but the SNES and genesis versions are worth mentioning. Oh well, maybe when you guys decide to do another licensed game episode.
The ending just killed me :D
Great job guys!
First game that popped into my head when I saw the title was Shadowrun for the Genesis and SNES.
batman returns for the snes is one of the best movie to games ever made thr music is INCREDIBLE the game was only 1 byte
Aw, sweet! You have a Sega CDX! I have one of those, they're pretty good for not dealing with extra cables and crap.
Yep. SEGA is good at making people use lots of cables.
David White nice
Lots of information about what sets the games apart. I like it!
Batman Returns on SNES is an absolute classic. Those sprites are just gorgeous.
Sweet episode guys. If you ever do another on the same topic please consider these games...
1. Alien 3 SNES/Genesis versions
2. Powerslave (Exhumed) Sega Saturn/PS1
3. Rainbow Island on the NES (The USA version against PAL version)
4. Ghostbuster 2 on the NES (The USA version against PAL version)
Thanks
Very interesting show guys. Still waiting for the soundtrack based ones.
I do like the unique concepts you guys create. Always a plus 1. c:
Note to self, if I send out games to you all, must send them to Joe.
Hi Amber. I think we are worried about doing a soundtrack episode because of copyrights. And what's wrong with how I treat my games. They're all mint!
You're right. I completely forget about that. I guess you could just use those games that don't have licensed stuff but even those that are non license are getting flagged from what I hear.
The ending has to be the best one yet.
thanks for another cool video on sunday. i love it wen i wake up and my day begins with retrostuff from the game sack guys. :) thank you :)
Excellent episode as usual! The Genesis version of Aladdin is a bit more difficult than the SNES version. The X men games vary from the SNES to the Genesis. Lol the ending was great. Making fun of the "collectors" who only put the game on the shelf just to say they have it. :^)
*Mortal Porcupine Likes This*
I wonder how many people think you are a girl based on your avatar :)
Every time I comment on a Game Sack episode either Joe or Dave +1's my comment...so here we go!
-1 today for you buddy! Say something interesting and nice and I will give you your 1 back....lolol
David White For my interesting Comment: Did you know one of the reasons there are thin strips of metal in 20$ bills is because if enough are stacked up in a suitcase it will be enough to set off a metal detector.
For my nice comment: The SNES is right next there to your show as some of the most enjoyable things out there
ClassicGamerReviews
Alright alright that was good enough. +1 for you now you are even.
idk if you were just doing 2 games per name but master system aladdin is also awesome, great video as always guys :)
Enjoyed that one sirs, but I cant say I prefer it, as I simply just love all of your content. Keep it up! Thanks for the hard work!
When I got my Genesis (with Sonic 2), it included a mail away thing for a free game. I picked Aladdin. I never beat the thing. Maybe I should try again as an adult.
Why no comparision between Shadowrun on SNES and Genesis?
next time. It almost made this episode.
David White Oh, great!
Thanks!
CarozQH oops i just said the same thing... i shoulda checked the comments first. oh well. i cant wait to see shadowrun on game sack !
Those two games don't really co0unt because they didnt come out at the same time. In fact, they are years appart.
Great episode again guys. I actually had Aladdin on the Genesis version of it, i actually used to play it a lot and loved it. Only issue i had with the game was at the time, it was very hard, or at least i remember it been very hard, i was very young at the time however. Figuring out where to go was a major pain in the ass.
Nice end segment, that's how I open my old games too...
Am I the only one that thought the music from Pirates of Dark Water (the 'beat 'em up' version) was actually good? They trashed it in this video, but having not played the game before, I was really digging what was sampled here.
+Brian Douglas Yeah, I don't put much stock in their music taste. The SNES Pirates of Dark Water music seemed metal influenced. The music from the Pirates of Dark Water Genesis creepy stage was also completely appropriate.
Hey Game Sack, what about a same game different name episode?
Another awesome episode. The last time I saw games compared like this was in the old days of multi platform gaming mags - and then you would only get to see the screenshots and just have to trust what the magazine was telling you. Keep it up, gents!
Thank you for doing this. A lot of people still believe Aladdin on the SNES is the same as the Genesis version.
Dave Perry (of Earthworm Jim/Gaikai) coded this game in 3 months. They would have R.E.M's "Shiny Happy People" on loop which led to the name of Shiny Entertainment.
I don't mind REM but listening to that song everlasting would drive me insane.
I think you guys should compare Jurassic Park on the SEGA Genesis and SNES.
Also, Jurassic Park :Rampage Edition would be sweet as well.
I almost forgot they made the SEGA CD version and Lost World for the Genesis.
They've already compared the Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park Rampage Edition games in episode 92 Superior Follow-Ups.
WHAAA!?
I actually want to see the SNES comparison with the SEGA Genesis version.
Cougar Twelve there is a smaller channel I enjoy called Console Wars that do just comparisons between Genesis and SNES. They did Jurassic Park. Check it out if you like the low budget feels.
Just commented on this before seeing yours. If you include the NES, Gameboy and Game Gear versions then Jurassic Park has 6 different games using the same title. Rampage Edition is probably considered a separate title or maybe an early version of today's Expansion releases. Telltale also released an episodic style title a couple of years ago, but to be fair it is titled Jurassic Park: The Game, not simply Jurassic Park.
Really loved the endskit you did on this one!
I had the Amiga version of Aladdin. Going by this vid, it more closely resembled the SNES version. Loved that game back in the day. Great vid.
Make a DVD
Great video as always, and i hope you do more on the same theme.
Am I the only one that prefer the SNES version of Aladdin over the Mega drive one?
I've always been a Sega fan(boy) But I just have more fun with the SNES one. The smooth controls and more of an emphasis on platforming than figting has always appeald to me more..
"Breaks their necks or something gruesome"
Never thought of this. More brutal than splatterhouse :)
I think it is verry interesting to see the differences between the games, like allways, a great episode !
Please do an episode on the Vectrex!
Please let us borrow a vectrex and games and we will do one.
Please tell me that was not the original box.
It be cool if it was, but I doubt it.
I stomach dropped when I saw him rip that box open like that...
You guys are in my top 3 youtube channels, know about it.
Hey, just stumbled onto this channel the other day. Love your stuff just because I am discovering new games that I've never knew of or even played. You're doing a great job of digging up some more obscure stuff (good or bad) that I may have missed growing up. Keep up the good work!
More for your collections! X)
