Best comparison video of the two!! Thank you. I saw a claim that Showit''s SEO is better than Squarespace's and I couldn't find why there would be a difference, other than the Yoast plugin.
If you're designing a website for a small business owner, and both platforms will create a beautiful website, from the client standpoint, is there a reason showit would provide a better experience for the client compared to Squarespace? Seems like squarespace is better b/c it's less expensive, maybe even easier to update the website if they ever want to do that.
It really depends. I find I can do so much more without code in Showit and adding code to a Squarespace website makes it difficult for clients to edit. Also Showit takes regular backups which is great if the client messes anything up and we need to revert back.
Both are more expensive options but still amazing features. Bluehost seems to be a much cheaper option although you don’t really have a lot of creative freedom but Bluehost now offers drag and drop feature through WordPress have you seen that and it’s much cheaper.
Wordpress can technically be less expensive, but you get what you pay for in my opinion. Showit takes backups for you and provides round the clock support from professionals who really understand the platform. For Wordpress sites I've managed in the past, I paid upwards of $120 per month for the quality of support and services I required for the project not including all the plugins I needed for additional functionality. Also with Bluehost's builder (like many other basic builders) you are missing out on a ton of SEO features. Hope that helps! There's pros and cons to every builder, so a lot of it depends on what your project requires.
Help! I've been stuck between wanting to migrate my WordPress site over to Squarespace for years now until a friend just told me to keep my WP site to retain all my SEO. Is it really worth it? I mean, I can't get over all the features that SS has, calendar, G Suite, products, membership site. What should I do? Am I overthinking this?
It's much more about how you transfer your site and the content on your new site than the platform itself. SS has a lot of great features but it depends how you want to use them. I find they all work well for small businesses but as you scale, you may want more advanced options for email, memberships, etc. Hope that helps!
Oooh! I have a video on Fluid Engine here: ruclips.net/video/rrTDmpViY7Q/видео.html I will have to make another one soon with my thoughts after designing several websites with the new editor.
this was very helpful! I think I'm leaning more towards Squarespace? I'm looking to put together a portfolio website for surface pattern design and my pet portraits.. But also want links to my Society 6 and Spoonflower shops. What would you recommend? (p.s. i'm a technology idiot by the way haha!)
Squarespace is great if you aren't super comfortable with technology. You really can't go wrong either way. Just keep in mind, if you're looking for a super custom design you may want to buy a premium template so you don't have to worry about any custom code. Showit is a bit more flexible when it comes to designing without code, but finding a good Squarespace template will eliminate that.
Is your website on showit and you use thrive cart and podia as integrations? I’m working on my site in Showit and will want to add digital products and eventually have a membership. I really love the creative aspect of Showit but want to make sure there’s ways to make sure I can do all I want.
Yes, exactly. Although now I'm using Circle more and more instead of Podia since they have added a feature to sell and host courses too. Here's a link to try it out: localcreative.co/trycircle (my affiliate link). I still use Thrivecart though as I love their checkout experience.
I already have an Sqaure space website for my photogaphy, I am planning to start blogging ( no, specifically about photography), should just add a blog post to my current SquareSpace, or should I open another one specifically for blogging.
It totally depends if the two websites are related at all and if there is audience cross over. If the audiences are completely different, I would start a new website for your new blog. Hope that helps!
@@LocalCreative I'm actually working with a small business that has a squarespace account, but I was also very curious about showit for personal and possibly professional endeavors of my own as I absolutely love designing websites. Because of this, I found your video to be so informative on multiple levels. I think I'm going to try out showit for some things because of the freedom it seems to provide. 😊
Very true! Although I never get my domains through Squarespace so I guess I didn't think about it. Even though it's free, it's now only free for the first year and after that it's quite a bit more expensive than average to re-new your domain each year so it ends up being more if you plan keep your domain for a long time. I really love Google domains for the simplicity of it all.
I'm a brand designer and honestly hate code🤣 its not my thing it breaks my brain. I've used squares pace for a year but felt like it just doesn't look the way I want. After touching showing I love the fact that I have to customized everything separately. Just the way I want with minimal effort. Thanks for the video! Just a suggestion, I think your video is very helpful and if you could put the goods and bads on screen, and show a few steps on screen when you are describing the steps it would be even better
Ugh, I just need help! Can I schedule a meeting with you lol!!!!?? Everyone has different opinions. I’m starting out and my main worry is it being beginner blogger friendly. Any tips??

Thank you! That means a lot. They are both great platforms and can be have great search rankings if optimized the right way :)

Great information 👏
How does website templates work? Do you send me an already made website where I just edit it or?
Both! It depends. I offer full customizations or DIY website templates. Working on some new ones for Squarespace now.

Finally a useful video
So for me i need a new e-shop and i don't know many things how to build sites is good square space?
Squarespace is great! But if you plan to have a larger shop, I would definitely consider Shopify :)
@@LocalCreative how many items i can have on Squarespace
Is there anyway to extend my trial even though I already started it before I clicked your link?
Of Squarespace or Showit?

I know I'm late to the party here.
But one other thing to consider is the with showit they don't include a domain registrations and squarespace does.
