Hard to watch highlights of this game. That San Antonio teams was really good and it's a shame they didn't make it to the finals. Hats off to Houston, though. They were damn good and deserved to repeat.

The Spurs (Before Tim Duncan) were really good, but they were never a real threat to come out of the West at any point before drafting Duncan.

@@ThatDoesntWorkForMeBrother. It took Clyde drexler portland heroics in the early 90s... Barkley suns heroics in their finals year...Hakeem heroics here...and homer calls/heroics in Salt Lake. Definitely were close and a consistent contender just couldn't push through until '99

Robinson didn't care as much about winning as Rodman did.

    • @SpinSatx

@damosuzuki4125 if that's true rodman wouldn't have messed up so much. You didn't see Robinson not respecting the team rules and thus being suspended... and that is exactly what caused the chemistry to be off.

Dennis just doesn’t look right in a Spurs uniform. He was playing some great basketball in those years but you can see the Spurs were clearly overmatched against Houston. Rodman was blessed to have great coaches in his life like Chuck Daily and Phil Jackson.

Rodman was sabotaging the spurs. Rodman didn't do crap that series after the first couple of games from what I remember, he just quit and stood around moving just enough to not get called for illegal zone defense, he also refused to buy into the coach's defensive scheme. Rodman is the reason the spurs actively looked for high character guys.

We have all sinned and fallen short of Gods glory sin is terrible because of sin we are separated from God but gladly here is the good news Jesus Christ came and walked this earth for everyone taught us the perfect way to live and how we should live and he died for our sins because we need a sacrifice to pay the price for our sins since our sins deserve hell if we live in sin but also more good news Jesus rose from the dead three days later we have to leave the sin behind and put it away and live new with Jesus this world is like a vapor it passes away but your eternity is forever and it is up to you what you want to do with it……

The loss wasn't down to Dennis. Watch at 6:42 for example. Defensive board - dribble out- great pass to Sean Elliott who can't make a layup.

He average 1.6 turnovers per game over his entire career. His hands were fine. He could palm the ball like Jordan or Shaq. He wasn't a great dribbler but his ball handling skills were good.

@@damosuzuki4125 Thank you Damo for the nice compliment. I just found out that Damo Suzuki passed away in Feb 2024 (last month). That is sad news.
On a brighter note, I listened to This Nation's Saving Grace by The Fall yesterday. I hadn't listened to it for a while. What a great album.
      Best wishes to you.
