The audience is close, and the entertainers do so well to look at them.

The actor playing the emcee would make a good Harry Houdini in Ragtime, Clopin in Hunchback of notre dame, and also Billy Flynn in Chicago! Kudos to him for putting his own twist on the emcee because I saw this as a clown-esque child like character!

I absolutely love what the future theatre interpretations of the fabulous musical are being presented. I love the theatre and its way of presenting social, moral and political pictures of the world.

Love it brother! Gonna be doing emcee so im listening to all the versions people have done. I love the theater in the round its so fun to get to talk to and look at people when you deliver certain lines. We're doing it in a dinner theater space with tables and drinks so im thinking of taking tickets and shmoozing with people before the show to warm them up and break that 4th wall right away.
My favorite thing to see in a musical number is a people train. Im gonna ask if we can do one in a song its so fun!
    Great job!

We had our first show yesterday and it was really powerful. I've been crying at the very end of the show I didn't realize this show was so heavy at the end. A lot of people came up to me and thanked me for taking them on this journey.
Shit the emcee has so much to do in this show!

Your performance is really good. Not sure I quite understand the concept of this particular staging of the song. Is the Emcee supposed to be in an asylum of some kind, or otherwise restrained against their will at the beginning? Is that why their arms are closed around them? Curious to learn more about the concept.

Thanks so much for watching ❤️ the director definitely wanted it to be open to interpretation but I kind of saw the straight jacket as a physical representation of being helpless and constrained by poverty. When the emcee takes it off and is free from that constraint, the Kit Kat dancers start reaching and crawling all over him in that crazed way, and I got to sprinkle the gold confetti on them almost like giving drugs to an addict. I think the overall goal was show desperation and need in that elevated almost clowny way which references the Weimar Cabaret culture of the 20s-40s in Berlin which inspired the show. That is why to me this show is such a fascinating blast, because it is able to blend comedy/satire with such serious themes as the holocaust, while honoring an amazing culture which was eventually stamped out by the Nazis. I read that the real life cabaret performer who the Emcee was inspired by was Jewish, and actually died in a concentration camp. There are stories of him performing for other Jews in the camps. All of this to tie in with a huge moral the show presents, “life is a cabaret” where you can turn even life’s darkest moments into something beautiful, something tragically funny, something glamorous! Thanks for writing in

@@matthewskrovan3378 Loved your response. I think the bigger population doesn't understand the concept which makes most converstaion and social, politcal and moral representation almost impossible. But, for people like use we must keep the inteneded them going.

Damn. Wish I could sing as well as this emcee. Very impressive take with the character in a straight jacket. Nazis trying to recondition him I guess?
