    In EU, the Avata 2 is C1 class marked, so no problems (if anybody has problems to do A1/A3 test, ne may be better stick to fishing or other hobby). Biggest issue worh any FPV is to keep VLOS, so, in order to fly in OPEN Cat, an Observer shoul be nearby, and no differences if it would be sub-250g.

    • @Teflonfilmare
      @Teflonfilmare 5 месяцев назад

      That's correct, however throughout the EU these EASA regulations and rules isn't easily enforceable, unless u're operating in close proximity to airports, NFZ TFR zones, security sensitive objects or military compounds. Noone is gonna approach you with fine graded scales, handheld RID scanners asking for proof of registration, paperwork and flight logs. Fly in peace and confidence and use good judgment at large. Voilà ❤️

      Yeh that's true

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeh that's always been my thought but in the back of my mind I'm more thinking if there was police nearby and they wanted to check in on what I was flying and they were not too sure about the regulations which most of them are not, then they would not worry too much about a sub 250 whoop that looks like a toy compared to a DJI professional looking drone like the avata or avata 2

    I got the A2, and I'm enjoying it. Sub 250g would be a really nice feature, but RID isn't that big of a deal in the US. I think you glossed over the biggest advantage of the A2, which is battery life. Having 20 minutes to explore shots and do multiple takes and angles is amazing. Having only a 6 minute flight time feels like you would need to land as soon as you just got going. 20 minutes in the air feels like freedom to explore what you want and become fully immersed. The A2 may not be the most acrobatic, or the lightest, or even the best cinewoop, but it definitely checks a lot of boxes. I'm happy with my choice, but I am looking forward to the standalone O4 unit! :)

      Yeh I am liking the look of the avata 2 but I was just personally hoping for a Mavic mini mixed with avata 1 so basically a sub 250 avata with good battery life and image quality but maybe that's something for the future who knows

    (Disclaimer: Speaking only for EUrope, so excluding huge chunks of the world.)
    TBH not that much paperwork required in the EU especially if you have a C0/C1 drone. You need an insurance which covers drone damage, you need an e-id for your drone (no matter if =250g since lets be honest all have cameras on them) and you need a pilots license (for >=250g) which requires a rather short online test (which cost some few Euros, if I remember correctly 20 or 25) where you proof you understand the regulations. That's it, you are good to go.
    What hurts is the speed/power limitation (19m/s max) but they effect all C0/C1 drones, also certified

      Yeh I was mainly talking about worldwide but yeh you're spot on about European regulations are not as intense yet. Thanks for the comment

    Even if this one is made out of a lot of carbon fiber would you say that the original avata is more durable?

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  5 месяцев назад

      Yeh original avata is Def more durable but heavier than 250g because of it.

  • @garychap8384
    @garychap8384 4 месяца назад +1

    They screwed themselves out of a lot of sales by not making the prop guards removable ... I'm pretty sure that could have allowed for a sub-250 AND a 250-plus configuration.
    Just print 2 weights on each battery type ... a lower weight under an image of an unguarded drone... and the higher weight under a guarded drone.
    Would have done wonders for EU/UK sales, for sure.
    Maybe they'll eventually bring out an EU-friendly Avata 3.

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  4 месяца назад

      Yeh that would have been a cool feature as well, removable prop guards so we can have 1 multi purpose drone that can do everything. Definitely one for the future I think

  • @garethjones1

    I would do a A2 c of c if you haven't already and the permission you get a pretty good. Still gonna have to have an observer what ever the case. I also have a GVC, both were pretty easy to complete.

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeh exactly I've benefited a lot from having the A2cofC

    • @cipri198zero
      @cipri198zero 4 месяца назад

      A2 cofc for 80£ and still useless because you need a qualified spotter. As for me and many others , I don’t see any member of my familly, or friends which are simply not interested in this hobby to come with me and get bored to death of watching me fly the damn thing. So I fly how , where and when I can my Avata 2, alone, with a lot of anxiety.Complete ignorance from CAA , disregarding our skills and the smart features of these modern drones. Such a shame, there is NOTHING pretty good in the “extra” permissions you got unless you have a friend with same hobby. Even with the extra permission I don’t fly over/near any person, not because I’m allowed or not, but because you never know when you meet a Karen to ruin your day, and there are plenty out there. VLOS legislation is killing it. My suggestion would be a proper drone pilot licence, even if it means the tests will be difficult to get. At least that will trully lift the VLOS restrictions.

  • @mssippijim

    I had one of these and returned it. I don't like that you have no option to get it with a traditional controller. The motion controller is ok, but why try and force everyone into using it or spending another $200 on a controller when you have already forked out $1000 - $1200 on the drone.

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  5 месяцев назад +1

      This is something that really annoys me too! That motion controller stick is so annoying and something that people tolerate I feel rather than really enjoy using. Just give 2 options one combo with motion controller and one with normal controller! So frustrating dji

  • @cipri198zero
    @cipri198zero 4 месяца назад +1

    Huge problem with FPV drone because of the VLOS laws and needing a qualified spotter. What about people who have nobody? Also on normal cinematic drones, flying in vlos makes the telemetry irrelevant. Using your screen to fly its illegal , you look at the screen to check the battery , wind etc , you look back at the drone, drone its gone😂 specially a Dji Mini. It just shows how much CAA and FAA couldn’t care less about our hobby, even considering the technology put inside the modern drones, they completely ignore it!

    • @pavguliani
      @pavguliani  4 месяца назад

      Yeh fpv really needs to be put into its own category with different rules because it's completely different flying to Mavic drones. Even having a spotter for fpv is pointless because we often fly in places where it's just not possible to see the drone. Definitely needs an update for fpv

      I plan to get one, but I could take that same money and go in on a 5" freestyle kit you'll get something way faster and more agile. That's a fact. But personally I really want to know what I'm doing before I do a 5". The Avata 2 is excellent for working up to the next level
