7:55 I do have a question. On the illustration part where excitatory pathway of opioids are displayed, isn't Cl- influx trigger hyperpolarization thereby decreasing action potential and no positive response? I'm kind of confused, can you further clarify this for me? Thank you so much, I love your videos btw.

These comments are terrifying to hear, that you all are listening to this to pass a test which means you have not learned what you need to learn and understand to be effective in your fields. Which is why the world is where it is today. I like hearing what this man has to say and I'm glad he is informing the world with needed information. There is missing information that the people in here are that are thanking him for need to know, and I'm terrified that you could possibly end up treating me or my children not the guy speaking the ones using this information to pass a test of course.

*WOW* ... you sir have got to be (so far & that i can recall) the only person who has ever got this FULLY CORRECT. I like how you noted that the effect opioids have on breathing really boils down to the sensor that detects how much co2 is present (& in doing so, essentially blocks-to an extent- the alert that warns a person when their co2 levels get too high..& so they would feel that urge to BREATHEEE, to avoid death)...one would be surprised just how few people actual are aware of this, they think opioids just make your lungs not want to move or something.
Also like how you mentioned the action Methadone has as an SNRI (tho i wouldve also liked to see you do the same for Bupe for it also has an interesting profile of agonism/antagonism). One last thing i was quite pleasantly surprised to hear you mention was the reason as to why Naloxone acts on the receptor as it does.. this is due to its HIGHER AFFINITY in contrast to other opioids!...again, this is unknown to most & it boggles their mind when you try explaining that to them especially when theyre not actually even aware that Naloxone (& naltrexone) are ALSO themselves OPIOIDS. Their mind is usually blown at that point & you then realize they just simply don't have the full in depth understanding as you may have.
Idk, sometimes i feel like i'm the one going crazy in such a seemingly ignorant-uneducated world, but alas i am humbled once i remind myself just how truly ignorant we all are myself included. Lol, so its all good!
Thank you much for this, refreshing!!

I am a recovering addict. I was a super addict and I was abusing heroin and I pretty much destroyed parts of my body and nearly died of infections to my organs. I never overdosed yet I used huge amounts at times to kill myself. I was fed up with life but I guess I was too tolerant to get to levels needed. If anyone hurting or fighting this pls got to a methadone clinic for .5-1 gram of use a day ask for 70mm that will help a lot so you don't suffer and have a clear view. This helps me and I am not using every penny to get high. I pretty much lost my left leg. So pls don't lose ur life. It's never too late the clinics won't get mad if u relapse. Just do your best to get better.
