- My bad abt the shakiness, as you can tell I was outta breath from chasing down the truck. Glad I don't have to come out in the cold as early now I know the truck don't show up til after 10am. I had a feeling this truck was a heil, one of the ones that are made to not be able to slam cans. For sure catching this truck on all stops next monday.

Republic buy something other than heil, mission impossible. Finally caught some republic cant say so myself because allied left before I was even born lol. I'm anti heil fan when it comes to newer trucks but still wouldn't mind filming them regardless. Haven't filmed anything due to not having a bike for travel😬
I was also born shortly after the acquisition. Allied/BFI left behind some good trucks and republic has inevitably wiped them all out in favor of Heils. They have a few McNeilus Meridians floating around along with some of the last surviving Allied trucks but their nationwide fleet is still 90% Heil trucks.
@Treysen-gj1jq That's saddening to hear that majority of their trucks are heil. Being a McNeilus fan and a heil fan Heil has progressively gotten worse in terms of front load, I was born shorty before the AW/Republic merger. We had allied here and veolia wiped most of those trucks. McNeilus is the better option and republic always goes to heil unlike WM who is smart. It's unfortunate that any new front load republic gets it'll be a heil. they have few McNeilus atlantics and meridians running around.
@@Cos.1s It makes me wonder how tf Heil manages to fill all those orders for republic. But WM on the other hand seems to use different trucks in different parts of the U.S. For example, they use mostly Heils in Georgia while they use Amreps in California, and they use McNeiluses in Oklahoma where I live. The CNG epidemic struck my area sonetime around 2018 but before then they had a wide verity of different FLs including Wittkies. I like Wittkie FLs but they’re made all the way on the other side of the continent in Canada so they’re not so common here.
@Treysen-gj1jq I mean to be fair in the south, Majority of The WM fleets were entirely mcneilus after WMX ended up leaving. In 2017 they made a batch of pete 320 atlantics in Montgomery Alabama. About half and half of our fleet is McNeilus/Heil. While GFL here is entirely heil. Cheaper doesn't mean better in every case. Would much prefer a new McNeilus over a new heil. From a filmer standpoint it isnt as fun to watch. We have only 3 older style heils that aren't bad. 1 from WM & 2 From GFL. Republic up in Atlanta just buys whatever they can get their hands on. They got a MRU Meridian. Amreps main HQ is in California so that's why they're so common there and one of the heil plants is in alabama right near me. The closest mcneilus plant is all the way in florida. Our fleet was more or so popping until WM took over & when GFL took over
@@Cos.1s There is no GFL in my area. The only franchise haulers he have here are WM, Republic Services, and Cards Holdings. Our republic yard uses Heil Freedoms and a couple McNeilus Pacific series trucks which I haven’t seen in years so we can probably guess what happened to those. Our WM yard uses CNG Atlantics with either Mack or Peterbilt chassis. And Cards Holdings mostly survives on acquisition trucks so they just use whatever the acquired company had but when they do buy brand new it’s either McNeilus or New Way.
