Yup, the outside temp shows up on the screen, and the compass is in the center screen between the gauges. I know that due to those being the locations of them in my '12 Terrain.
This car is in the same weight, power, and price class as a Honda Accord. Accord has the advantage in: mpg, 0-60, passenger room, cargo space, rollover crash rating, fuel tank size. Verano has the advantage in: warranty length, frontal crash rating, turning radius.
CVTs help imporve gas milage without needing a manual shifter, and guess what for average driver who needs a car mainly to commute, this is more important than how it feels to drive with an automatic gear box that gives the pleasure of shifting.
It's based on the european/German Opel Astra(with added 'bells&whistles' for the US market). In Israel it's considered a rival to Ford Focus,VW Jetta...however,selling it to 2nd hand market isn't easy since domminated by Japanees,Korean
Bc of its reliability issues, the Verano will cost you more money to maintain in the long run and it willl have much lower resale value when it comes time to sell or trade the vehicle in. I remember my dad saying, he who buys cheap buys twice. This works great for shoes, bc when you buy cheap shoes you can afford to wear new shoes all time, alas the same does not apply to cars. Even a cheap car costs over 16,000 dollars out the door.
From a non-budget standpoint, I'd agree. However, I have a set amount of money to spend on a car. I do not want a cloth interior. That means I can't afford the Accord, since the Accord with leather exceeds my budget. Therefore, for my budget, the Verano is "better" since it can give me that.
Ron you are always in a different city! This time its the LBC by my old stomping grounds...if I would have know we could have had some tacos or something.......
If you cannot afford a leather accord now, buy a gently used one next year. It will have depreciated a bit and you will have had an extra year to save up the money.
What the hell is this guy talking about. Lexus only uses the CVT for there hybrids like the CT200h. Last time I checked the Verano was not a hybrid. And quite honestly a Buick isn't in the league of Lexus or Infiniti for that matter. Stop trying to promote a disguised Chevy.
Being fair and objective here, a car can either be small and zippy, sporty, futuristic, artful, friendly for the environment, retro, or stately. The Buick has clearly chosen stately, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong as long as they pick one of the above and stick with it.
Once again you do not have all of the facts?! This vehicle is NOT a sub-compact, it is a compact! If you are going to be giving these video reviews please present the correct details of the car, SUV, etc.
I really wanted to like the Verano, but adding lipstick to a pig still makes it a pig. Consumer reports rated it below average in reliability.I want a car to be quiet bc of the smoothness of its drivetrain not bc it's up on a lift in a garage. There is no comparison in rear comfort; the Honda Accord is simply more car for the money. Maybe to compete in the small car market GM should go back to selling rebadged Toyotas Isuzus & Suzukis rather than trying to resurrect the Cadillac Cimarron.
This didn’t age well in terms of reliability it was top three in the compact for this gem and 2nd hand one of the best bang for bucks on the market Welcome to 2022
They are serious garage...wait till 65000 miles ...broken driverside shock , time chain , chain guids..cam position jumped time . That fancy radio info center glitches very badly when it rains...terrible cheap car please do not waist your money as I did
Isaac Nichols damn that sucks I was thinking of getting my mom this car, I was looking at a 2012 thanks to your comment I'm going to see what other options I have.
ATXMEX Vato I am buying a 2012 Lacrosse next week I want one but just because you had problems don't mean I will have that same problem. The one I am buying is a one owner with 52 thousand miles on it and it is going for 12 thousand I can't beat that price. But I am getting it anyway I want this bad boy that's a chance I am willing to take.
A Cruze is NOT European, it's a Daewoo, stop lying to people and making them think this is European, it's a freaking Daewoo who gave us America's worst car, the Aveo.
Too biased in this review, he mentioned no negative points of the car whatsoever....the car can't be that perfect....his friend must pay him to review this car lol
Does EVERY car Buick builds have to be an ugly, rental-grade, chrome-crazy jellybean like this. All the Buicks look the same now(read: ugly). GM fails.....again.
Love my verano

You forgot the Verano has the advantage in quietness. That's the main selling point for me.

wanted to hear a lot more about the ride, handling, driving and overall feel

Would LOVE to see a coupe version of this car.
Only time my verano has spent on the hoist is for an oil change. Has 25k plus on it. Still quiet!!
Great Car, great review, get the Turbo!
Does the Verano have an outside temperature gauge and compass?

Ron, in which cars other than hybrids, Lexus and Infiniti are using CVT's?
Haha he never replied
This is not a SUBcompact, it is a compact.
Thanks
I did not mean to imply that YOU were lying, rather the GM reps who go out of their way not to associate either Cruze or Sonic with Daewoo.
Ron you are always in a different city! This time its the LBC by my old stomping grounds...if I would have know we could have had some tacos or something.......
I prefer the Holden Cruze
Kept saying subcompact, um no! its compact, same basic architecture as the Cruze. ugh i hate when car review cars are not informed -_-

"A Cruze is NOT European, it's a Daewoo"
Actually it is developed together with Daewoo and Opel, GM's european subsidiary.
Get it right--this is a compact car, not subcompact.
it's german!!! it's a Opel Insignia.

Daewoo only did the interior and exterior and and anything else is from Opel.
