    Hey There Lovely conversion. I looked around and found 1 other tut but it involved cutting into the original wiring and this was a perfect solution. easy fitment of the socket and clean interface with the speaker. I will never understand why people mod radios or any electronics and just hack and butcher wires and switches into place. if it made it look better externally or if it made the radio more functional i can understand that. personally your method for this is 100 percent the cleanest and best way.

    could never work out why they didnt use sockets for the exsp/pa/cw theres plenty of room for it .done a few radios in the same way lot easyer than trying to find the proper plug to fit

    Is that the later version of the now called Mk1? I can see it has the auto squelch , didn't that come with the later version of the Mk 1?.

      Its the original version with the MRF 477 Transistor, The later version had the MRF455 as the MRF477 became obsolete, Some refer to the MRF455 version as the high power version , this is incorrect as the radio doesnt do any more power .
