Why can’t you people give him credit for anything. He did his tour of duty with no special favors. He served his time along with the other men serving their duty. He was the everyday GI at that time.

He was, but the government had him drafted to attempt to squash his impact. The FBI kept tabs on him as his popularity grew. He was drafted with cause.

I love the king but he made ranks so fast you can't say he got no special favors.

In one of his shows filmed for TTWII Elvis he says I got drafted and shafted so there’s an element of truth to this

Elvis was forced to join the Army. He served his country with no special treatments. He was tank driver. When he came out he was bigger than ever. RIP ELVIS AARON PRESLEY. Forever he lives through his fans 🙏🏽❤🙏🏽🇺🇲🇺🇲

Crazy to think that he would be unrecognizable & dead in less than 20 years from when this was recorded.

When you think about it he wasn't around very long at all compared to the majority of celebrities. I guess it just seemed like he was a fixture because he was the man when I was a kid. And then boom. He was gone. People were really hurt by his death. I've never seen that type of reaction since

He was never unrecognisable, I mean if you saw him in late 50s and 60s, he was only a little heavier with longer hair

He was drafted because he had signed up for it years earlier he wanted to do his duty nothing to do with his image just coincidental.
