that was a cool spot, provided, those rocks are worn rounded edges by the surf, walking on them barefoot takes away stress some how. I think it sets off thousands of nerve endings and makes something happen but its like magic. I love sleeping next to the ocean, hearing the surf all night. great video.
Andy Wells hahaha I know it was all very dad's army along the coast there lol. But then again we are an island nation, we love a few coastal defences, it's the British way. Gotta love it. Thanks for watching mate.
YA, some lucky Bastard lives there, HA! Nice walk mate. I'm a WWii History buff. It's OK to say "The Germans," after all, has any other country had more aggression and frequency in causing major wars then them? I think not! We better keep a close eye on them for eternity. I really appreciate your details in showing your gear and commentary in history on these walks. Well done Big Tom. ....... Mike.
as normal Desolate , Lonely and eerie at night , lovely place , i caught my 1 st bass there weighed 5 pounds ,but now its all changed becuse i could cast the channel which was about 100 yards wide onto orford ness , now its open sea as the tides have stripped the spit away ,and orford ness lighthouse was pulled down do to coastal erosion ,
You always inspire me Tom. Going to bikepack it down to Shingle street soon. Assume you camped right of the white coast guard houses? Appreciate feedback.
Hi Jane thanks! You inspire my other half Dawn, I'm getting her watching your videos too. Yes way past all the houses, pretty much in front of the derelict empty martello tower but on the beach.
@@TOM_OUTDOORS thanks. Dawn is most welcome. Next is the bikepacking to Shingle Beach and then the Old Chalk way in May -weather dependent. I will let you both know when it’s ready
Only just found your adventures Tom on Suffolk Coast, great filming & narrating. Me & my son slept on the foreshore at Offordness, no tent or bivvy. Gotta get back to this coast, really unspoilt. Thanks for the encouragement !!
We were nearer Aldeburgh end with not a soul about, its an amazing desolate place with the masts in the background. Apparantley the area between low & high tide is 'no mans land'. but need to be aware and respectful as there could be ordnance about. cheers for now Tom, time to stop typing & get packing, hopefully a micro adventure this week, if the Hunka arrives !!
Great camp Tom. Some fantastic pictures as well. Those opinal knifes are great for the money, always take one shooting with me. Make sure you keep the blade dry and oiled as carbon blades are prone to rusting. As always Tom. I look forward to the next one Regards Kai
Cracking video mate enjoyed it, the last company a worked for was collcrete von essen a was a barge master up on the forth installing the new forth crossing, any ways it's a German company, a used to be on a crew boat going out to what ever barge the needed me on and if a was passing the nite shift going ashore a used to get "alas clah mein furher" basically means good morning my leader but with a Hitler salute hoyed in aswel haha a always found the Germans great bunch of lads only ones who seemed a bit iffy were the ones from the east side they all seemed very suspicious of everyone, all the best Tom, Liam
Hey Tom!! Awesome vid as always!!! What is the temperature there??? In Georgia its been 95 degrees to a 100 degrees during the day and at night the low is 76 degrees!! It's hot but what gets u is the humidity!!!!
TOM OUTDOORS My son and I tried to go camping last Saturday night and we lasted about 2 hours we were miserable!!! We tried to camp in the back yard, it was only walking steps to to the A/C!!! Nice and cool!! Lol

Which peg in Shingle
A V, X, or Y shaped peg seems to work for me mate. You can get specific sand and shingle stakes.
