I had great respect to Guruprasad after watching Mata and Eddelu Manjunatha. Though both were low budget movies it had some qualities to hold audience. Jaggesh sir casting and natural acting was plus there. Really he discussed new concepts through his first 2 films. Gradually expectations was more Director's special movie. Meanwhile he got diverted to other things like Screenplay writing, Hosting reality shows, participating in it etc. The expectation fire extinguished gradually and we were not aware about the movie status like when it came and when it went! After 4 months only I came to know film was released. He says it takes time to make good films but his film's quality was really worse. His movies were not for everybody. He always speaks his perspective. But Films made for business. His movies were not great as Upendra's starting days direction. I don't think he's serious about direction bcos he gets more for acting and other work. Simply drags for years but film doesn't feel like had years of hardwork. His films won't have good locations, good camera work, rich presentation etc.( It doesn't mean everything with money but about quality of presentation). Since Guruprasad's first 2 movies were hit it doesn't mean he's genius and whatever he does is right. Bigboss revealed his character. He pretends like genius but actually not. If genius also too much of careless.
