An English farmer sets out to restore the country's wetlands, with help from nature's most experienced engineers. Holland's Repair Cafes aim to reduce waste by encouraging people to fix items rather than throwing them away. Murals with the pollution-cleansing power of up to 8,000 trees could help clean up one of Manila's busiest highways.

The repair Cafe is one of the most inspiring things I have seen in my life.
I am a Canadian who tells everyone who will listen, you need more beavers. They keep the water on the land! Every desert place needs more beavers. They are quite wild here and we have thousands and thousands of lakes, ponds and streams thanks to the work of countless wild beavers.
Their secret is they put sticks and mud in the low spot, creating a dam and a lake from doing so!

Beavers are a wonderful animal.
It's remarkable what the beavers can do to transform a landscape into much more useful, vital wetland areas. So much suffering to animals in the past from the fur trade, thankfully many appreciate how wrong that is in our time.

I thought beavers were indigenous to North America.
There are two species of beaver, the north american and european beavers. Though very similar in appearance and behavior, they are genetically incompatible.
