next time don't weld the nut to the washer and leave the nut free spinning. This way you can throw on a wrench and raise or lower the rod. Might be hard to turn with a bunch of weight but there are ways around that too.
That's great ! It's stronger than some of the readymade one's that you can buy. The angle iron makes it stronger and more reliable.
