quick tip: if you wanna add effects to your two track don't turn the beat down in the mixer fader cause that's post insert. If you do additive eq on your beat and you turn the beat down on the mixer fader it's gonna clip. Instead, click the 2 track and go on the wrench toolbar. Where it says level adjustment on your two track, it'll have a volume knob. Turn that down. So now if you wanna do additive eq on the 2 track and turn down the beat, it won't clip. So now it's pre fader not post insert like the mixer track. That's the power of gain staging.
Crazy because I'm just finding out myself that this is the most efficient way 🙌🏼 I just been making my own mixing presets since I don't have wifi atm but Keep sharing your great work brotha‼️
First let me say god bless you and your family bro I know you going through a lot and you still do what you do I just want to say thank you for being a great person you have taught me a lot bro so thank you 🙏
Two important details that were left out of this video that I feel are crucial in order for anyone to fully understand recording and mixing are... 1.) What gain setting did you use on the preamp during recording? (Example: 50% on the preamp's gain knob). 2.) Where were the vocals peaking and/or sitting at on the dB scale before and after mixing? (Example: -20dB before and -6dB after mixing). These are probably the two most important details that you could ever share with us and I know a lot of people would be grateful if you started sharing these details in future videos. Please and thank you in advance.
Hey Richard! Thank you for bringing this up. 1. I always start at 50% right in the middle. If you're a very loud performer, then you should turn it down until it stays green. You should hit chorus/hooks and make sure the light is always green. 2. I like recording vocals at -20 DB , it gives me a lot of headroom, removes any possibility of distortion at high performances, and is easy to separate ground noise from vocal if needed.
The easiest way of finding the BPM and pitch of a track; recording altogether. Thanks for this, Jordan. I pray that you are strengthened and completely healed in Jesus name. Amen!
Bro this is the BEST FL tutorial ever damn Jordan and Joey! 🙏🙌🙏 I always thought too about putting beat in befofe setting tempo that it would stretch and warp the beat. This is fantastic to know 🔥🔥🔥
That upload to,cloud idea so damn BRILLIANT awesome thanks again im totally going to do this and it will, for, sure save computer space for all music files aha and in many other aspects all around 🙏🙌🙏
Any advice on why when trying to go to mixer presets folder, my folder is empty. Also tried looking everywhere for melodic sauce and couldnt find it either.. any advice why this os the case and how to get it on my PC/folder,
Can you go over leveling vocals? I don’t know how I should level them. I’m confused whether to put the vocals just under the clap or louder than the clap or just under the kick Im not sure.
Got a nt1a mic brand new with focusrite solo preamp.. when recording vocals the wave is SO THIN it's basically a thin line. However you can definitely hear the audio. Any help in this area?
I've got a question, I also want to record someone else on a Scarlett 2i2, how can I connect multiple headphones so we can both monitor at the same time? I think the other person has USB headphones
Hey so I see there is only 1 track for the mix and there can be as many recording tracks but if I wanted to do layers with the mixing how would I do that?
Right click on a track and set it to a different mixer track or same one if you want same mix. I would suggest checking out my FL vocal mixing videos that show that process
yes, eq to get rid of stuff you don't like, then comp , then add stuff you like... or sometimes you may want to get rid of all bad sounds you don't like with an eq, then bring up highs or mids with an eq, then compress. So it could go either way. Compressing is all about squeezing everything together, so you have to make a conscious decision because doing it to get best results

@@Baywood what about after applying effects? Where should a mixed vocal sit on the dB scale?

Can you make a video about mastering with stock plugins that would be goated 🐐 👑

Can you go over leveling vocals? I don’t know how I should level them. I’m confused whether to put the vocals just under the clap or louder than the clap or just under the kick Im not sure.
think of what sounds best to your ear for that given track. but normally your vocals will be louder than your clap
Send me the link pls, I wanna download the melodic sauce🎵🎙️🔥🔥

You gotta turn up the pre gain on your focus-rite
What’s the best resampling setting when exporting a song
I believe it is best to use the same sample rate you mixed in.
I've got a question, I also want to record someone else on a Scarlett 2i2, how can I connect multiple headphones so we can both monitor at the same time? I think the other person has USB headphones
Order a Aux input jack splitter and it will work for you. Amazon, Best buy, have them
😍😍😘😘

So what if i wanna export the whole song but not to cloud what settings should i use?
The same just uncheck cloud at the bottom

Should eq go before or after comp? Or eq comp then eq again?
yes, eq to get rid of stuff you don't like, then comp , then add stuff you like... or sometimes you may want to get rid of all bad sounds you don't like with an eq, then bring up highs or mids with an eq, then compress. What song is playing in the background??? It’s fire 🔥 & mmm this video definitely helps !
unreleased joey holli!
@@Baywood still unreleased?
Does it hurt your presets if I’m using 3 vocals or more and using one in the middle , panning the rest
No that’s great to do! Highly recommend to give more depth
How much to mix and master a song? Thanks
pricing changes - but you can check out my mixing and mastering service here - vocalsauce.com/mixing
How many compressions? 2 or 1? In a single vocal chain
that is up to you! stacking compressors is a good way to get your vocals to stand out if there is a lot of other sound happening
whats this song bro! shit fire!
Artist is Joey Holli, not sure if the song is out yet
FL studio video SAY LESS!!
U better when doing without presets :(
Check out my latest video I put out today 🔥 I do many videos without presets. That’s just a small category of my channel
