    Watch black tail studios video about a table that the cops thought had drugs in it. But, he shows a picture of how he built the packaging around the table. Just to give everyone an idea of what shipping large items might look like. Plus it's kind of a funny video.

  • @lauramarshall6376

    Just a note - if you have a scale without the hold button, put the item on the scale and then zero the scale. When you remove the item, you'll have the weight on the display.

      it depends on the product and where I am selling. Etsy gives you better ranking in search if you offer free shipping so I bake it into the cost of the product. On my website some items I offer free shipping if they order a certain amount.

You can leave them by your front door even and they will come up to collect them. If you have any questions about this service please let me know.

    Howdy Mr. 731..
    In conjunction with several of your recent videos..."Chasing Your Fears, Shipping, Website design..."
    Shipping: My shop/s are on my property, as such is my home address. Once I start production and selling items, I don't necessarily want the world knowing my home address. I understand getting a P.O. Box as a business address, but I'm missing something. If you have relatively large items to ship and for what ever reason it gets returned, how is that done?
    Website: A "Fear" I've had is learning what all the buttons/options do. It's a bit overwhelming. I tried to learn Excel....it's got like 10k icons :) and I ended up not learning it, I'll just use a pad and pencil.
    I just don't see how YOU find the time to build stuff and everything that goes with that AND do computer stuff. How do you manage your time with all that?

    • @731Woodworks
      @731Woodworks  2 года назад +1

      Time management is a HUGE challenge for me. Only recently was I able to hire an editor to help me with some of the video editing. Once the website is up and running there is minimal action you have to take on your part.
      Website building isn't very hard with today's modern website building tools. I can show that in the upcoming video. there are some steps but for the most part, it is fairly straight forward.
      Shipping, I'm not exactly sure on large items (like tables, etc.). I would just ask the PO when setting up the box. There may be a way to have an item forwarded to you via USPS or UPS etc. that doesn't show the customer your home address.

    Great video as always. I need advice on shipping large items like an entry table I build. Guessing the box will be 56 x 15 x 34. According to UPS it could cost nearly $400 to ship it to the Coasts. I'm in the midwest. I REALLY don't want to build things that need assembly by the customer. A lot more of my time to build something like that. It could in some cases be equal to the cost of shipping. As you said...Time is Money. So my question is are there other options besides UPS? According to USPS this box size is too big.
