9:03 she is singing christmas traditions and stories.
a bucket of fried chicken = in japan is tradition to feast with freid chicken on christmas (kfc makes a fortune there during the season)
a costume for your dad = the tradition of dads dressing up as santa for the childrens
a demon who will stuff you in a sack if you've been bad = krampus
a reindeer gets promoted = rudolph the red nose reindeer
an old man confronts his fear of karma and mortality this special time of year = scrouge from christmas carol
Best part of the Japan thing was it was an off the cuff statement by a Japanese marketing guy (might have been within KFC, or just working with them) that hed heard fried chicken was a staple of American Christmas tradition. Kind of an "oh, shit. Ive got nothing, better make something up," kind of thing. And so they kinda marketed around Christmas time as a sort of "celebrate like the Americans do," type deal. And it caught on, because the public, at large, didnt question it too much. And now its just a tradition in and of itself.
17:00 its Ebenezer Scrooge, Disney's a Christmas Carol, hes visited by 3 ghosts and he secretly fears loneliness because a girl he loved was leaving him when he was younger
It's a wonderful gift. I figured you weren't in your best shape. Don't worry, go at your own pace. Take care, Morgan. Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.
"A bucket of fried chicken" is a Japanese(?) tradition I believe.
Yup
It sure is. KFC is Japan's Christmas food.
Shout outs to Ghost and Molly McGee for having a Hanukkah segment which was way better than their Christmas one.
Hopefully you put The Ghost and Molly McGee (Disney) on the watchlist in the future, that show has an episode for Christmas and Hanukkah! (And I heard there might be some LBGTQ representation in the future for that show.)
Don’t worry its on my list :3
Morgan, by the way the woman character who had three singing segments in this episode was Rebecca Sugar.
Also, the letters in the ending suggest that Sasha has divorced parents.
Love the lovely decorated tree 🌲 it looks so prettyyyy
Great video and don't feel to bad I don't really like Christmas all that much either.
BTW Krampus is actually European and is told through Alpine folklore I believe
Nice to see you again Morgan, thanks for putting this video out! Go at your own pace :)
Sometimes i feel like that to myself and i love Christmas like my mom 😁🎄💕🎅.
7:32 Probably nitpicking here, but as a French guy it's funny hearing you speak of "Catholic and Christian" when Catholics make up most of the Christians in my country. I think you mean Protestant, because most Christians in the US are Protestant, but it really highlights cultural differences.
Also despite living there for years, I don't remember if it's the same in the US, but in France, as well as in most of Europe I believe, apart from rather religious Muslim, Buddhist or Jewish families, Christmas is pretty much universal. I mean both my Catholic maternal grandparents and my non-religious Jewish paternal grandparents as well as my atheist parents celebrate it. It's practically a secular holiday.
7:30 yeah theres only about 15 million Jewish people in the world (less than 0.2% of the world pop), nearly half of which live in Israel, compared to over 2 billion Christians (over 30% of the world pop). Plus christmas is celebrated by more atheists worldwide. So it makes sense that Christmas usually takes the forefront, but its great to see some Jewish rep in cartoons. Molly mcgee has some great Jewish rep!
Thank you for this fun reaction! I'm glad you had a god time and I wish you a wonderful holiday season! :D
You missed it, anne had green hair in this intro instead of blue
Edit, fun fact the ghost and Molly Mcgee had the festival of lights first, because 1 of the characters are jewish
I'm actually in San Diego. We usually get rain during December and the coldest it's gotten here I think 55°F I think.
Awesome video Morgan!
Merry Christmas!
I missed you Morgan
I hope everything goes well and hope you're Christmas goes well Morgan 💖💜💙💚🧡❤️💛

Morgan Terry, you should react to The Ghost and Molly McGee
there are so many different ways people celebrate holidays that its near impossible to represent EVERY ONE in a single story. There are some good exsamples like The Halloween Tree, Rugrats, Ghost and Molly McGee, a Nightmare before Christmas, The Leprechauns Christmas Gold . Life with Louie, But Your story would be too cluttered if you tried to put every thing in it even when you try to be all inclusive you can't possibly represent every one.
2nd whatever YOU celebrate, YOU are being left out of TONS of calibrations. Mostly this happens because the people being excluded don't live in your area.
All inclusive isn't just Christmas Tree and Manora its also a Yule Goat, wooden shoes, Yule Cats, Pinatas, Fried Chicken, Oranges, Krampus, Straggele, Mari Lwyd, La Befana , Nisse, Festivus, St. Lucia, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, the Epiphany,, Bodhi Day ,Las Posadas , Hogmanay, Bodhi Day, Black Peete Ramadan ...which isn't a winter holiday but I would know that if there was ANY effort to educate me. Like I know more about all these other things that don't include my but not that one because they get on youtube, they get on TV.
Point is 1. TV , movies and other media needs to do more to expose kids to culture
Pont 2. I would NOT put more then THREE holidays in a TV show movie, school or town hall
I would recommend making your holiday have local appeal. and if you want representation for YOUR people MAKE it happen. Film a movie, out on a play, write a song. People won't discover your thing if you don't tell them about it.
I used to have a cat named Taz he passed away yours ago.
Are you gonna watch arcane?
