I have to say how White does against the Vikings I think will show what he can do. Vikings defense is bad, but White leading the Jets to a win and being the only team in the AFC East this year to beat the Vikings? That will make him look pretty damn good to management I feel.
I’d be good if the Jets stuck with the hot hand for as long as it last for before going back to Wilson. I think that’s the easiest way to keep Wilson benched and mitigate a media blowup. You can easily say we still believe in Zach but Mike has the hot hand and we’re sticking with that for now. And if he keeps playing well the rest of the year then you make that decision. If they did transition to White I think it’s an ok move because he’s still young and has years ahead of him versus jumping onto a Flacco as a duct tape fix who would be gone within a few years because of his age. But at the same time people are hopping in the Mike White train prematurely. Last year he had a couple good games but he also had s couple horrible games, namely throwing four picks against Buffalo. He needs to string some games together before a team makes a call like this. There’s also the boring reality that it’s hard to know how a player will do once teams get film on them and prepare for them. It’s fairly common to see a backup play well when nobody has tape on them and then revert once defenses can prepare for them. But outside of Wilson becoming what they hoped he could be White would be the ideal scenario. He’s young and could be a long term solution. And it’s clear that the team loves him. And it would be super cool for him to fight through years of being a backup to finally get a chance to be the guy and to take the reins and become that guy for this team. And it would be the best media scenario for the team if they had to move on. But if they did move on from Zach he would definitely get a chance elsewhere. Most all high drafted QBs do it just wouldn’t be him coming in to be the starter somewhere. Even a guy with attitude issues like Ryan Leaf got multiple chances after San Diego cut their losses. A team would definitely take a chance at Wilson’s talent working out for them if the Jets did move on. They just wouldn’t get a lot for him if they did.
Zach struggles against Pats….’He’s done at 23.’ White struggles against Pats and Bills, that dude can throw!!! I think if White can manage the ball for the rest of the season he should be QB1, but if he has another INT fest against a good D then he’s out.
Mike White is capable and that's what matters most for the Jets. Guys all have good and bad games, even superstars but the capability of big games is yuge.
mike white has a 300 yard game and 400 yard game in 4 starts compared to one 300+ yard game for zach in 20 starts.. mike is 1 touchdown shy of zach after one game this season.. garrett wilson has not caught a touchdown pass all year from zach wilson he has 2 with joe flacco and 2 with mike white. elijah moore just caught his first touchdown pass all season and had a great game. zach wilson (more like sack wilson) is built like my 14 year old son. mike whites 6’4 sits in the pocket like an absolute beast. sack needs to just worry about running onto the field and giving mike white water when he needs it
I wonder if NYJ perennial terrible seasons are related to how NYJ fans tear apart their own for the slightest thing. Maybe the reason teams like Packers and Cowboys have better W-L is because their fans support them, even when their teams or individual players have an accute case of being human.
Wilson was drafted second overall. That should be his team. Anyone in that situation would be pissed off! He’s a kid, let’s not crucify him for getting upset in the moment. He was drafted for his talent, if his time with the Jets is done, he will have another chance. Good luck to him regardless. -Bills Mafia Edit: Nate Peterman is still playing, Zach Wilson isn’t done 😂
I've been a jets fan since I started watching football in 2001. I've seen us go through a LOTTTT of first and second round QBs that didn't work out. Bad coaches. Bad chemistry in the locker room. The team likes MW. I've never been on the ZW train. He's never shown a level that is superbowl contention. Mike white shows that he CAN be the guy. I am 100% behind dipping on wilson right now and giving MW his chance. I still have nightmares about how solid our defense was in 2009 2010 and watching mark sanchez hold us back from greatness. If the QB isn't workingand doesn't have the right attitude, move on. Especially when the rest of the team is so ready to compete. Just my 2 cents 🤷
Cardinals we’re still drafting #1 when they had Rosen as their QB, so they had the opportunity to draft a new one and move on. This is different because the Jets could possibly have a later draft pick because White has shown to at least be able to move the football and drive the offense. Even with the INTs. This is the version of RG3/Kirk Cousins where it’s not injury driven at the start.
Expect White to be benched by the start of the second half vs Minnesota! Zach is the true starter he just wasn't humble enough for realize his own short comings and lost his job.
Great thing is, Jets have got a culture now under the new management. And they pride their culture over one player. Someone could trade for Wilson. Panthers would give a first round lol. He has a good ceiling but the dude has to read the game. Mike White reminds me of Brady. 5th Round pick and has that pocket presence. What a story if we see Jets be under White for many years to come.
I think Mike White should be given an opportunity to start the rest of the year, also not too fair of the PMS to just absolutely bury a 22 year old kid struggling to figure it out in the NFL.
Hey Pat, I have no idea if you read these comments but what do you think about the last few Jets QBs getting dumped and doing WAY better then on the jets? Geno Smith doing better in Seattle, and Sam Darnold not throwing at ghost
Mike White had eight interceptions in 2.5 games last year.😂 Zach is getting a raw deal being labeled a bad teammate because of one bad snap answer which he has already apologized to the team. People don’t like the “rich” white kid drafted #2 and getting all of the hype out if college. You can’t tell me players, media, and opposing fan bases were not rooting for this kid to fail. I would not want to see Mike White vs the patriots because I think it would end worse than last week. The only thing Zach did well last week was not turn it over, and I’m not confident Mike white would have done that.
@@jeoffbenzos4959 all i need to know!
I know Wentz isn't the best QB, BUT look at how Taylor loves him and speaks volume, how he HELPS his development...Professionalism is a must.
Not exact comparison, but losing a starting job, you are one play away from back in...
wonderfully said. if you look at the Jets offense from this game, read the body language. look at their pure ecstasy in having FUN playing. they looked miserable with Zach at the helm. all that matters is he makes the passes he needs to and let the talent on the roster take the helm. he wasn't ecstatic for himself that game, he was ecstatic for his teammates. professional that knows his job
These WKU QB's are tearing the league up this year.
at -5.22 . . . When homeboy was about to throw down the adjectives about Zach Wilson, the word petulant flew into my head right before he started talking and petulant was the first word he used.
That's not a good sign for the kid.
I couldn't believe Zach Wilson wasn't the first guy high-fiving Mike White after a touchdown. Does he not have a veteran agent to clue him in about how he looks to the world? I'm sure that would have been the last thing he felt like doing, but does he want an nfl career or not?
As a Vikings fan I expect Mike White to absolutely destroy our defense, get talked about by all the talking heads and proceed to have a come to Jesus moment against the bills. I’ve seen this story way too many times
Wilson just beat the bills. I think he loses to the bills but he doesn’t get destroyed
@@wallywanker7435 the defense White would see is vastly different from what Wilson saw. Add an All pro CB All Pro Saftey and Pro Bowl LB out on the field
Granted at this point, any qb can destroy our defense. Lol.
As a bears fan, mike white did fine, but he did not beat a functional defense.
We beat the Bills with Zach Wilson 🤷🏻♂️lol. Not sure what year you’re talking about.
As a life long jets fan I can tell you one thing. Losing isn’t something we are afraid of. I’d personally rather lose every game than have someone who takes no personal responsibility be the leader of the team.
Crazy to think him and zappy both have started some games this year and they both went to college at wku. As some one who lives in the area this is crazy how both of them are doing and people from the area are cheering for the jets now and are cheering for the pats when zappy plays
When he was drafted I said to my friends "Well he`ll be good on his next team". Sometimes you gotta look for what the real problem is.
You think the jets are the problem?
@@melancholypuppy3595 Bad coaching
@@helluvatime4562 i think he's bad like Josh Rosen
@@melancholypuppy3595 Well that remains to be seen, he has the physical gifts though. But for certain Robert Saleh is not a good head coach, they would`ve been better off sticking with Adam Gase.
@@helluvatime4562 jets are better now than anything Gase did in his time lol
Saints need to make a trade offer for Mike White. That should solve the Zach Wilson problem
They cougars teaching Zach some new things for sure. If only one of them taught football 😂
FYI, White did not start the NE game last year. He came in when Wilson was hurt .
Zach Wilson is the ultimate blue falcon :😂Semper Fi
Me thinks you don't know what that actually means lol...stop pretending to be in the military when you can't use the lingo correct.
Zach struggles against Pats….’He’s done at 23.’ White struggles against Pats and Bills, that dude can throw!!! I think if White can manage the ball for the rest of the season he should be QB1, but if he has another INT fest against a good D then he’s out.
He didn’t just struggle against the pats. He hasn’t been good in any game tbh. At best he’s been average in a couple games if that.
That tweet was so unnecessarily hateful 🤣🤣🤣
Should have kept the job since last year
Magic Mike Hall of fame incoming!!
Mike White is capable and that's what matters most for the Jets. Guys all have good and bad games, even superstars but the capability of big games is yuge.
I’m black but yelling White Power everytime he makes. A great pass has been awesome for meme potential
Imagine him getting the nickname The Great White! 🤣
😂
Big 🐓 Mike Whites
Big gallo Mike white?
mike white has a 300 yard game and 400 yard game in 4 starts compared to one 300+ yard game for zach in 20 starts.. mike is 1 touchdown shy of zach after one game this season.. garrett wilson has not caught a touchdown pass all year from zach wilson he has 2 with joe flacco and 2 with mike white. elijah moore just caught his first touchdown pass all season and had a great game. zach wilson (more like sack wilson) is built like my 14 year old son. mike whites 6’4 sits in the pocket like an absolute beast. sack needs to just worry about running onto the field and giving mike white water when he needs it
Zach Wilson ain’t never getting back in half the defensive line celebrated with Mike white after the victory they can’t stand Wilson 😂
The heavy accent on “scouring” made me feel like I was home.
I wonder if NYJ perennial terrible seasons are related to how NYJ fans tear apart their own for the slightest thing. Maybe the reason teams like Packers and Cowboys have better W-L is because their fans support them, even when their teams or individual players have an accute case of being human.
If jets win their next two games with white, and he doesn’t have a turnover turmoil, then he will officially be the starter for next year too I bet.
Wilson was drafted second overall. That should be his team. Anyone in that situation would be pissed off! He’s a kid, let’s not crucify him for getting upset in the moment.
He was drafted for his talent, if his time with the Jets is done, he will have another chance. Good luck to him regardless.
-Bills Mafia
Edit: Nate Peterman is still playing, Zach Wilson isn’t done 😂
It’s kinda rough, cause if Zach Wilson played that Bears defense, he’s putting up his best stats of the year
No he’s not😂 Zach is literally the worst QB in the nfl that was a starter. I’d rather have Jamies Winston or baker mayfield over Zach Wilson
You are right. I fully believe Zach Wilson could have passed for 77 yards if he had faced the Bears.
Mike White is a flash in the pan. hes not the answer Hes not the long term answer.
That is a given ...bears have the worst defence in the league and didn't have there starting qb ...Americans love over reacting to one game
Sam darnold hasn’t done anything since leaving NY 🤣
Connor telling Pat that Baker will be a good backup if he doesnt have to play is hilarious to me
Zack Wilson really look like the green goblin lol 😂
Go mike white and go Bailey zappe. Western Kentucky pumps out backups that could/should start
Yo why’s Zach Wilson in the thumbnail look like darth Vader after murdering the younglings lol
As a bears fan I could look like an mvp against our defense. They make anyone look like the second coming of Tom Brady! Lol
My raiders defense says otherwise. Raiders defense make anyone look like football gods.
He has said all of the right things since he has been drafted, has traveled during the offseason to work out with all of his receivers. There is a reason most athletes fail in NY, look at the astounding lack of championships from NY sports teams.
Don’t let Chris Simms see this video, he’s convinced himself Zach Wilson is still the guy.
Well simms has been right more than he's been wrong. Picked Allen, Lamar over Mayfield, darnold and Rosen.
@@kelleywilson141 right. I’m in agreement with simms, the ceiling with Zach Wilson is so much higher than mike white. Jets risking alienating wilson is bold. 💯 of the other OC’s in the league believe they can develop this guy into a mahomes. Arm talent is that crazy good.
We also don’t know Mike Whites floor, not a big enough sample size. Mike white comes out and lays an egg this weekend watch how hard everyone back peddles the mike white narrative
@@cdmikes88 totally. Mike is dominating now but yes I completely agree I do not think Zach will be a "distraction" like Pat was eluding to (Manziel category aha). He is a young guy with a lot left to prove
@@cdmikes88 I've probably watched more film on zach wilson than just about anybody on earth other than wilson and Lafleur. He's my favorite jets pick ever. Here's my issue. He does not throw towards his target with his front foot. Aims 30 degrees off line with his front foot/ falls off his back foot/ horrible footwork. His decision making hasn't been that bad honestly. All of this can be fixed and I think that's what the jets are probably working on. 77 yards in an nfl game is not acceptable. In 1 half Mike white has more yards than wilson did in 2 games. 2 more td passes this week from white and he passes wilson. Team is in win now mode and white gives them the best chance at the moment.
Just here looking for a Bo Callahan analogy
"I think you know exactly what you're getting with that guy... [re ZW]
He's a petulant sack of whoaaaaaah" 4:35
i watched football many years. i never heard a QB described that way
He looked like evil Anikin with that hood lol. I just want to win
Carolina doesn’t want Wilson. We’ll roll with Darnold and PJ if we need to.
Exactly
Lol this is a young kid with all the tools, just raw. As a panthers fan, I’d definitely let him take PJs spot
@@arroganceinvictus you're alone on that one my guy, at least Sam didn't/doesn't seem to have any attitude issues, we just got rid of Robbie, the last thing we need on this team is another possible wanna be diva
I mean, on the topic of backup QBs, Brian Hoyer ain't bounced around and STILL found a backup QB job because he's one of the 64 best QBs on the planet. It's the other stuff Pat mentions.
Carolina is done with other people’s problems and I’m a Falcons fan 😅
As this rate Mike white will get some green 🤑 💸.. they have a playoff chance, and probably like a nothing to lose attitude ✈ also love your cast- great comraderie.
As a Bears fan who understands we have beyond the worst defense in the NFL can still tell you Mike White has to be the QB moving forward. Mike understands he has a great defense to compliment him . Zac Wilson is not the guy. He flat out sucks.
I think Mike White is in a Taylor heinicke situation
Reminds me of when cousins took over for rg3.
Revis got put into the jets ring of honor during halftime sunday but they were talking pre game how revis returned one of your kicks to the house in college haha
Is Russell Wilson a distraction in Denver then 😂
Aint nobody want Mormon Manziel to come back. Dudes terrible
Mike White is great at coming in and surprising people...but hasn't shown he can continue it. It should be an open competition, but at the same time, it's still Mike White.
As a Panthers fan I understand having problems with a quarterback Jets y'all are super lucky Mike White looks amazing and should definitely continue to start
As a Bengals fan, when I hear the name Mike White I can’t help but think of him dominating us last year. Keep him in, don’t go back to Wilson.
Go get ‘em Mike White! 😂
Good to see white living up to his potential as the best qb jets fans have ever seen
If I was Zach, I would be scared. I would have hoped that the Jets would actually loose that game, Mike White play terrible, so that there’s no quarterback controversy.
Lose not loose. Loose is the opposite of tight. Truly mindboggling how many people don't know/understand the difference. Is anyone paying attention in school anymore? Spelling and proper grammar go a long way in the real world kids, not RUclips likes.
@@kevinc1891 lol I know the difference just a typo. Thank god for people like you correcting grammar in a RUclips comment that is supposed to be the most formal thing you’ve ever written in your life
How is no one talking about how two no name QBs who are possibly taking over golden child’s at their own position both came from WKU!?
Mike white is cool, But the thing is can you do it Consistently
When he plays against a real team with a real defense and when teams actually have game film to figure him out
Jets have anyone like that on the schedule? Bills? They don’t scare anyone on D this year
@@gorillanut1 remember last year he threw 4 interceptions lol
@@Mikey12347 Yup! Bills D is not the same just like Jets team is not either. Will be fun to watch and see what happens
I knew Wilson was a waste of a pick
Developing a QB from the bench can be a thing.
Robert Saleh made the wisest decision possible to bench Zach Wilson and start Mike White! Jets are starting a new dynasty!
I think it was prolly GM management gave up on him, I wouldn't doubt HC wanted to try something different earlier.
lmfao OP, i can't believe you just used jests and dynasty in the same sentence. the only claim to dynasty they have is one of mediocrity
Similar situation in Washington when Heinicke took over Carsons job. Although Wentz is not whining about it. It's what is best for the team.
Away from Mike white and keep Wilson? Huh?
