I should really wait to the end of a video to comment. But it’s always nice when Meus does in house design rather than rebranding a generic product. It’s cool that they genuinely took our feedback from the Facebook group into their design.
I feel ya on the editing part. I have something of a background in video work. But when I’m running with RC’s so far it’s just been my phone camera. I do edit but it’s super bare bones. At some point I’ll go for higher quality productions. But when it’s just me by myself it’s hard to do that, while balancing work schedule and my college courses. I just wanted to have fun and share a little bit of it.
@@pissedrhino nothing as cool. I started as mechanical engineering but I was working on a film degree. I’m actually going into the airforce since I’m not sure what I want to do and then hopefully I’ll decide and finish a degree.
Thanks for this video. Been debating throwing portals on my trx4m but was hesitant as I like treal portals on my scx24’s, but much to wide on the trx4m’s. My only concern on the meus is the steering link appears to be really low from the pics and be seen, almost lower than the diff which would kind of defeat the purpose of portals if it sits to low and catches on obstacles.
It's good. It doesn't hang below the diff at all. I would watch some of my newer videos because the Treal portals are now the front runners due to Meus quality issues.
Thanks P Rhino for all your amazing help with ripper gear info. I appreciate it a ton. Hade a question on which set of standoffs and spacers to get on AliExpress. Was not sure if they are M2 or M2.5 and lengths. Would like the variety color and multi length set u ended up getting. Thanks
@@pissedrhino Cool I have a ton of the M3 spacers but don’t have any standoffs. What length spacers did u end up using for the shocks. And between the shock tower was 3mm right. Thanks.
@@kevinhill2929 yes, every spacer I use is 3mm and depending on you axles you may need to put two on each top rear mount. You just have to look and see how it aligns. The standoffs were 35mm in length

Hey! Although you probably have figured this out by now, when you tried the Treal weighted hex (on the Meus axle) it actually had little-to-no thread left for a wheel and wheel nut.
The injora servo should fit with no issues except you might have to shim it. If you haven't already purchased one you might want to go check out NSDRC and pick up an rs100m. Now the extensions, as long as they are not the big weighted round ones they will work just fine, it's the weighted extensions that do not work.
@@pissedrhino I’ve got a multitude of servos and mounts I just don’t know if the mount setup on the meus portal is the same as an SCX24? I’m new to the trx4m I purchased 4 a few days ago. @@tcbrc7555 well, I'm not sure. I'm not an scx24 guy. All I do know is , that all micro servos should fit in the Meus lay down servo mount or an aftermarket regular servo mount which would be my last choice. Unfortunately you're just going to need to try your multitude of micro servos and see which one fits best. Just make sure you set your end points or else the servo, even aftermarket will fail unless you get a 11kg or higher rated servo.
@@pissedrhino ok I just looked a little closer at the meus and an SCX24 mount will not work so my next question is can I use a sideways mount on the meus?
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, this is a comparison I needed to see. Does either axel work well with other brands, as in any issue accepting links etc from injora or one another’s brand? Also, would love to hear your thoughts on both brand’s portals once you’ve ran them. I’ve enjoyed learning from your vids. I feel like the only feedback i could give is sometimes I realize I don’t have enough time to watch the longer vids, but I understand you go into more detail which is also appreciated.
Both axles should work with all links available for the trx4m. I know for a fact that injora, Meus, Treal and 2 kinds of generic brass links will work with both.
Thanks. But it is solely out of laziness that I don't use my go pros. You will see that my last two videos were recorded at 8k so the videos are much cleaner. 👍
If you want portals Treal is by far the widest. They are also wider than any other axle for the trx4m. I use those plus a 10mm wheel extension which gives you another 20mm of width.

They watch these videos and read the comments too. This is a good place for suggestions.
The One Thing I Like About The Treal Is It's 1:1 On Portal Gears And Offer Over Drive Gears. Meus Comes With Under Driver Gears That You Can't Change.

M3, you could probably do 2.5 but three just give a little extra space.
Also, I bought every color separately.
Length you should go with 3mm. At times you may need 6mm but you can just double them up.

Fortunately that does not matter, the wheel nuts I use thread inside the extension. Most extensions come with the special nuts.
Can you mount the steering link on top of the knuckle and maybe run a spacer between the servo link and steering link?
No, the servo link will be too high to connect to the servo. The mounts are designed to position the servo and the links in the right position.
I like what you doin no edits is best
Thank you
Thank you

But, the Meus axles have separate holes for shock and links. This is an awesome design.
Just put the camera infront of you instead of at the side but have it angled where you stay anonymous if you please! Otherwise quality is great
No hate on the quality… great info on the axels, wish i didn’t purchase the TREAL axels because they are too wide for a stock build
Me too. I would have had these on my last build and may even swap them out anyway.

Do you recommend the vertical servo mount
No, if you can buy a horizontal servo mount, do it. All of my rippers have been horizontal.

Mine are as wide as you can go.
I do notice though if you talk to the camera with a camera to look at you a lot of people interact with that a lot better
Thanks for the input.
Is there suppose to be a bearing on the front output?
If you are talking about off the diff then yes there is one on the inside and one on the outside.
