      This is the land where everyone is free to enjoy whatsoever they like. Even if there are those with breathtaking intolerance and bigotry wishing it were not so. Whether you choose to enjoy a show with sound moral lessons, or choose to worship weapons you are within your rights in this country to do so. In america people are free to revel in what ever they desire within legal limits mind you.
      Some people enjoy media which was not intended for their age group but made in such a way that older people could get something out of it. The developers of the show had this in mind while producing it, and made likewise statements. Make of it what you will

    In feudal Japan, Crying was thought to be the manliest thing a warrior could do, because it showed he had something he couldn't live without.
    In the 1900's, Pink was the manliest color, because it reflected blood.
    If anything humanity has become more and more feminine over time.

    I became a brony around Christmas of 2015 when I found out that one of my cousins is a brony. He was talking about it and it seemed interesting and I had ran out of shows to watch, since I don't have cable, so a month later I checked out and, within two or three weeks, maybe less, I watched all five seasons on Netflix (I have way too much spare time).

He has a brain tumor, and THOUSANDS of dollars from BRONIES were raised for him. People send him messages every day. People create tons of things for him, and so much more. I just don't get it. Why do people hate on us?! They judge us before they find out who we are. It's not completely about the TV show. It's about the amazing people that we find. The amazing and awesome friends that care. I am so thankful to have found an awesome group of people. I hate the people who judge before they even find out what this is all about. /) *Brohoof* Stay strong dudes.

I am the only teen in my school who likes MLP and is not afraid to show it. from drawing ponies to wearing t-shrits and neckless to full on costumes for dress up day. I don't have a lot of people to talk about my feelings for an episode but because of videos like this and others too, I feel like I'm not the only one who feels that way. I don't have hate for bronies or MLP, but I just have a hard time grasping the appeal.
    I watched an episode of the new series and nothing about it particularly jumped out at me as being beyond a kid's show. Little ponies singing and dancing about going to the ball and other things like that.. I just don't understand how you could watch episode after episode of that.
    I see nothing wrong with males being into feminine things; but I do find it weird that grown adults can be so infatuated in storylines with such arbitrary and childish conflicts. The team behind the show and the animation is great, and I understand that.. but there are a lot of cartoons out there with better animation, and much more engaging subject matter.
    I've heard the argument that the show contains lots of "life lessons" and whatnot, but what "life lesson" hasn't been taught in a cartoon before.. every kid's show same tropes over and over again and this show doesn't really stick out of the crowd when it comes to teaching good morale values..
    At the end of the day, you'll be into what you're into. I'm not hating on you Bronies, you do your thing.. I just want you to know though there's some great cartoons out there that are not about ponies and their pony problems.. and if you knew that but still think MLP is the greatest thing ever.. well Godspeed, Brony.. Godspeed..

    • @Smilley85
      @Smilley85 9 лет назад +9

      *but I do find it weird that grown adults can be so infatuated in storylines with such arbitrary and childish conflicts*
      How about spirits of strife and winter's cold plaguing the land, forcing the last survivours into a frozen cavern, where their internal conflict almost leads to their icy doom? Or a race of parasitical shapeshifters infiltrating society and feeding off the emotions of the populace - leaving them physically and emotionally drained? Or a dragon, whose smoking snores threaten to turn a rural town with a century of darkness. A magic book that fulfills its reader's wishes but slowly turns them ambitious and megalomaniac?
      That's MLP, too. Also, if you watched that episode to the end, you could see how the protagonists' expectations were turned on their heads. And that's the show in a nutshell: it presents you with things you expect to see and then subverts them in new and creative ways.

    • @SnowflakeIcing
      @SnowflakeIcing 9 лет назад +9

      Honestly, it seems as if your just overthinking the show. I watch MLP because I used to watch the previous generations as a little girl with my bestie, I watch the newer generation because it brings back childhood memories. Bottom line is that its as straight forward as it seems, no need to theories, no need to overlook things, its a freaking cartoon for little girls. Suck it up.

      Smilley MLK So what lesson does that teach you? It sounds like a wanna be LOTR.

    • @Smilley85
      @Smilley85 9 лет назад +4

      Those were the central conflicts, not the morale, but if you must know:
      1) *spirits of strife and winter's cold plaguing the land, forcing the last survivours into a frozen cavern, where their internal conflict almost leads to their icy doom*
      That friendship and unity is not just important between individuals, but groups - ethnicities, religions, genders - too.
      2) *a race of parasitical shapeshifters infiltrating society and feeding off the emotions of the populace - leaving them physically and emotionally drained*
      That love conquers all, and will overcome deception and deceit.
      3) *a dragon, whose smoking snores threaten to turn a rural town with a century of darkness*
      That bravery means overcoming your fears, and that you can to stand up for your friends and yourself, even against overwhelming odds.
      4) *A magic book that fulfills its reader's wishes but slowly turns them ambitious and megalomaniac*
      That you have to be honest with yourself and your friends and that you won't hurt their feelings if you are just say the truth.
      And didn't LOTR focus on friendship and cooperation, both between individuals and groups, too?

    • @rackedup3812
      @rackedup3812 9 лет назад +3

      Smilley MLK I get it now. But Why are you in love with this stuff. I mean to be honest you Brings got me mixed up because I get that feeling Where in some ways the ponies are cool. Like the characters I'll give them that. But the plots overall are something you can find is Disney movies. And shows like the Amazing World Of Gumball teach these life lessons but with humor. The jokes on the show are obviously for children. But what people are mixed up about is the show isn't for girls it's for girly girls.

    Honestly, if you love MLP, then go ahead and show it! People should never be afraid to show their interests and what they like, it's what defines us as humans. If I like MLP, and it makes me genuinely happy, then who's to say that it's wrong? (I'm not an actual fan of the series, but recently I've been taking a liking to the videos of Bronycon and Vlogs of die hard fans, that's why I'm on here.) Personally, I never cringe at Brony videos. Sure, they can be weird about their love of this cartoon, but who are we to judge? I'm a fan of many cartoon series, even ones aimed at very young audiences, but I'm never ashamed to show my love of them. If I'm obsessed with something, and I bash on others who are obsessed with something else, then I really shouldn't be talking. Same goes for anyone else.

    I wouldn't consider myself a Brony as I don't participate in the community, but I am quite a fan of the show and enjoy some of the fanmade creations, hopefully as time passes it will become more acceptable by society to enjoy such a series and things like it.
    "Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." - C.S.Lewis

      Brett Jolly That's a question about preferences. The show is indeed just a kid show, but it's extremelly well done. I say, only Disney movies can compare to MLP season 1 as family movies. MLP takes things kids would understand easily and represents it in a way adult peoples don't get bored.
      I won't say, season 2 and later are still the same, but I can't help it - I love the way creators of the show indirectly communicate with people.
      Also, this show have great songs.
      And "Party of One" is awesome.

    So in 65.01 minutes I learned: A shitty show and franchise engineered for little girls was transmogrified by artists and writers in order to facilitate the survival of company Hasbro which then the show evidently became so good that people began to like the show for its "animation, songs, and characters" spurring the first people of 4chan to critically acclaim this show for whatever reasoning that could possibly be arguing which then formulated the Brony fandom as a result an explosion of art and literature resulted from the fandom so they could probably accentuate their high reverence for this television show which started out as a shitty excuse for someone who wanted a fucking horse to come home with them after leaving somewhere else. It took an hour to explain that? I could have been watching Cosmos and learned how the universe began within that much time, damn it.

    Coming from the pits of 4chan, it amazes me that anti-bronies think their words will have any weight after nine years. You didn't have good ammo against the fandom once John De Lancie made his documentary; and you definitely ran out of ammo when Fox News failed to take us down. If you are born in the fires of 4chan, you are unlikely to falter when you leave. Bronies are one of the "Banes" of the internet. Other fandoms are similar, but we came from a dark hole, and definitely shook its foundation.

The first episode I watched was “Applejacks Day Off.” I then started all the way back to Season One, Episode One and watched the series all the way through during the summer. You know, I have no issue with MLP, "bronies", or any other fan of the show. My issue, is with the people that are OBSESSED with the show. People that flip out about it, talk about it constantly, bring that feel the need to show off their constant love for MLP, shove it in other peoples faces, etc. There's nothing wrong with liking the show, but calm down with it. There's no need to prove you like MLP. Like it, enjoy it, but for the love of god, leave the people that don't want to hear about it, out of it.
    And that's not MLP specific either. The same thing can be said about any fandom. Take Homestuck for example. I used to like Homestuck. But it got to the point where I gave up. It was constantly getting shoved in my face everywhere I looked, I just got tired of Homestuck all together.
    Honestly, I don't think a large majority of the hate of "bronies" or MLP, comes from the fact that older guys like the show. It's a show, who cares? The problem is, people get tired of seeing the overly obsessed fans of the show, that won't shut up about it, and feel the need to prove their obsession. And honestly, it's those people that make a fandom look bad in the first place.
    I mean really, I don't mind the show. I've seen a few episodes and it seems like a decent show..could use a few more male main characters, but still, it's ok. But I don't even want to TRY getting into it, because I don't want to be associated with the group of obsessed fans making everyone else look bad.

      I speak for all Bronies/artists/writers and other folks of the like when I say I am anything BUT normal.
      Oh, sure; I live a comfortable lifestyle on the farm, have a supportive family and loads of friends. But I have lived for 28 years with a life-changing (with only some minor changes) condition known as Congenital Hydrocephalus.
      This has left me somewhat disabled. I can't drive, operate power tools or machinery, I'm forbidden from playing a majority of sports and I'm partially blind in my right eye due to Toxoplasmosis.
      Furthermore; due to my non-athletic abilities, I chose to immerse myself in books. This later blessed me with a college grade reading level and I was only 8 years old.
      By the time I was ten; I could read Edgar Allan Poe, Herman Melville and even Shakespeare. Later, I developed a love and skill for writing.
      After graduating High School, I've published two books and wrote 11 others. In life; I was sometimes bullied, harassed and even threatened by others for different reasons than some of you.
      At one point, I almost thought about going down a bad road and physically harming those who've wronged me. But instead, I found friends who were just like me.
      Strange, spontaneous, goofy and yet enjoyed life.
      I later met these same unique people on the social network. They too shared our hardships and unique personalities.
      So I say, embrace your "weirdness." Be proud of who you are because it makes us unique.
      Thank you for your time and, as the video title so affectionately says. Stay Brony, my friends

    I was 11 when mlp:fim aired on tv, me and my sister both saw that it was on demand and decided to watch it just so we could make fun of it (this was before we found the brony fandom). By the end of the first episode me and my sister both were a little suprised and shocked that it was well..... actually good! I am 14 now and in high school, and i am proud to be a part of the brony fandom! /) BROHOOF!

    I watched My Little Pony when I was a teen and I loved the show. I don't consider myself a "brony" because I don't fanboy over it but I was glad to hear later on that there was other men who watched it. Now I know I ain't the only weirdo who watches it

    The most interesting part was how “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” was created and how it was made. The layouts, backgrounds, and visuals were homages to the animation studios from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s. From the likes of UPA, Chuck Jones at WB, Jay Ward for their Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons, and National Screen Service for their Intermission slates that were used in drive-in theaters during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, Hanna-Barbara, and many others.

    Why do people just come into videos that are my little pony based and post in the comments something rude or mean.
    Accept that people are unique and they have their own personality. Everybody has their own opinions.
    I may be over exaggerating, but I think they are being a little racist against us broneys.
    We broneys are just normal people that like a certain show. So just accept the fact that you just need to keep your comments to yourselves.
    There are boys out there that like other shows that are for girls.
    I am a broney, and I'm proud to be called just that.
    Broney for life.

    I dont want any more arguing all the haters, it may be weird but theres nothing you can do to change that, also dont judge a book by its cover, we all learned that in school right? so if your an anti-brony just stay in your comfort zone, dont go and piss off a bunch of other people who just want to enjoy their life

    Brony haters are just closet bronies.
    I've watched a couple of episodes of Friendship Is Magic and it's HILARIOUS! It looks beautiful and is funny as fuck! The humor reminds me of Disney´s The Emperors New Groove. Whats not there to love?

    I wish i never went into the comments. Some of the comments are just pure hate, ok so why are you watching the video, why do you have to be disrespectful, coming into other peoples likes and calling them 'gay' and all that. The thing that gets me most is when you call us "Autisitc" WTF? What is wrong with you to call us "Autistic". It all comes back to the underlying reason we watch the show, "Your opinion vs Mine" So if you dont like the show, then dont watch it, but dont hate people for liking something even if it is a little bit weird (i agree its a bit strange)

    That beginning theme that mixes and combines the show's songs as well as the visuals is about 20% cooler than the Italian version of You'll play your part, and that's saying something!

    This show changed my life, I'm so glad I got into the show, I'm much more positive than if I didn't watch it. This show appeals to me in ways I can't explain, it takes people away from the negativity of of life and takes them to a world where everything is much brighter, this show also brings people together. I wish the world was like the show where everyone can accept others and get along, no more wars no more hate, this show inspires us to strive for a world like that. We are Bronies and we should be proud, we could make a difference in the world, spreading positivity to others because Friendship is truly Magic.
