Welcome to my Girl From Ipanema guitar solo lesson! In this tutorial I'll teach you a whole chorus of The Girl From Ipanema Jazz guitar solo. I'll explain what musical tools I use - from scales to arpeggios, phrasing etc.
To follow along I've made The Girl From Ipanema guitar tab, which also incluse standard music notation. I've also made a professional Girl From Ipanema backing track at fast and slow tempo, so you can play along. It's fun!
I'll show you everythin note for note in my Girl From Ipanema guitar lesson. But I don't want you to just play the solo by heart, but also know what you're doing. That's why I explain the concepts behind the Girl From Ipanema guitar improvisation. I want you to be able to use my lines as avehicle for your own ideas.
I hope you like my Girl From Ipanema guitar solo transcription and you're having fun with it. If you do so, please give my The Girl From Ipanema solo guitar lesson a fat thumbs up, share the love and the knowledge and subscribe my channel!

It never ceases to amaze me how you keep coming up with great stuff. This is one hell of a great solo performance. And your sunshiny happy nature make it a real pleasure to follow your teaching.
Wow, thanks Gerd! ❤️
Im not sure how it is that you have high-quality in depth tutorials for all the songs I happen to look up but you best believe I'm appreciative 👍👍
I've accumulated quite an amount of tutoriaks 😊. Around 200. Chances are I've done the song you're searching for already 😁. Type the song name plus guitarversum into the YT search box, if you want to know if I did a certain song already. Keep swinging 🎶 🎸
Another amazing lesson to get to grips with.. hell I’m loosing sleep practicing this stuff.. brilliant👍👍👍👌
Hehe, take your guitar to bed with you 😊
Wirklich total entspannend Dir zuzusehen und zu hören 👍
Danke, Nikolaus. So soll's sein. Stressfreies Lernen.
The chord progression is pure genius. About 20 years ago a guitar teacher from Italy showed me the observation that in the B section you can repeatedly switch from the ionian or aeolian mode to the lydian b7 mode by changing just one note. Awesome. Thank you for your great videos, that I only discovered yesterday. I subscribed! 😎
Hi Lars, welcome to the jazz ride on my channel 😊 🎶 🎸
Wow... a very sweet solo. Nice guitar tone too. Win, win!!
😍👍❤️
How could I miss this one?! What a great solo! thx for your efforts. You're the best teacher on RUclips!!!
Do you have the bell notification activated?
Great explanation of the scales used, thx Sandra!
Trying my best 😊
So so so so cool! That completes my Ioanema collection from you. Thanks so much!
I agree with the last comment , how do you do it, and how good it is. THANK YOU for what you do !!!
Thank you, Steve, that's so nice of you ❤️
Awesomeness.. shared this on a few social media sites..👍
Wow, that's so cool and helpful! Thanks for all your efforts, Dave! ❤️ 👏
Just on time, thank you!! 😃
Nice! New guitar!!
Yes, a Heritage H-575 (ES175 clone)
Yet another wonderful job. Thank you for all of this.
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it and it's helpful 😊
Excellent lesson, one of the ones I like the most, to teach you how to practice solos on standards. Thank you very much Sandra
Glad it's helpful 😊
Still gold. Love your solos!!! 😍
great solo arrangement 👍🏻 thx Sandra ✌🏻😎
Glad you dig it! ❤️
No one “explains” what they are teaching better than you. This is an excellent tutorial. Mixo#11 to the rescue!! When our full band plays this, I comp the solo beneath a trumpet. Watching this makes me want to tell him what to play. Haha - but we guitar players have to be careful to not over step our bounds, plus - he can’t do octaves😂. Loads of good tidbits in here. Well done, as always, Sandra😄
Hehe 😊 I'd be wary of the well-intentioned advice. That trumpet could become a deadly weapon 😁
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman 😂😂😂 Definitely!
You are a good teacher and musician...thanks. Greetings from Barcelona!
Thanks so much , my friend!
Great solo and lesson on relationships between notes/scales/arps and the underlying chord structure. I've learned so much from your vids.
Glad it's helpful :-)
Superb, as always !
Thanks so much ❤️ Glad you like it.
That was beautifully played, Sandra. ☺
Thanks, Abe! ❤️
Sounds so good, Sandra so : I'll do my best to grab the maximum I can from this great lesson. But of course, the cart must not be placed before the horses, meaning I have to begin with this other video you made months ago (chords and easy comping). Anyway...THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA, here I come ! Ha, ha...
Yes, you're going out the tough way! Chords and melody first, and understanding the song, THEN the solo is easier. You go, boy from Ipanema 😊👍
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Ha, ha, ha...thank you very much. And the solo is truly beautful. Now I understand the song, and I've gone with the solo till phrase 4 I think...
What a beautiful and creative solo arrangement. It is packed with great phrasing, including an excellent mixture of octaves and chromatics. You can really feel the groove. You must have some Brazilian blood in you 😂. Thank you Sandra!
I'm blushing already 😊. My professor at the conservatory used to play in Toninho Horta's band. One of the great Brazilian players. So I really learned a lot from him.
Is that a new guitar? Love it.
Yes, Heritage H-575 😍
Great solo and lesson, Sandra 👍 So beautifully crafted. Will definitely be buying your Bossa package to learn more about Bossa Jazz. Thank you 🙏🏼 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
You are great thanks for your great lessons 😊
Glad you like them!
Young guitarist here! Really loving the solo and amazing teaching :)

Thank you! ❤️
Those octaves in A2 are lit!!!

Hi, I have a request that I don't know if you can make a tutorial of it, there's a song called "The shade of the mango tree - Luiz Bonfá" can you make a tutorial of this song please? It's bossa nova, and it's a little bit hard for me to follow the song
I'll look into it.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman thx!!
Hey I absolutely love this and one of purchase the bossa nova thing but first it won’t recognize my email is being valid and then when I tried to contact it it won’t send it so I’m not sure what’s going on
You can always contact me at info at guitarversum dot com.
I think its time i broke away from the pentatonic scales
Then this lesson is right for you 😊
let go of that Wes Montgomery style ( Boring )...and you're OK. !!
I think you're the only person in the universe who finds Wes boring, lol. But I didn't even have Wes in mind, when I did that solo. I think his influence is just in my blood, like with every jazz guitarist.
