Also, I have some OEM parts that I am not using anymore, in case you guys are interested! I still have my RC shocks, OEM fender flares and front bumper for grabs (Local Preferred)

Its a vacuum canister for your HVAC system to work properly. I relocated mine on the passenger side fire wall and zip tied in place. Fits perfectly under some AC stuff and out of the way.

OutJeeping got it! Honestly my HVAC is working just fine 🤷🏻‍♂️ can’t find anything wrong with it. But I’ll just reinstall it just to be safe. Thank you

Zip tie that canister somewhere in the jeep and get some vacuum hose connections to reattach the hose. They sell assortment packs at any autoparts store. Gets your cruise control and AC working.

I used a vac canister out of a 97 chevy s10 when I ditched the stock bumper. It will fit in the passenger side inner fender next to the battery with minor trimming.

I'm not sure how I came across this channel/video.....but as a fellow XJ owner/lover myself.....CHEERS!
For the circular canister, if you haven't figured it out already, it essentially stores vacuum so that there is always some available to drive the accessories on that line when there is low vacuum pressure in the engine, such as AC or cruise control. Not something that's detrimental, but you will notice small symptoms of not having it.
It looks like your on the East Coast so you might be dealing with mud rather than rocks, but before you buy anything else...pay for someone to weld on some frame stiffeners. I kid you not, you will regret it in the long run if you don't. This jeep looks like it has a straight body and clean paint with no rust. Over time you WILL twist the unibody up and will have door issues and appearance issues.
Cherokee XJ's need that frame stiffened also for stability. Lifting her up and flexing her without it leads to long-term issues. Often times owners don't stiffen the unibody rails and beat the shit out of the XJ until it's time to buy a new one since you can't replace the body. So, if you want to keep this specific XJ, get some frame stiffeners and get them on ASAP. Then you can beat it up and replace doors as you get dents...like mine, lol!
I just finished my XJ with frame stiffeners, 4-link rear to a D60-locked with a coilover conversion. 3-link front to a D44-locked with a coilover conversion, a custom cross-member to support the links, and a skid-plate from the cross-member to oil pan...all sitting on 35's. If you're going to jump up to 37's it is CRUCIAL that you upgrade front + rear axles to at least a D44. If you go with the D44, it isn't recommended to run the 37s without upgrading the shafts, u-joints, and ball joints up front and upgrade the shafts in the rear. On 37s with a D44, selectable lockers is ideal cause you can turn them off in sections that are causing increased strain on the shafts + u-joints with the 37s.
Here is what I'd due before you spend/waste money on stuff that you'll end up replacing in the near future. Especially since it sounds like you wanna link her up. It's easy to get carried away with cosmetic and creature comfort upgrades.
    (1) Plate the frame. Companies like RuffStuff Specialties make a great front kit. Be sure to plate front to rear though.
    (2) If you have money to spend, buy new axles front and rear (D60 pref., but D44 are just fine on 35s).
    (3) Build the axles up: E-locker/ARB locker in the front and a detroit in the rear. 4130 axle shafts. CTM u-joints...these are the most durable u-joints on the market and well worth the cost.
    (4) You're ready to link. You can do it in two stages (rear -> front or front -> rear) if money is an issue. 4-link in the rear and 3-link in the front has great road manners. I cruise down the freeway at any speed like a straight bullet. If you want to go coilovers, the time to do it is when your linking the rig.
    (5) Beefy drivelines
    (6) If you rock the D44, throw 35s on her....37s if you have the balls. If you rock the D60, get crazy with it.
    (7) A great upgrade is hydro-assist stearing. This will give you less resistance when the front axle is in a bind. You can do it cheap as well.
New subscriber here. Sorry for the long post. I love XJ builds too much.
