That’s very interesting I’ve never heard that and with a boggie there’s not enough movement to cycle all the way around

You are correct. I've even got more video coming up in the subject cause I have a correction to make.

Nice tutorial about purging old grease vs. blowing a seal out.... some will never get it; especially since we have battery powered grease guns now😂
Hope you have a good weekend!

Thanks Mike. I am the one who asked you to show the guys how to do it. One, either they dont grease it at all and the seal goes out and the rear end oil starts leaking, or 2nd, they will over grease without venting the grease points to stop from popping that seal. Further, I have seen guys over grease turret bearings on tracked machines blowing out the dust seals. Then you have to REALLY grease it to prevent dirt from getting into the bearing. And we all know how nice it is to try and replace such a bearing. The same with the turn bearings on the Waratah 600 series heads. DO NOT OVER GREASE THEM. Follow the ops manuals. Nearly every head/machine I have seen down here has those dust seals blown from not following the proper proceedure provided in the ops manuals.

The grease does not grease the rollers. Grease is only to create a seal from dirt bearing is a sealed bearing.

I understand that. I'll have to watch my own video again and see where I mis spoke. Perhaps a video of the two halves cleaned up with an actual greasing demonstration. My mouth doesn't always say what's on my mind. Thanks for pointing it out.

I have questions.. how the drivetrain system works on these machines.. we have a Rottne f15d, 2015 just hit 7k hours, and not sure if its the warm weather we got today and packy snow but I noticed a sound I hadnt heard before, coming from the front bogie system.. is it all gear driven inside? Is it good to lock the diffs when under load instead of being in AWD mode... how often does the articulation need to be greased, like the big bearing thet lets the bunk roll side to side... not the hydraulic rams but hopefully you get it.. would love to see a video on that and maybe how the extended boom system works, how often to grease, thx

We will never be obsolete! The millennial generation will keep us busy for years. I have operators of 600k machines that go to work in there sandals and shorts. Ha Ha. Maintenance is for someone else they say!

Isn't the short arc wear pattern on the inner race by the balls due to the very short travel arc of the outer race (bogie) itself?
If so....... every so many hours a guy could rotate the bogie but if the labor of doing so is cost prohibitive scratch that idea.

    nice video man! very helpful.
In the bearing in the new naf it is two seperate compartments where there are grease, and the outer is for stopping contamination coming into the main bearing, and it seems to only be possible to change and add grease to the outer one and the inner is permanent, but i think that seems stupid but i dont know!? i have no way to check if there is even grease in there maybe it has leaked somewhere. its a swedish ecolog 574d i dont think you have those in the states :D

I would sure hate to buy very many of those... lol
I was guessing the price before you told it and I was at 1800 to 2200 dollars, way off.
