Just got back from Dubai. We were touring Damac Hills and Damac Hills 2 (SOOO far out in the boonies!). I am not overly impressed with the construction quality in Dubai. We have stayed in a bunch of places around there over the years, and they all seem to be prematurely falling apart. I want to move my tax home from Canada to Dubai in the next year, but I'm really torn on where/if to buy. I do like the layout that you chose! So many of the Dubai properties look like they were designed by an architect who has an aversion to sunlight. Your's looks nice and bright!

Ever heard of rotton-tail projects? In China people would pay full price, make mortgage payments from day 1 and many projects would never finish because the funds would be invested in other projects which now don't sell. Result: home buyers end up with unfinished property and will be blacklisted if mortgage payments are stopped.
Hi Mike, in Dubai we have a government controlled system which oversees payments to properties that are under construction. In short, the buyer makes payments to an escrow account in installments tied to construction progress, making off-plan property purchases much safer
