Graupner a contemporary of JSB, actually wrote even more music than he did! Around 2,000 works. He is an important link in the transition of late baroque to early romantic/classical style of composition, yet still sadly neglected.
Yeah... Probably bez Bach is overshadowing everyone, while Graupner is not really famous in his time... (Even if he was famous, that doesn't guarantee fame as well, check Galuppi for instance qaq)
@@SisselOnline I think Graupner was popular in his time, but I seem to remember that his music fell into obscurity due to some legal issues over the copywrites after he died. Not sure about this, would have to research more.
