@@mk6mike1.86naw Ross wanted to sign nip but nip wanted to do his own thing nip said it in an interview ..it was still love tho
Nip killed that verse one of my favorite verses of his
Naw Jesus piece the best song ever

That song “Swangin’” with Scarface was a banger!

I rocks with Stally hard body

That sh*t was hard ass 🤫
Still bump Lincoln Way Nights. One of the best mixtapes ever assembled.
Completely agree that tape was special
Stalley best work. I became a fan after that but the feel kind of changed after that not going to lie except swangin with face that song crazy
@@alexanderhughes4728 Yeah but Savage Journey to the American dream was up there! Honest Cowboy was nice too.
@1stnamebr406 yeah they was cool but I found it difficult to listen all the way through for me it was a couple tracks on each where as Lincoln way was dope pretty much back to front
@@alexanderhughes4728 Oh
Pill got completely erased from the MMG lore fr lol He was an original
He didn’t do much his time was to short to leave a mmg mark
He was trash
Tracy T. As well and now Slab lol
Pill was trash
@@stephjuststephpill was good
He wasn't willing to sell his soul for money and clout. RESPECT

Yeah, sounds like they wanted him to compromise is core fan base for mainstream success and he wasnt going for it. Im the same way, if something doesn’t feel right gotta let it go, relationships, people, jobs. Whatever doesn’t sit well, God conscious gotta remove yourself….bottomline.

Fr
that’s a reach he ain’t say much . he just saying he not trying to push a agenda and be someone he’s not
S/o Stalley for saying “I had a manager that invested in me!” That’s beyond SOLID‼️ A LOT of artist swear they did it on they OWN.
Jay z
Dame helped both of em, and got left behind!
@@Zeke864sc that's like saying Jay was the architect, the maverick that fought for his people in those boardrooms. Moving his other clients and putting all his resources behind Dame? Guess it was also Jay that made sure everyone was eating, pushed Beans, Cam to boss up and wanted Ye to be an artist on the Roc? Put lee daniels, kevin hart on. Dame was just the talented egoistic artist that was really all about himself. Soon as Dame was in position, thanks to Jay's fearless business acumen, he split and sold out his 2 partners to roll with the little hat crew. Make matters worse, making one of the biggest rats in NY drug history the president of his company.
Lil boosie artist
@@check2000 Dame tried to put currency music out without spitta agreeing to it. Currency ended up suing dame because of that and that whole situation put a pause to his career. Dame was hired to direct a movie and he tried to change the films original name and put it on his own platform behind the person's back .
I knew stalley from the currensy address video !! Currensy fan since 06, plus Party heart song im still listening to.
Facts
Big facts! Spitta my favorite rapper of all time!! Bruh hella cool, even got to smoke a lil wit em, chill down to earth cat

Spitta the goat!
Everyone killed they verse on Party Heart🔥🔥
Curren$y introduced a lot of rappers at that time
That was Dame who did that not Currensy
@@berlingray8058these dudes were making music & had deals before Dame. Dame only knew them cause his nephew “Da$H” use to listen to them heavy
Freddie Gibbs, Stalley, and Dom Kennedy
Don’t forget Wiz

Ross put me in to alot of dudes i wouldn't normally listen too..wale,meek, stalley..tracy T, gunplay .. because i was a ross fan.

Rokcky fresh and Stallley were nice asf but just too much of a different flow I feel like stalley more of a jcole style lyricist
tracy t is trash lol
Tracy t nice
Stally was dope fr. Its dope to see he aint salty about it , he grateful for it.
Say one dope bar he ever said
@@Marcpluggedwiththecuban3 you got me.🤦🏽😂 but I do remember he had a couple cool songs on my iPod lol
@@Marcpluggedwiththecuban3lmao this comment reminded me of a time I was talking to my barber & I asked him if he listen to Stalley, he said “I don’t like people who don’t rhyme and have nothing much to say” this was before his “Ohio” album came out. Always stuck with me l lol
Was? STILL is.
*Ross originally wanted Wiz & Curren$y as MMG. They recorded Choosin’ but decided to stay indie. Wale & Stalley were back up choices and he just got lucky finding Meek in Philly when he went to the radio station and heard he was the hottest in the city.*
Meek was originally with ti remember, and wale and stalley should’ve stayed independent. They really didn’t fit in with mmg.
@@Lifeofshawn248 yeah but Tip never officially signed him. They both was looking at some jail time.
Wiz woulda been funny. Wiz became a name himself til this day .
wale was signed with mark ronson at interscope before getting with ross
@@GraveyardTV true. So did Curren$y. He has a loyal cult following and is rich from it. Ross was trying to sign Nip as well. Warner Bros gave him a label deal so he was recruiting.
Fountain of youth TIMELESS
Wale never switched up, if you really listened to his lyrics you know his artistic integrity stayed solid. The only thing that changed was the style of beats.
I been listening to Stalley since i heard Lincoln Way Nights,...was super excited we he signed to MMG,....They shoulda put more into Stalley, he dope.
He didn't have the it factor he was just a background character.
@@airfrance4365 Meek has the it factor huh goofy?
Yeah I was hyped when mmg signed him but meek got all the attention
"I'm not here to make you believe..." goes such a long way.....💯
Jay Hill is willing to ask the challenging questions without being messy I appreciate an interviewer that has real questions and their own mind but still has the utmost respect for their guest.
Cleanse is by far one of my favorite songs…so pure really respect Stalley’s artistry 🔥🔥💯💯
🔥🔥
Top song from him
My morning song 🫡
@@slythekid9487 Great start to the day bra💯💯
The one verse I remember to this day from Stalley was him on the MMG compilation with a record called “Zenith” it talks about everything he said in this interview, that grind and struggle behind the scenes
I still bump Swangin' feat Scarface
My favorite
Loved this interview. Asking tough questions with respect and understanding. Good job bruh. And shout out Stalley!! 🫡
Stalley solo debut on MMG was a great Hip-Hop album still is today actually! 🔥🔥🔥
🧢
“Scared money don’t make money, a broke mouth can’t speak for me!” - Stalley 💯 #IYKYK
I still bump savage journey to the American dream and Honest Cowboy
Not willing to compromise and stand on morals and principles 💯
In a nutshell, Stalley didn't want to sell his soul for fame and fortune. Good man.
Word to wise artist. If you have your own shit going on (tour, image, music, etc.) DONT SIGN TO ANYONE.
Ross tried to sign Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa but they respectfully declined
I can apply Stallys perspective to my current situation. Thank you
The job of a Manager is NOT to invest into the artist, it is to Manage affairs artists are already bringing in. Your “Manager” went above and beyond & is due a bigger check.
All I hear is entitlement from Stalley.
Managers are the new labels
Damn Man I"m 24 now I miss them days of YMCMB,MMG,G.O.O.D Music. Was a fan of whole maybach Meeks I'm a boss made me fan of meek.stalley lincoln way nights made me a fan him.Wale his verse on no hands with waka before mmg made me fan.Rockie Fresh life long made me a fan of him.Gunplay power circle verse made me a fan.But whatever happened to pill man fr.seems like after self made 1 poof💨 he was gone.
Stalley would have been better on Shady, maybe even Good Music. The best situation for him at that time honestly would just to stayed independent. I knew he wasn’t gonna get a record like “Body” over Wale and Meek. Omarion got signed and Ross and was still helping push French Montana. 3 years after signing with MMG, Stalley’s debut album release at #40 with 10k sold first week. Honestly not bad, as the physical and MP3 sales was dead and streams was not counted as sales yet and he did not have the best promotion. In comparison, Omarion’s MMG debut right after Stalley and only sold 16k and debut at #49. I believe Stal could have done those same numbers independently. No way Atlantic was going to sign off on another option for a sophomore release.
Shoutout to Stalley, he’s a good dude! Glad to see he ain’t aged a bit ✌🏽
Shady? Man, fck no!
Good Music would've done better with him. But Shady especially at that time it wouldn't of worked he'd be on the shelf.
I beg to differ. MMG was the perfect fit for his style. Shady? Hell no. Good Music? Maybe (because I don't he would have stood out)
i first heard stalley on fountain of youth w nip and ross. one of my favorite songs to this day
Stalley & Wale should have been on Good Music at its height..
Maybe Stalley but MMG worked out just fine with Wale
lol that was never happening. When you get a chance go look up how Kid Cudi & Kanye felt about Wale….musically
@Tenchi-fi5gb lol I was just saying in terms of the type of music they made...didn't know they had a issue with Wale though
I always felt good music would have been a better fit for wale he would have truly shined with them.
Good Music would've been a better fit for Wale
The song "Swangin'" was the shit!
First time I heard Stanley was on the power circle song his verse was the third hardest
If you're able to buy yourself some property out right. And leave the table with some decent bread to invest. You've done well..🤷🏾♂️ he played it his way too..Salute!!
Staley music was always dope. Coupes and Roses is a classic. Some of the MMG tracks with him on them are 🔥🔥🔥
Who is this interviewer… sounds like he would sell out at the 1st a big Check… 🤦🏽♂️ Shout to Stalley for keeping his integrity
Curren$y ft Stalley-address is my favorite song
Why do ppl always think any rap label has to have the same type of artist
Jay Hills questions are TOP TIER!!
Ross couldn’t really sell him. He wasn’t street like meek or did music for females like wale
S/O to currency frfr for being a real one cause that's love dawg.
Stalley is a cool ass cat. You can tell he has a old soul. Very chill and mellow. I remember him before he got signed to MMG. I used to see his videos on WSHH back in the day. On another note, I really liked the Host. Very likable person and asked all the right questions. Peace everyone!
At the end of the day Ross gave him a shot put him on the team Stalley had a good run and he appreciates it
What Standing on Business look like, a person who stands for nothing will fall for anything!!!!!!
Interview skills on point. I like the style. He tried to make him fold by grilling him with questions to feel em out but he stood firm on his principles. Much respect to stalley too. 🤝🏾🔥
*”Stalley & J. Cole on a collab album would be dope” 🔥🔥🔥 - MELL DUNEY 616*
YO THIS INTERVIEWER HAS A NEW SUB! HE WENT IN WITH GOOD QUESTIONS! POWERFUL INGO!
I was under the impression that stalley was already well off financially before he ever joined up w mmg
I like how the interviewer got him to open up more because he was holding back. Shout out to the interviewer 🫡
The interviewer will learn over time to stfu when the guest is speaking.
Shout out Stalley. Great conversation
Shout out to Dame Dash for giving stalley and spitta those opportunities and being ahead of the game with creative control platform 💯
Nah man Dame actually did currency dirty. Dame tried to put spittas music out on his platform without his promision and currency ended up suing him
Stally definitely makes some good music listening to some of his joints when at the gym
Mid
All of his tracks with Nip BANG!
I still listen to the MMG vol 1-3 albums all the time. Such a dope era
Stalley STILL IS an acquired taste pause n talent he’s always been himself n won like dat N STILL DOING IT
AAYO!!!
Everybody used Dame, Damn!
It ends up that way. He is extremely not the best to partner with. People got to want to work with you. Simple!
Nah there’s just a ceiling with Dame. You’re only going to go so far. Plus it’s said the longer you work with him the worse he gets.
@@larryhenryjr.6598 A ceiling? 🤨He has his own streaming network, video production studio, music production studio, acres, clothing, shoes, etc. (Without a boss!!!!!!!)
No one person has anything like this. 🤔You can’t name 1. I’ll wait. Dame is Great & a Genius!
😅😅
@@rioshabazzel8797he don't own shit bro and he does bad business. Currency sued him because Dame tried to put his music on his own platform behind his back. Dame can't pay his rent and has been evicted and u really believe he owns any companies?
Enjoyed Stalley’s combat jack interview, that was the first time I’d heard of him. Dope artist, seem like a super solid dude. God bless.
Great interview .... Stally we get it!💯✊🏿
He wanted to stick to himself without anyone trying to control him salute stalley
He didn’t really say why he left though
they didn't for that roster, but ross gave them

Dem Boyz were quick checks for Ross...the crumbs off the table ain't enough for everyone
man they was still good regardless idc what yall saying
What it be like ft Nip and the highest my favorite 2 tracks by Staley. Very underrated
With everyone and their momma doing podcasts, it's proof you can do anything you put your mind to.
YO!! THIS GUY IS A GREAT INTERVIEWER. GOD BLESS
HIM
for all those saying he should’ve stayed independent, true indeed. But Wale got perfectly with MMG he brought another dynamic to it rather than the flashy, hustling, gangster part of it. Wish they would’ve put out another MMG album but that ship has sailed
Genuine dude, always gives credit to those who’ve supported his journey… #HighCharacter
Stanley was around a bunch of fake gangstas and probably felt uncomfortable.
Shout to him for not selling his soul and not wavering on his true morals and values ❤
Stalley a real one. Most of these rappers trying to be somebody else cause they dont know who they are.
Wale can make any type of record. Even on harder beats he still stayed Wale in them verses. 💯💯💯
Savage journey to American Dream...since then always checkin in. Big up for being a real humble human being.
Nip was thinking of signing to mmg at one point
& Dom Kennedy. I'm glad neither of them did
He got respect stalley mindset he doing what's better for him
That's exactly why I fuck with stalley.....nd he has one of the best songs on earth coupes nd roses 🌹
DOPE CONVERSATION 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I remember seeing Stalley selling selling his cd in queens .. respect the grind
Stalley Lincoln way nights got me through so much including that chain smokin with Gunplay nd Curren$y. He deserved to be on MMG you worked hard
Great conversation
Wtf happened to Rocky Fresh
Dude disappeared 😂
None of those dudes turned a profit or maximized their connections
I rather lose a friend and fame before I lose myself.
Savage Journey to the American Dream is a classic
Nice Interview Man Stalley Got Some Albums💯💥
As soon as he said you can't when its about jeopardize your morals.. you know where hes going with it. Enough said, if you know you know
Had to sub!! Good questions.@13:15, Stalley projected sum weight! Shoutout to my dude, OH10💯💈
I knew Stalley all the way back when he was in his hometown Massillon when we was kids. I use to live there in the project houses and on 8th Street. I’m glad he got that major breakthrough but the way he wasn’t put into position right wasn’t cool. It’s like Rozay is emulating Diddy when it comes to the business but tryna portray like he’s BIGGIE on the rap aspect. Yoooo @Stalley KEEP PUSHIN HARD PLAYA
Signing Off, DJVietnam V Dot Nam
Rocky fresh was nice also Ross didn't know what to do with there talent
I remember hearing “Babblin” on MTV Jams and being very intrigued by Stalley. Heard Lincoln Way Nights and Savage Journey to the American Dream and been a fan of bruh ever since. Glad to see he’s still around!
Hold on…I had to come back to say this, hearing this guy challenge Stalley about his decision to leave, when he don’t know the details or been in his shoes gotta be the most arrogant thing someone can project on to someone else. If that was me I would’ve checked him right there. How are you, as an interviewer, gonna tell me how I’m supposed to view success? A BET award ain’t a metric or benchmark for everybody, none of that shit matters or means anything if the artist ain’t happy. This guy got some nerve.
Yo interview was 🔥🔥🔥 yo questions was on point
Read in between the lines they wanted him to sell his soul he said no end of mmg
Aye this was fire 🔥 salute Ohio baby we ten toes
This dude a good interviewer. You can tell he made stalley feel comfortable
these was some good questions good interview
If something doesn’t align with you then you have to remove Urself. You’ll be a fool to stick around hoping for something that may not happen. Gotta move on and keep pushing. Women stick around for the hope, man gotta move when it’s nothing happening
He was just tryna be too much of a positive rapper the label prolly wanted him to do club songs like house party by meek but his personal ego got in way
He a real one. Salute.
