Thank you for informing us about the expiration on the gel polishes. The nail school that I went to "did not" tell us about the expiration date. Again, that you!!
Ive been cleaning my gel brushes in acetone but was pleased to come across your site, you have given me a great tip on how to clean my brushes so they don't end up in the bin, thank you
It's the "recommended" shelf life after being open, it could last longer if you store it well. (Dry, dark, and airtight) Also, not pulling your monomer or powder out of the containers directly (pouring it into something else, like a dappen dish) will help it last longer. Hope that helps! :) TFW
I obviously do that for the monomer but for sure will start that for my powders. Again thank you so much! :) & if I have a lot of left over powder after I'm done with a set, is it safer to just dump that out?
Yes, or set it aside for the next set. As long as your not adding it back into the main powder container you should be fine using it at a different time. The only reason is that when you toss it back into the main powder container you are contaminating it and that shortens it's lifespan. :)
I sooooo miss it acrylic nail vids.... I haven't ventured to gel just yet.... lack of funds.... but at least I will be well educated by the time I do.: )
The alcohol works for me. I used to use acetone, and i always wondered why my brush still felt sticky even when i thoroughly cleaned it. XD honestly i should have known that what takes off the stickiness from the nail would do the same from the brush lol
Hello I'm new to doing gel and I just got these brushes. I have 2 questions for you. 1) how do you tell if the bristles are synthetic? 2) my brushes are hard and not soft....how would I clean them for a first time use? I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!
Most gel brushes are synthetic, mostly made out of some type of plastic. Natural haired brushes usually say on the packaging or on the description of the products when you buy them. Also, natural haired brushes tend to cost more. I use alcohol to clean them before use. I use a little dish and add a little alcohol, then dip my brush in that use a paper towel to wipe it a few times. You'll feel the brush get slightly softer or the bristles move easier as the glue breaks up. Hope that helps, thank you for watching :)
Thank you so much! And I order mine off of wish so it didn't give me much of a description on the package. So using alcohol on synthetic is okay just don't use acetone correct? It did help alot! You're welcome I like your videos. They are very informative for begginers.
Would the rubbin achol work in the nail case aswell as i have been trying to find out how to clean mine. its been bugging me like anything and watching your video and thought this might work please let me know thank you
Naomi Mallabone Hi, yes you can use alcohol to clean gel on most surfaces. It should work as long as the gel isn’t cured (hard). Once it’s hard you’ll need to chip it away or file it off (depending on the surface type). Hope that helps, thank you for watching 🤗
I really , really wanna thank u. Yr the only person that has told me exactly the answer to my question I've ask. Thank u....

I'm glad the video helped you out! Thank you for watching!! :)
Hello, I wanted to know what kind of gel brushes would you recommend for beginners? And size?
What happens when the monomer/powder goes bad? I hate the idea of throwing it all out, I've bought large quantities and I'm the only one using it.
Great tutorial and very informative , thanks .
This was simple and informative. I was wondering if this would work well with Polygel also...
Use nail polish remover 💜 that’s what I use
It's really very informative especially for beginners tq so much for clarifying doubts
Thank you for the idea of using the ELF brush girl!
Great video, I actually didn't know about the date thing lol. Thanks for sharing :)
You're welcome :) TFW!
Do u use a liquid with the gel.??
Is non-acetone safe to use also?
Thank you so much for sharing! I didn't know monomer & powders would go bad. Thanks
