@@nailinthefashion oh I know there are other films out there and I did really enjoy Everything Everywhere All At Once. I do watch superhero based films aswell but of recent story wise they haven't been the best besides Guardians 3. Just nice to have another Sci-fi film to look forward to along side the await for Dune. Everyone has different opinions obviously but I've just been struggling with film choices recently
@@OGCRTG I feel that. Sci-fi and fantasy are neglected and abused by mainstream producers most of the time, but I feel like people have hit a nice stride post pandemic.

If you google Gareth Edwards and the way he shot his first film "Monsters", his evolution and journey had been nothing short of epic.
He makes the Best use Of cgi and scale
He just needs a top notch script to work with because Godzilla and Rogue One were beautiful snoozefests. (Well, Rogue One has been reshot to death to give it a pulse).

Complete love the idea of the A.I. being apparently Japanese. They are pioneers in most of the A.I. stuff and also have a problem with solitude in their country which kind of pushes the technology towards solutions for that. With one of them A.I., wouldn't be a surprise if there were born the first sentient ones and also the first humans that decide to take their side in a possible war. That could also explain why the Nuclear bomb was dropped in L.A. Having A.I. being born as majorly Japanese, it could carry revenge towards WW2 resolution and attempt to do that.
Actually would have been much more realistic if it were Chinese, which are set to be the AI leaders of tomorrow. Japan isn't even in the top 5. Also Japan & US relations have been excellent post-WW2. Much more tension and rivalry with China. But this being sci-fi, writers probably thought it was safer to not upset China and hence not make the enemy too realistic.
What the Terminator franchise could have leaned on... By showing more of the aftermath and the struggle...
the very first scene of the terminator franchise is literally the "aftermath": the Future War. It's shown and referenced throughout the entire franchise, and was even the setting of Salvation and several video games
