Ed recently said the second he laid eyes on his daughter, he knew he wanted to get healthier in every way he could to be the best father & husband he could be. He started working out regularly, stopped drinking & going out much & works more regular hours instead of going for 12 or more hours in studio. You're right that he's talking about his bad habits leading to his wife & daughter, & like the sun, burning away all the bad parts of himself til he's left with his true self in the light of the sun. It's such a fun catchy way of presenting pretty deep lyrics, especially considering this song was a last minute add to the album!

I just watched an interview where Ed said between going to a friend's funeral and having a baby he had to grow up. So naturally he dresses up as a vampire and makes a dance tune! Love him! Remember he also came out with Supermarket Flowers and Visiting Hours, both beautiful. Ed will be making beautiful music for a long time. Being married and a father he'll have more life experiences to pull from. I'm excited to be here for it!
