    I used to have this. I remember sitting in my baby bed playing pop goes the weasel on loop. It really helped me settle. Thanks for sharing

    I believe this was released in 1984; I was born in 1985. My late grandfather gave it to me when I was a toddler, and I still have it. What a great video! Thanks!

    I got it today in a charity shop and my kids and I all loved it. It's a toy that will last forever.

    Slightly odd video compared with your usual ones. Had you dropped your toast butter side down just before or somthing?

    Somebody has managed to 3D print new records for the Fisher Price one.

      I think it would be fun to program a set of plastic "records" that would perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Two Part Inventions in this form or perhaps the early keyboard works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart combined with some works of his father Leopold that he used to demonstrate technique to his children.

    That kid looked to old to be playing with that tape player lol. Should've gotten him a fisher price record player that could play REAL records that and this thing just look babyish lol

    My cousin had one and when four-year-old I went to visit, I though it was the most amazing thing ever. I liked Farmer in the Dell, but he preferred Pop Goes the Weasel.

    I maaay have had fun with that thing? Given i figured out back then that you can make your own discs. Depends on which age of me you'd give that to. I don't think preschool age i would have, hm, maybe, but maybe not. I was fascinated with music boxes. And this comes with swappable music. Idunno.
    Interesting item nonetheless.

    I use to adore that thing. Especially the yellow disc. I still love music boxes and the sound is close enough. A pleasure to hear it again. Too bad I can't turn down the lousy comments though 😑. But well, thanks anyway...for the sound of the toy, not yours

    How absolutely rude you were to this beautiful disc music box. It is a very fascinating instrument and one I would be proud to own, yet you treat it as though it were rubbish. I thought you were better than that.

    • @wyokaiju992
      @wyokaiju992 6 лет назад +1

      "very fascinating instrument"
      Its a bloomin' mechanism out a cheap music box that's been hacked up to use plastic disks for fuck sakes. Nothing fascinating about it.

    You obviously think it's a corny toy. Maybe it is. But it is an antique, and could be worth money someday... if your rough handling doesn't destroy it.

    • @mattjohnson9962
      @mattjohnson9962 7 лет назад +3

      It's not an antique.

      My 1972 Yamaha stereo barely qualifies as vintage, this things just an old corny piece of junk, let alone an antique.

    It's just an old-fashioned music box poorly disguised as a record player.

    • @grimTales1
      @grimTales1 4 года назад

      I thought the same, sounds just like a music box, maybe for really young children or babies? He's rather mean about it though, he wasn't like that with the Tomy Computer or cassette player.

    0:12: Older Brother: “Hey! What is wrong with that?”
    0:17: Dad: “Don’t touch the radio!”

    Yeah. Toddlers prefer that quality "Beep Boop Beep Boop-Boop Beep Bop Beep Boupe Bapp Beeep Boop Beep Beep Beeeeep" that required several rapidly dying "D" batteries that would leak all over every other toy in the toy box.

    Hey Peter (@Nostalgia Nerd
    ).. Remember this kind of thing??. When our elders made a "look a like" toy for us to play with, instead of giving us the real phone, so we could watch porn and get in touch with pedophiles when we were 7 years old?.
    Ohh.. but they were wrong. Our parents were neanderthals. They punished as and slapped us when we miss behave. We are great educators We know better ¿right?.
    Anyway.. AWESOME video as always.
    I follow your channel, but you know, more recent videos.
    I was looking today for info on "Tomy Music Toy". And OPS!.. Our friend Peter have a video on it.. :-D
