@12:48 Looks like your run of the mill 4-pin trailer wiring harness you can buy at most parts stores. That fine, and fairly common thing to do since it does provide you with pretty much all you need to go to the rear of the vehicle. Just gotta remember what color is used for what when you run it up under the dash.
These trailer plugs more or less match GM wiring colors to the rear of the vehicle, here's typical coding for trailer use.
Brown= Taillights
Green= R. Turn
Yellow= L. Turn
Red or white= Brake Lt (if separate) or White= Vehicle Ground
Oh awesome!!!! Man I was really hoping you would know the answer to that one lol. So should that also match up to the colors that are on the gauges now? Or i guess it doesnt matter because ill pull the old wires off huh. Thats interesting I would have never thought of that. Very cool. Thank you so much Brotha!! Really appreciate the help!!!
@@EYE_SPIDER So chances of them matching up is probably unlikely unless the p.o. already changed them. IIRC looking at a diagram, the Original sender wire was blue. I'm pretty sure the p.o. changed everything. To make the gauge work, it just needs power to one of the posts and then the wire to the sender goes on the other post. Keep in mind that the '52 was originally 6V positive ground, Bu now the car is 12v neg ground. So some things must be reversed or have the voltage dropped. Fortunately the fuel gauge doesn't care too much but it is extra insurance to put it on a voltage reducer. They are fairly inexpensive, Fords used 6v gauges all the way up into the 80s. So I just use a voltage reducer for any 50s or 60s ford since they are connected with spade terminals and usually have a mounting flange. One unit is good for 2-3 gauges, no problem. Still available over the counter at most parts stores. I'd have to research more if Chrysler stayed with 6v gauges after their switch to 12v. But at least with yours, we already know they are 6V. You just need to determine which side (post on gauge) was connected to the battery, that's the one you connect to 12v, keyed on. Other post gets the sender wire.
Jack ! Jack ! He's our man if Jack can't do it nobody can. Well maybe Oly. 💪
Oh man Jack and Olys really are, they have saved my bacon so many times! Such great guys!

Great looking car!
Thank you Vino!!! I can't wait to have her on the road!
That Spanish is coming along nicely. That is one advantage we have living here in the United States.
oh man for sure! I can't wait to have her on the road, just a few more parts and I think we should be in business!
Time for a NEW battery! Or if you have a trickle charger (1 to 2 Amp trickle charge) just leave it on the battery for a few days on trickle charge. I do that a lot to revive old batteries.
Yeah I'm def going to throw it on the trickle charger, its only a couple of years old, it just sits so much
@@EYE_SPIDER Overnight for a couple days won't hurt them. I've let one sit for more then a week. Nice good deep charge.
@@OlysGarage ok awesome, yeah i def need to do that
Little by little the old Dodge is gettin better & better it is a cool car 👍 👍

EYE SPIDER GARAGE wonderfully phenomenal excellence superlative rivetingly spellbinding marvellous stellar brilliance
Thank you so much I really appreciate it!
@11:30 So your fuel sending unit operates on Ohms (resistance to ground in this case). That's the only reading you will get at the sending unit. I'd have to look up the expected range of the factory Dodge gauge/sender, or it's possible he swapped it out with a suitable aftermarket unit. The Sender MUST match the range for the gauge! 6v or 12v does not matter. And of course a good ground to the sending unit too.
Ahhhhhh ok, now thats interesting, I didn't think about that. Thank you Brotha, see I said you were the wiring master!!! BOOM BABY! Thank you Brotha!

Thank you Brotha!!!!
Boom baby!!!
BOOM BABY! Thank you Brotha!!
Usually when it's popping and backfiring under load like that, it's a timing issue. Could be a weak hole or valve issue but most the time it's the timing being off.
oh, well thats good news, hey I love when its an easy fix! Thank you Brotha!! Time to get the timing light back out!
@@EYE_SPIDER and re-check the dwell on your points. The gap is only suggestive, measuring dwell angle (with a dwell meter) is the most accurate!

( In my video I used " Wayfarer" and thought I spelled it wrong. I'm a high school drop out so I don't even flinch when I make a mistake in public. I guess Wayfair is a furniture company or something.... To find out I'll need to reach out to a pro couch potato. How is Robert's doing anyway? ) Hurry back to good health our good friend Robert's Garage!
Thats funny, yeah the spelling is kind of odd huh! Thank you brotha! Yeah its such a fun car I love it!
