Hey guys! I see some of you are struggling with this elevator. If you are in bedrock, note blocks cannot be observed using observers so you could use a dropper facing the observer. Remember not to put an item in it though. Hope this was helpful. 😀

Maybe you should move one of the dust one block higher. Sorry if this is unclear cuz it’s hard writing what I’m thinking in text.
@KFC Lion Bedrock is not trash, it worked for me. I'm not saying this to defend myself because I use bedrock, I even play Java. It works and if it doesn't for you than work on your redstone skills

For obsidian substitute, you can use glazed terracotta as it is the other type of block that won't stick to slime blocks. Bonus is that you can decorate with glazed terracottas as well. Or use pumpkin/watermelons, surprisingly the two are also non-stick blocks.
If you add a redstone ladder to activate BOTH note blocks when either button is pressed, then when you press either the top or bottom button it will go the direction you want it to. For example, if you are at the bottom, and the elevator is at the top, it will come down. If you are at the top and the elevator is also at the top, it will bring both you and the elevator to the bottom.

I think those obsidian blocks on the sides at the top can be replaced with glazed terracotta, or any immovable object, not just obsidian. And if you make this on a server and have high ping, i suggest putting a minecart in the elevator and ride it up, then you won’t fall through the wall. Another thing, i love redstone elevators, however they get really annoying over time, especially if you want to go up and down. So if its in a high travel area i suggest going water elevator instead. Other than that, good tutorial
Thank you! Yes glazzed terracotta is a good alternative. :) I didn't try it on servers but i think the minecart ideas is a good choice. :) The elevator isn't the fastest way to get up but this design is more for style in a base :)
To make it work instead using the noteblock use a redstone lamp and for the piston on the sides make them not sticky piston just the normal piston and for the middle piston use a sticky piston you welcome
