I'm not Polynesian in any way, shape, or form, but I love this culture. And many others. So interesting and cool to watch.

I´m from France and it´s great to see the maori traditions like the hangi, the haka, the boil-up and the ramraids.

While I'm not disappointed in my own heritage, I sometimes wish mine had more tradition, or even that I knew more about my native american heritage than I do. Culture is so delicate, but inspiring at the same time. Speak people. Voices should be heard, not ignored.

I feel you. But that heritage still holds you close even if you can't see it you are tethered to it.

I love seeing these videos. Because it shows the true color where you come from. And I don't know why I get all emotional but I start breaking down. I don't know why. And I wish someone could tell me. Because that right there means a lot to me.

      KA MATE! KA MATE!
We're going to die! We're going to die!
      We were at war
      Chorus
      KA ORA, KA ORA!
We're going to live! We're going to live!
      But now there is peace.
      Leader
      KA MATE! KA MATE!
We're going to die! We're going to die!
We thought we were all going to die
      Chorus
      KA ORA, KA ORA!
We're going to live! We're going to live!
      But now we are safe
      All together
      TENEI TE TANGATA PU'RU-HURU
This is the man, so hairy
Because our leader, so strong and masculine,
      NA'A NEI TIKI MAI WHAKA-WHITI TE ...
Who fetched, and made shine the
Has unified us and brought back the sunny days of
      ... RA! UPANE! KA UPANE!
      Sun! Together! All together ...!
Peace. We are all working in harmony, side by side,
      A UPANE! KA UPANE!
      Together! All together ...!
Moving in unison like the hairs on our chief's legs
      WHITI TE RA!
      To sun shines!
To prolong these sunny days of peace.
      HI!
      Yeah!

If he’s not Māori it’s not a Haka. Every Polynesian country has their own war chant.

    • @679inia6
      @679inia6 2 года назад +1

      💯 100% facts
He either doesn't know his own culture and identity so he copies what his seen on tv or he really really loves the Māori culture especially their ceremonial war dance. Which is a shame because his actual cultural war chant based on his Fijian and Tongan ancestry is very very powerful aswell.
The "cibi"(pronounced Thee Mbee) from Fiji is one of many as well as the "sipi tau" from Tonga
