The funny thing about that unexpected playoffs push is the best player of that whole rebuild thing is still playing in the KHL

Would be ecstatic if he could just get 65 tying Chelios and Lafleur for rookie scoring.

Great analysis with the stop action and choices. Reminds me of the soccer analyses by TheNextManager! I cannot wait to see what happens when Demidov arrives. I imagine that they might only need one of the two, Hutson or Demidov, on the ice at the same time.

Great video. Would be nice to see a 15-20 minute video of all his playmaking highlights with assists, drives to net, passes, goals, defensive plays, etc. He's a joy to watch and definitely a future all time great defenseman.

Besides Celebrini and Hutson. There's also Michkov (PHI), Wolf (CGY), Stankoven (DAL), Tsyplakov (NYI).
When was the last time the Caldar had this many impressive players (6 players; 4f, 1d, 1g to boot!) that could win it while still having a clear favorite.

61 players got drafted before him in 2022. Almost the entire league had two chances (some less, some even more) to have this on their team and missed that opportunity.
Think about that the next time you feel like you screwed something up.

Strange how you talk about Hutson but consistently show Caulfield in the first minute of the video. Thanks for the video anyway. I love Hutson!

Monty stays nr 1. But he knows now that he can't to afford many mistakes. And that's ok by me. Without any doubt Dobes will be a nr 1 goaly, hopefully here in Montreal. Still young and will also have ups and downs, like every other top goalies. For Lane Hutson the same, but i hope that he stays do what he is doing now as long as it will last. Go Habs Go!!!

As opposed to Hutson, Dobes has yet to prove to be consistent game after game on a long streak. It is too early for me to say if he's an excellent prospect or he's just "hot".

At 5:15, there are all five rangers trying to box in Hutson. That's how powerful he is.

  • @wrenchboostboi8994

Dobes will remain the backup for at least this and the next season. Theres no way any NHL team would put a 23 year old 1st over a veteran, no natter what kinda record he held, especially after only 5 games. He would never hold up for an entire season, never mind playoffs. The only chance that would ever happen is injury to Montembeault

And once again the almighty, fortune telling scouts are standing around with egg on their faces. How on Earth did Lane Hutson get picked in the second round??? I'll tell you why. Because the scouts have too much power and influence and if they say you're too small, or you're not a good enough skater, then that's it for you. So the fact that Hutson tied Makar's record for points in a season by a defenseman (WHILE PLAYING FEWER GAMES) was ignored because he's not 6 feet tall. It's insane. The NHL has a similar problem as MLB was shown to have in the film Money Ball. And the worst part is that in this system, it's next to impossible for an undrafted player (like Adam Oates or Brian Rafalski or Ed Belfour) your chances of making it to the NHL.
