Went for TU8000 50" (2020) and I'm satisfied with its performance especially in terms of Gaming. Tnx for making this video
I’m confused between buying a 50’ tu8000 or spend 120$ more to buy 43’ qled. How’s your experience with tu8000 and what do you recommend?
@@Alienytical From my experience, this TV is great for its money especially for Gaming but blacks aren't as good as my friends Sammy Qled TV and besides that, they are basically identical so if you got 120$ more to spend to enjoy Netflix or movie, I would definitely recommend Qled but if size matters for you like me, go for this
@@arthurleywin1832 I guess, even I’ll go with led because size sure does matter. Thank you for the insights.
@Sasquatch Enjoy your new TV😉
A somewhat decent test - but the top screen gets the full blast of light from the window and very little shadow of the sofa. The bottom screen shows more shadow from the sofa and less window light compared to the top screen. This means there's a bit less light toward the ground so the lower screen has a slight advantage of looking more vivid. So while the bottom is probably brighter regardless, it helps to do these tests as equal as possible to remove any doubt 😉. Cool one though.
That's correct 💯%
Agreed. Not the best comparison conditions.
If you pause at 6:06 minutes then you’ll notice that the yellow building in right side, sky and people’s are completely over exposed on QLED Tv and the only reason QLED looking so bright, cause it’s over exposing everything! In my opinion UHD is looking way better then QLED. Also, thank you for this video cause I was so confuse between this UHD and QLED thing.
The UHD looks so much better I agree! The qled doesn’t seem to be worth the price difference
You are looking at all this through a camera.... Just to remind you
@ManiLink 4 years later and I had to comment you are absolutely correct. everyone watching the video sees the exact same resolution
It's common for app designers to use a dark grey background instead of a pure black. So in the RUclips app, it could be that the QLED is correctly showing the dark grey background and the crystal UHD is darkening it to appear black.
The QLED looks really nice but paying $1000 for a 50 inch TV is out of my price range. Probably gonna get a 50 inch TU8000. Hope it is good/acceptional for gaming. Thank you for this great and informative video. It helps out a lot. Great work!
$1,000.00 is too much. I'd buy the cheap one and expend the rest in alcohol..
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Then you gonna reach 3d quality.
Smart decision.
Good point
@@digbick.4340 lollllll 3D Quality ...may be the brand of alcohol is called Qled
Not a good comparison. Alcohol will be depleted fast and the brightness will stay there forever LOL
Thet have the same picture quality but only from one angle, the QLED looks perfect no matter what angle you had the camera. Was looking for this video thank you
exactly
Thanks for the detailed comparison. Appreciated the fact that it is showing performance in our typical home environments, unlike in a factory or test lab.
Glad it was helpful!
I can see the difference but not £900 difference I would go 8 serious save £900 and buy 4k Blu-ray players and a Dolby Atmos soundbar
Mate, you just gave me the best idea ever
dude this is like choosing speakers by listening on playback from a youtube video. idiotic.
YES YES YES you are the shit
@@eliasdavid5289 True!! It depends upon the camera he's using and the screen we are watching this video on
@Elias: Thats true, but also depending on how it was recorded. youtube videos can give some information with the right techniques like neutral high end mics. recording in binaural audio, like on oluvs gadgets channel does. Should never be the only choice for buying but with good headphones oluvs videos gave me more information than believed before.
Just bought the 65” q80T based on your videos. Brilliant content mate
I just bought it to after like searching for two years it means a lot to me mine is 55 inch
@@amrsalah6879 🤣🤣 me too, I always take my time in buying my stuff
which tv have better preformance Q60T or TU8500 please ??
@@alexaoo yeah because it was my first 4k tv
How's the Q80T on gaming with local dimming on?
Another issue with the highest response settings is that they highlight special effects as being JUST special effects more than other settings - particularly with older films. The more you increase the "quality" of the image with QLED OLED and 8k only increases the chance of this being an irritating immersion breaker. I don't think this should be ignored in the race to be near the cutting edge. If you look at it THAT way then the cheaper "crystals" are actually BETTER than all the newer tech. Interesting to note that the anti reflective coating did pretty much nothing positive.
You're the most muscular tech guy I've ever seen as of now
Thank you very much, and no there doesn't seem to be many if us around
Just bought the tu8000! Only bad thing is the reflection & brightness but besides that for 400$ usd its fine. My First 4k tv aswell!
The store i work at has had 7 returns in a week of the TU7000, of which 4 were defects and 3 were unhappy with the picture. The TU8000 did a little better but sold less as well with two returns and 1 defect. It fees like they cheaped out quite badly
I had a TU7000, no issues for me. Flawless.
Great video! The QLED does look brighter and more vivid, but the TU8000 looks so good too! I think I’ll probably buy the latter, I’m not sure about spending double the price on the QLED. I guess I’m not that demanding
In my opinion, its not enough of a difference between the two to justify the gap in price. TU8000 for the win for me
I agree!
Depends on how your room looks like.
If you don’t need anti-reflective coating and the viewing angles you can as well get the qled q70r
I’ve got a qled q80 and 7 series crystal uhd.....quality in picture difference is not worth the extra grand, the q80 does significantly better in daylight, but come night-time, with the right settings the 7 series does exceptionally well....
One thing to note, the q80 has a superior processor, the ui on the 7 series is laggy as hell, still wouldn’t pay a grand to have a smooth ui.
Imho, i’d save the money skip qled and go for oled (decision i think i should have made)
Oled is more expensive
I have to say I have the Crystal LED and I love it. There is a different, but not that big of a difference. The question one has to ask themselves is the difference big enough to justify spending that much more money. For me it wasn’t. So personally I think I got more bang for my buck than if I had bought the QLED. Not to mention I can also afford to buy a Sony PS5 to plug into it...LOL!!!
I bought today the Q60T after watching your videos! Superrrrr value for the money! Such a beautiful screen! Your reviews covers EVERYTHING! thank you
My pleasure.
Enjoy the new TV!
Intersting at 6:00 it looks like you lose details on the q80t, you cant see the yellow in the building on the right clealry, and the sky also.
I feel like that's the camera, the TV shouldn't have anything to do with how overexposed a shot is.
@@supercarsofwichita9485 if it was the camera then the yellow would have obviously been washed out in the cheaper tv as well. so it is definitely the q80t. i personally prefer the cheaper one as the colors and contrast of everything seem way too harsh and unnatural in the qled. wouldn't want to pay that much money just to lower the settings lolol
For those complaining about the curtains, he did said it is a day time test. Thank you for the work
My pleasure mate
Although this video is two years old, it relates to my situation right now. In the store, it was really hard to see the big difference. However, your real world test is just what I needed. I am going to go with a QLED TV . It is better and for the small price difference, I will take the QLED. Thank you so much.....
Thankyou. No video on RUclips gave me these insights. Helped a lot. Thanks from India.
Most welcome!
I want to see this man aggressively selling tech at Best Buy.
I maybe not the most demanding TV user. But base on the video showed in those two, I prefer the picture quality of the Crystal UHD. The brightness of the QLED is way too much for my eyes. Let also consider that most of the time, the ambiance of your environment is the biggest factor to get the most out of your TV picture qualities. The QLED doesn’t justify it price compared to the Crystal UHD. That just my opinion. Btw thank you so much for this wonderful comparison! These helped me decide which TV to buy! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
May I ask which one you bought im having trouble
I agree i also have the crystal uhd 65" samsung and the picture to me mostly the same -🤗👌i love crystal black colors anyhow...
In Dynamic the TU8000 looks like QLED in Standard mode lol
The TU8000 believe it or not, can have a better image when black levels come into play when you are looking dead on because the contrast ratio is superior
I was considering a hisensence Qled against Samsung UHD and watched one of your other videos, i also was thinking is worth the extra to get Qled Samsung and here i am watching your vid again. YOU HAVE BEEN A GREAT HELP. First time on your channel only Today but great stuff.
Glad I could help
so i had to look this up: here in the US, 900 pounds equals about 1143.00 dollars more? forget that!!!!! i'm not paying over eleven hundred dollars for that! are you kidding me!!
Welcome to Samsung.
900 pounds is $1,561.41 in Canadian currency where I'm from and that's not even including tax.
I hope and wish I will be able to buy the tu8000 someday. Still saving for it. Thank you for this review. Appreciate it a lot. 😊
No problem my friend 🙂
The tu8000 is the same as the tu7000 but 200 pounds more expensive, there is just an upgraded remote control

Thanks for your good review. Naturally, the q80 is much higher quality, but the price is several times higher. In terms of price, I think the Tu8000 is worth buying because it was just a little more opaque, but when you look at it alone, the quality is great considering the price. Is that your opinion?
The tu8000 stood up very well actually
Do you feel the need of QLED ??? I am just curios if will be si big difference in games between UHD 4k Led and Qled
Ive heared more tvs in a sentence today than in my whole life
This video is exactly what I was looking for, thanks a lot men 👍 I appreciate that
No problem.
Any questions then feel free to ask away and I'll do my best yo answer them.
I think I’d rather either save the money and go for the cheaper tv or throw a bit extra on and go for OLED
My husband was sold on the 85” crystal uhd because it massive. I spent just a couple bucks more and got a 82” QLED...good reminder that Bigger is not always better.
GI GI7! I think you’ve told your husband that so much you’re starting to believe it yourself haha only joking, you’re right OLED and QLED are the better technologies everything else aside

Hello from America. Great comparison video. Thank you
Please your advice, biger screen size with crystal led or smaller size with qled?
Nice review! Would you say that the brightness of the TU8000 should be sufficient when viewing in daylight/sunlight or is it pretty dim? Also, you mentioned that as the settings were on the factory presets, is it possible to increase those brightness levels further if needed? Thanks.
I really enjoyed this comparison! Very detailed. Thank you
Thanks for watching
I bought a 2019 samsung 43ru7100 it looks amazing i choose the 2019 one because the 2020 is basically the same and doesn't have av
I recently purchased a Q90T and my only complaint is the abundance of what looks like polarizing lines across the dark screen during the day when the sun is out! It almost makes it look like a defect!
Peter Raiche that’s the panel lottery but Samsung’s do seem to suffer with it a fair bit. Out of interest, have you tried yours with a sound bar connected?
Paul it’s hooked up to a Marantz receiver and 5 speakers. The sound is super.
When you have the two tv receiving light from different angles is difficult to have an accurate comparison.
EXACTLY
Good thing they were receiving light from the exact same place and angle in this video then huh moron?
@@cenciende9401 no moron, one is above the other, thus creating different level of light source due to height.

Thank you sir! I’m currently looking to upgrade my tv more so for gaming but I had no clue on the differences between these types of screens.
Glad I could help 🙂
What did you get?
@@jessicamorrow8693 the LG BX 55in
The different configurations could bias the visual results. The interesting thing I found in store is the seller doesn’t want to put two similar product at together and let you easily compare which is better. My idea is if you don’t care about thousands of dollar than you go for the best one which is the QLED. But for regular home usage, you may prefer a 85” UHD TV and save yourself $2k from the QLED.
I have just grabbed 75" Crystal UHD 7100 series a few hours ago at flash sales at very low price and now suffering the cognitive dissonance because i wasn't to much into modern TV details and QLED looks more decent and i could afford it easily too. This vid only aplified my uncertainaty about the choice =)))) anyway thanks for russia for this vid, no much content about this subject in the net
Identifying them by model name rather than the tech being compared is wild
You are awesome thx giant!
How tall are you btw?
I only ask because from your point of view (of the camera), it 55" TV looks more like a 43" version!
Im getting the TU8000 omg my first UHD TV! You think gaming on ps4 slim whcih is only 1080p output would look good on a 4k tv? Im planning to buy PS5 next year so I'll be gaming on the slim at the moment

thx man for the review it helped me alot
My pleasure
How do the picture qualities compare on 1080p broadcasts? Since there is so little 4K content, I am not sure if Qled is worth it.
what device did you record on?
great video!
Hello Johnny sins I didn’t know you were a tech youtuber.
Got to do something in my spare time
Thank you for this review
I would like to see the tu8000 series vs q60T, i think its better to compare these two because the price difference between them is smaller tham vs q80T...
I have good news i will get an lg b9 replacement for an additional 58 pounds , so happy 😊
Hi
I am from India
@@neelmaniblowin2494 hello
How much is 58 pounds
I have the Xbox One X with the TU 8200. I noticed the colors were a little bit washed but very clear. So I went into the settings and put it in RGB mode! It makes the colors pop amazingly and the blacks our even deeper than the Black originally before! Then I go back in and adjust the brightness and contrast, sharpness and color of the TV and now it looks amazing!!
does the crystal UHD have those reflectors inside that can easily fall off or come unglued? have toddlers that have knocked 3 loose and i prefer not to purchaseca TV that needs to be mounted or hung snd prefer to keep lower on a stand for many reasons. Really annoyed these reflectors fall off with minimal contacts to the LCD. trying to avoid that type of technology.
Thx for helping me decide. Now im sure that i will buy a QLED
Absolutely loving the videos and keep up the good work! 🔥 Will you be doing more gaming videos on the Q80T?
Yes
which tv have better preformance Q60T or TU8500 please ??
Thanks 👌🏼 Sound test would of been nice tho
I found both of them here in Dhabi and the difference is around 100$ only, but it’s 2021 anyway, I’m definitely going for QLED
Enjoy
Why the hell the games on PS4PRO look better on 1080p than in 4k in THIS 4K TV ?
Samsung qled vs crystal 4k uhd which one is better??
loved the review
Cheers
Samsung 70 tizen or tu7000 crystal uhd vs 65 inch qled tcl 6 series? Movies sports games?
Question for the pros. MU9000 or q70r? What would you buy?
I was interested in a Q80T under 45” but they don’t make produce it , so I’m going for TU8500 not such a dramatic difference in quality and is the price
When u dont have a qled tv side by side then u will find tu8000 is a perfect tv.. But if u campeare between two , then q80t will look definitely better.. How ever I have a tu8000 55 inch.. And I am very happy..
Does the quantum processor do a better job of upscaling compared to crystal processor? Mainly asking for live tv watching
Really nice vids. I think you’re providing comparisons that are unique on RUclips and are desperately needed. Now more so than ever as not everyone can make it to a store.
Thank you

Hi my question is what tv u using right now which one is the best for gaming?
Appreciate these videos.
Samsung tu8570 55inches is the best model2020 please reply
Frankly, I did not find any difference in the image #quality between the two screens..!!
Thanks for your nice explanation..
We bought a Samsung QLED QN90B (43") recently, replacing our old UE40D6500. It is being used diagonally above the kitchen table, guessing 30 degree horizontal and 30 degree vertical viewing agle.
With this the TV is hardly usable, colors grey out pretty much, especially skin colours fade away to grey, and the whole picture seems washed out and milky. Especially when when walking in front of the the TV you notice the color change pretty drastically. Does it even make sense to look at other ranges of Samsung (e.g. the Crystal UHD range such as the 8079), as I don't care so much about nastic features or if black is really black), but more on an overall stable image from different angles. Or will all Samsung behave the same due to their PA panels?
If yes I might really need for other panels or product ranges such as OLEDs or IPS panels e.g. by LG.
What a great video. I love your channel. Could You please make another video about gaming with the Tu8000? I think I will buy that version in specific, but I must be sure that this TV is good for gaming
thsi was interestung. thank you!
How's the 82" RU 8000 in dark rooms, and HDR? Am not a gamers, but at 50% off I can't see better deal? Your opinion, thanks.
I have a 50 inch RU8000 and it's actually a good tv and most definitely great for gaming
I've seen this before. Many samsung qled the frame 2021 models, tcl qled, qled hisense budget models have blooming effect / backlight bleed, and the black lever on samsungs budget crystal uhd look darker in daylight. Shadow details also often look more dynamic on crystal uhd.. I will skip QLED entirely. If I'm upgrading from VA LCD I go straight to OLED
so his review results in that UHD is better than QLED in price and even image quality! :)
Would enjoy to see a gaming comparison between those two!
As it stands now, the QLED seems to be the picture quality winner, but the other one seems to be the price/performance ratio winner in my opinion. 😎
I think the QLED could stand out a little bit more when it can show it’s black levels in darker images. But still...
an OLED will always be superior, in fact, movie production companies and advanced art design firms use them as the color and resolution standard (also known as a critical reference) for movies, design, art, and some video games. It's being implemented in AR, VR, and hologram tech as it provides so many new possibilites, They are stupid expensive as there isn't a perfect way of mass producing them to the consumer market yet. Even the big TVs you can buy ($1300-5000 USD) aren''t as perfect on the gamma and RGB as a professional critical reference monitor ($20 000 - $30 000). Can't wait until those are everywhere and we live in a cyberpunk world lol.
I love this guy
Thank you 🙂
Thanks! ❤
the tu8000 has more definition look at the white board you can read it vs on the Q90T you cannot. Also, when you do these tests I highly suggest showing dark pictures like game of thrones(lol) or any dark scenes to show definition between blacks
PORQUE SE VE MAS GRANDE EL QLED SI AMBOS SON DE 55" WHY QLED SEEMS MORE BIG IF BOTH ARE 55"???
But is it worth 900 more. I dont think so.
If your primary concern is brightness with a samsung tv then you need to set them to dynamic as you did in the second part of your vid - which i believe SHOULD also show more difference between them as it also sets each tv to its maximum response time which is where qled is supposedly better (the difference in colour saturation is minimal imo). I have the 55" crystal and i cant use it on the dynamic setting because going from a dark scene to a bright one in a dark room SEARS my eyes. "Natural" is the best compromise with the others (apart from dynamic) being too dark in very dark scenes. Samsung out of the box settings for both sound and picture are terrible. When I first got my tv I almost sent it back because the sound was so poor..set it to optimal and it's COMPLETELY different. You would THINK that optimal would be the default setting but I'm pretty sure this is to sell more of their fairly crappy soundbars at point of sale. Outside of tv inbuilt sound go full surround not fake surround. Fact is you can now get 75" crystals for £799 and £999 giving a true home cinema feel. If you wanted to push that even further it's £1800 or less for an 82". IMO no projector or QLED/OLED comes close to that for bang for your buck. Even £799 for TLC's new 65" QLED isn't comparable as their panels are inferior. As for the insanely priced new 8k tvs you are again talking MAJOR cost increase (some are more than £12000) for a comparatively minor visual improvement. Lastly, going for a massive (75/82) screen makes minor changes related to viewing angle a moot point.
Great review. Wanted to ask what's your room size and your sitting distance from these TVs. Cheers
Room is about 5m x 3.5m amd we sit around 2.7M away from the screen.
@@TheTechGiantRUclips Appreciate the reply. Really helps in understanding your viewing perspective.
