@@DoctorDDub You could totally do an entire tutorials series if you wanted to (even though I don’t have suggestions for topics at the moment, I’m sorry 😅). Some people just have a knack for condensing and relaying information in a clear and concise way, and you’re definitely one of them! Do you watch The Office? If so, kind of like Oscar explaining surplus to Michael like he’s 5 years old. Very helpful for beginners! 😂
I've avoided manual modding in games for years because it's always really intimidating and I'm pretty tech illiterate, but my guy this tutorial was so easy to follow and thorough, you really made navigating it so idiot-friendly, thank you XD
This was probably the best tutorial I've seen for modding startdew. You explained everything clearly and patiently as well as providing as much info as possible! Really helped me not feel anxious about doing this and it was easy to do while you were speaking without having to pause and restart constantly! Thank you!
This is the best SV modding video I've come across in all my time of playing! I watched a handful of other videos, and I couldn't understand it at all! Thank you so very much for making such a wonderful tutorial video!
Thank you so much for sharing this information, especially how to back up your game save files! It's amazing that you know how to have a vanilla file and a modded file! Normally when I look for something that detailed I don't find exactly what I am looking for and you make it look easy!
Haha, making it look easy was the goal! I'm glad you think so :) And yeah, I juggle 3-4 farms, 3 of which are modded, one of which is vanilla, so knowing how to handle that is important to me. There's apparently even ways to create different shortcuts for SMAPI that will automatically load different mod folders. I still need to learn that before I can confidently share it, but still - the modding world goes so deep! Lol
This video was incredibly helpful. Sometimes I feel like a grandma watching other tutorials like this because I cant follow along. This was perfect. Thank you
I know others have said it but this is hands down the best stardew mod instructions I've ever seen. I would only get to the smapi part and would be so confused after. Thank you so much, left a like and added to favorites
The best tutorial I've seen on youtube about modding the game. I watched a few and couldn't solve my problem but after seeing yours, everything was super easy to understand ! Thanks a lot. I'am definitely going to watch the rest of your Stardew Valley content !

I'm a new player to stardew valley and recently discovered modding as an option to decorate my home to the aesthetic I've been wanting. Okaaaaaaay well Ive tried this and had absolutely no luck at all so very disappointed I even downloaded &zip which I used to have but moved to Winrar for my Sims 4 downloading but regardless the game simply wouldnt even launch on Steam anyway I havent lost it and may try again in the future....................sad
This was really nice to watch! I started poking into modding when 1.5 came out, but was intimidated. Can you make a video about how to uninstall or delete mods (in case of errors or if you find a different mod you like better)? Maybe it's really easy to do, but it'd be nice to know.
To uninstall a mod its as easy as you only delete the folder of the mod, if a mod causes an error in the SMAPI window as RED letters usually it tells you the name of the mod or folder that its causing the error, just delete that one and its good to go.
@@BrayhanGamer thanks! I was also wondering if it's possible to only enable a mod for one farm but not others? Like if you want a vanilla multiplayer but modded single player?
Yes Anna! I'll be covering that as well but the short answer (or at least my preferred way of doing it) is to have multiple mods folders. Mods are only loaded from the "Mods" folder, so if you have another farm you play, copy your mods folder and name it something else, like "Mods - Jeremy's Farm", and put whatever mods you want to use for that farm in it. Then rename it to "Mods" when you're ready to use it, and rename your original mods folder to something else. There are other ways to do this as well but that's my go-to! Does that make sense?
Sorry, that's how to juggle two modded farms. If you want one modded and one vanilla, simply launch the game normally (not through SMAPI) when you want to play the vanilla farm, and launch it through SMAPI when you want to play your modded farm.
@@DoctorDDub ah, yeah I could use the shortcuts you talk about in the video to do that! My brain keeps thinking mods are permanent since I haven't used them much.
hi! uhm im having problems because the consol does not recognize the game as it is in my pc, and i tryed to move it and to write down exactly where the game was located, and it still doesn't finds it :( any clue of why is this happening?
Ive tried to install SMAPI, but it says "oops, couldnt find the game automatically. Type the file path to the game directory (the one containing 'stardew Valley.dll)" I cannot find this file.
i have the same problem i tried using the 7 zip to 'extract here' and it helped and i saw the starvalley app in window (smapi installer/install/window) but not the starvalley exe because it doesn't show like he clicked on 4:25 'install on window bat' the only thing that showed to me is 'install on window' so i tried following the note he had in there but it s a bit confusing so i m here to ask for video tutorial maybe updated version

I just wanna know if there's a way to manage your mods, like, when you open the Sims4 a window show us which mod is active, so you can select the ones you want for that specific game. I just need to know if i can have something like that or i need to manually take out the mods that i want to be inactive. Hey! I appreciate your video, it helps me even to today. I wanted to ask though, to update smapi, can I just download it again and it will replace the previous download with the update version?
I'm glad to heart it! And yep! When you install a newer version, it will uninstall the old and install the new, and the process is no different. Just type "1" and hit enter, just like normal!
hello i watched your vid though and when i try to launch stardew valley through steam it says i haven't typed in the name correctly could you please help
i did all of this but when i launch the game using the pinned app in my start menu it doesnt load the textures for way back pelican town. is this common or not, and if it is that how do i fix it?
Anyone else having a problem with the screen after modding the game?? When I booted up the game, the screen was zoomed in WAY TOO MUCH!! I used the in-game menu to zoom out but there is a noticeable change in quality
I haven't yet finished the video, but can you add mods to an already modded save file? Specifically NPC ones. I know you said they're the only ones you've had issues with, but did you mean that they always end in issues?
You can always keep adding on mods to an already modded file. If you add an NPC mod though, once you save the game with a modded NPC in it, if you remove that mod and attempt to reload that save, you'll corrupt your save file. At least that was my experience several years ago when I did it. Never had any other issues with corrupt save files aside from that.
Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear it was helpful. I enjoy doing these type of tutorials, though I've hardly done any yet. Hopefully more to come! :D
it says i don’t have the required .NET version installed do you know how to install it? i don’t really do well with programming and stuff so i was wondering if you would know what to do?
Your tutorial was extremely helpful, but i've run into a few issues- i downloaded the mods correctly and they run with a white name on smapi, but they dont load in. for example, i have leyalluna's portraits downloaded, but the portraits in game haven't changed. any ideas for why this is happening?
I can get all the steps but the one at 4:31. Whenever the black screen opens it says that I’m running the installer from inside a zip file. And make sure you unzip the download first. I have no clue what that means and I’m struggling lol
None of my mods will work, i'm not sure why. They pop up in red at the beginning, then the smapi page autocloses when stardew loads. i didn't have the "extract here" option on my computer, but i downloaded 7zip. I think I'm stuck, someone help pls lol

@@DoctorDDub Awesome! thank you!
i downloaded mods everything loaded properly but they didnt make a change im so confused please send help
I'm just confused when mods download and they are RAR files. where do i put those?
hello i watched your vid though and when i try to launch stardew valley through steam it says i haven't typed in the name correctly could you please help
which mod changes the color of the inventory?
the stardew valley folder has nothing inside of it, can you help?
i did all of this but when i launch the game using the pinned app in my start menu it doesnt load the textures for way back pelican town. is this common or not, and if it is that how do i fix it?
Does your SMAPI launcher say anything about Way Back Pelican town, most likely in red text?
Anyone else having a problem with the screen after modding the game?? When I booted up the game, the screen was zoomed in WAY TOO MUCH!! I used the in-game menu to zoom out but there is a noticeable change in quality
Are you able to show a video on how to mod Stardew through Gamepass. I have been trying for days and following the steps but i just dont get it :'(
I haven't yet finished the video, but can you add mods to an already modded save file? Specifically NPC ones. I know you said they're the only ones you've had issues with, but did you mean that they always end in issues?
You can always keep adding on mods to an already modded file. If you add an NPC mod though, once you save the game with a modded NPC in it, if you remove that mod and attempt to reload that save, you'll corrupt your save file. At least that was my experience several years ago when I did it. Never had any other issues with corrupt save files aside from that.
@@DoctorDDub Oh okay thanks! That's actually all I wanted to know, I don't plan on removing any mods. Exceptional video by the way!
Your tutorial was extremely helpful, but i've run into a few issues- i downloaded the mods correctly and they run with a white name on smapi, but they dont load in. for example, i have leyalluna's portraits downloaded, but the portraits in game haven't changed. any ideas for why this is happening?
for me the website wont let me register!? does anyone know how to change that?
What do I do if stardew valley game doesnt show up in my library
Is there a way to to it without smapi because it will nit let be copy that thung in the coding bit for some reason
There are certain mods called xnb mods that overwrite the games files, so yes, though it's not recommended.
I can get all the steps but the one at 4:31. Whenever the black screen opens it says that I’m running the installer from inside a zip file. And make sure you unzip the download first. I have no clue what that means and I’m struggling lol
You're not sure what "unzip the download file" means?
I use GoG galaxy and i dont know what to do to get the mods
i have problem wehre i cannot access my ui suite info mod button on the menu :(
None of my mods will work, i'm not sure why. They pop up in red at the beginning, then the smapi page autocloses when stardew loads. i didn't have the "extract here" option on my computer, but i downloaded 7zip. I think I'm stuck, someone help pls lol
ty bro ily
Mwah! Np :)

How are you going about launching the game?
Is there a way to disable mods Without breaking the saves for other farms
Is your goal to be able to play one farm with mods and other farms without mods?

You're so welcome! Modding stardew is a blast and I hope everyone that wants to can experience them! Hence this tutorial :)
