    Something that stood out to me about the video is how creative the process of making a paddle is. From de-constructing paddles to creating a concept to manufacturing and testing it. Really interesting stuff. I am going through divorce now. Bro, I have to let my ideas live.

    You said "people who enjoy the journey versus people who just want the outcome" and that really got me thinking and realized that it relates to so many aspects in our lives. That line will stick with me and I'll think back on it while going through my days. Thank You for the time and work you put into your craft 🏓

    This is such a timely and epic interview for me! I'm starting a paddle brand as we speak and I see myself in Matt so much. We're cut from the same cloth for sure. It's so cool to see someone just a few months ahead of me and so open with the details of his path✌️

    Great episode! It’s cool how he incorporated his daughter’s name into the brands name, adds to the meaning and vision he had for his brand. This episode shows me that Matt is not about the quick buck but someone who has an idea/passion and took the leap, sink or swim, to follow/go through with it!!

    When I first saw the Maverick paddle with cut corners, I figured it was a gimmick, but then the reviews came out glowing for it. I love how it went with 15mm as well. Not a copycat manufacturer. Props for going to China is building out the relationship with the plant.

    Great story. Loved hearing the perspective of trying without letting fear of failure or doubt stop you. Yes, you shouldn't take risks if there is zero safety net and a high probability of failure. But you shouldn't live in a bubble and be afraid of taking chances that, if they don't work out, you can still recover from and at least learn from, and move on with more knowledge the next time.

    China sport equipment manufacturers have a ton of knowledge when it comes to materials from decades of experience producing equipment for badminton, golf, tennis etc. Even ping-pong paddles have carbon substrate layers incorporating kevlar & titanium fibers since forever but this materials are considered "new" to pickleball! Eg. adding kevlar to carbon allows for a little more deflection & shock absorption. Their R&D setups also allow for rapid prototyping & they can whip out any sort of iteration you want almost immediately for testing purposes. Pickleball companies are like chefs & the China OEMs are like kitchens!

    Doubt kills more dreams than failure... and yeah, like you said, it's a California thing here, just enjoy the ride lol. I have both the Havik 16 Pro & 15 Pro and luv them. Like Matt I'm kinda skeptical about the Clash cuz I wanted them to remain different as far as the shape goes. It's a pleasure doing business with them. Easy to communicate with and I met one of his ambassadors Dennis when he came here to Sacramento/Elk Grove and showed us that hexagon paddle. After that, I bought mine ha. I love the light swingweight for an elongated and you get used to it like any other paddle. Love my Havik 15 right now

  • @pauljohnmarcelino2121
    @pauljohnmarcelino2121 Месяц назад +1

    One thing about the Havik shape, I rather have this than the wide bodied paddles that are coming out right now that reminds me of that thing that takes the pizza out of the oven 🤣 Can't make mistake who's paddle is on the rack with that shape 😂

  • @kaisersozen
    @kaisersozen Месяц назад +1

    He said "fuck it"... jk... actually lots of good lessons to learn in terms of starting/running a business in general and not just limited to pickleball, for example understanding that your product will not satisfy everyone and that's okay. I admire their commitment to not following the herd to deliver a unique product, this approach takes a lot more sweats and tears. And he's right that one great thing about China is they will take the effort to develop the perfect mold/sample with you even though it costs them more initially.

      “Doubt kills more Dreams than Failure “
      Favorite line in the interview - this applies to all even this channel , I just started posting random TCG card rips on RUclips just to do something with my little guy which now he gets excited watching me do …shameless plug @pokesportrips - just for fun nothing professional
      Biggest take away was how important a fathers influence can be, you guys didn’t hone in on that part so much but the fact that Matt’s father is basically an entrepreneur in his own right with investments properties is the fundamental basis of where Matt gets his drive to explore new projects and even down to the property he had with his ex-wife that helped fund this awesome brand. Having a 2yr old myself it’s those mindsets I want to instill in him whether he realizes it or not as an adult.
      The one question I have regarding peel grit … what are yours and Matt’s thought on Carbon Eraser vs Paddle Reset spray I guess specifically on his paddles since that’s what I own or just in general -I would LOVE to stick with his branding and who knows maybe one day be good enough rated to earn an ambassador role with his company, but yea I was looking to get one or the other to clean mine since it’s fairly ashy looking now lol
      Thank you guys !!!

    Brian I love the work you're putting together! The studio looks great! Matt doing some great things with paddles. I liked learning the insight of how some/most paddles are made. The little differences he does to stand out in the paddle game makes a difference and is attractive. Keep it up Brain! Genuine Brain! Thanks for the personal note with the last shirt. @buildingpickleball Sir, is instagram the best way to send you a message? I’ve been inspired by your channel since the marvelous Rafael Filippini 1 on 1 you held. Thank you. I’ve been at work for over a year now. I have 3 utility patents provisioned, prototyped, and the master patents fully developed. You’ll know it when the first official approved series drops, I’m working with Mr maloof who I met last April. When the time comes here in a month or two, I’d love to do a similar style interview to this video and your video with Rafael. Id say I have around 3 hours worth of new content developments and needed improvements to bring to light. Building Pickleball, the name is perfection in process. The game has so much potential for widespread enjoyment. My push is to bring pickleball to what we can all sense is its potential best sport experience. These inventions I’ve created with USA 🇺🇸 as a community in mind. Healthier happier Americans. I can’t say how many great ideas and discoveries came to me once I aligned with this purpose, I can just say I very much look forward to our interview and empowering all the great people through their great sport and I love that. Thanks man
