I had a lot of respect for him when he did the contest after they won their 4th chip. He didn't talk any trash about the Celtics. In fact, he actually complemented them and stated that it reminded him of the Warriors team a few years back when they were still building.

But when the season comes around, players need to play hard and believe their team could win games. When you say "weird", I think you mean the media, because sometimes they make stories as if NBA players hate each other, when they're just trying to be competitive. They (ESPN) also do this for the NFL, as for example, they never addressed how Belichick complimented Brady after his retirment on the podcast, to drive the narrative that they somehow hate each other. They did the same for LeBron-Kyrie, Harden-KD-Kyrie, Westbrook-Beverley, Kawhai- Popovich, etc...
